Nice Video... Ive lived in Washington for 24 years and have taken three black bear two with a bow and the other with a rifle. Its fun hunting but i have a brother in Alaska who took his first brown bear last season. the bear was just shy of 900 lbs.
Thanks to all of you who enjoy our videos, please keep the positive comments coming, let the anti-everything crowd know that there are lots of us who understand that modern game management "hunting" is a valuable tool that pays for the management of all wild animals so that everyone can enjoy it.
Even the huggers are benefitting from hunting, they just aren't smart enough to realize it.
There are a few, mostly in the extreme NE corner of the state. I have never seen one there myself but know people who have. So that you don't make any mistakes when hunting, log onto the Montana FW&P website and take their BEAR TEST. Take it repeatedly until you don't make any mistakes.
Yes, there are bear in both those areas. Remember to look for ripe berries when you are hunting and concentrate on those areas. Some good bear can usually be found in the blueberry/huckleberry patches.
Eric you are right, there are numerous good areas in Eastern and I have hunted some good areas in Western Washington. Look for the ripe berry patches and you will find the bear.
My family and I are heading out to Colville for deer season but we've seen alot of bear sign out there, so if you're interested in trying your luck, I would recommend that area. Down in Naches is another great area for bear, anywhere heavily wooded on the east side of the mountains are ripe for bear.
