  • Some interesting moments on this album but basically there was already an Emerson Lake & Palmer, with much better vocals and stronger writing.

  • @oceantracks I think Quatermass came before ELP

  • @mycuff2 ELP's first album came out the same year, 1970....I didn't discover Quatermass though until far later, they played one of the cuts around 1973 on a station in St Louis and I loved it...having already been an ELP fan...

  • @oceantracks I think it is interesting how there were a lot of 3 piece groups back during the 70s with just bass, drum, and keyboards. The ones that jump to mind are Triumvirat, Refugee, and of course Quatermass. ELP does seem to be the most heavily recognized, though they actually do have guitar throw in for some songs.

  • The bass riff was copied by an incredible lot of bands in the following years.

  • Amazing artwork.

  • The Repertoire Records cd release of this album has some out-takes on it... as well as an all-new graphics package by Storm Thorgerson who did the original cover

  • Very good it is my favourite track And I have this LP.

    1970

  • Note to SuperGeorge53:

    I agree*...this is MY *ALL-TIME UBER-MEGA-RAVE-FAVE* from that lone Eponymous 1970 LP.

I wonder if there are any outtakes of those sessions that EMI might have in their vaults? (Colin Miles & Nick Mobbs, are you listening?)

    Thanx fer this, m8..

  • awesome

  • WhomEVER posted this,THANKYOU!!!! THIS has to be my FAVORITE Quatermass tune!!!

I really thought I'd NEVER hear it CLEARLY again(my albums SOOOO scratched up,with pops, clicks an hisses!) i'm an OLD acidhead, and THIS tune was the MOOK!!!! Thank you!!!

  • I love Quatermass

i think one of the best prog albums ever made

  • I had the album back in the 72. Quatermass made only this album, great prog.

  • The incredible is only 168 reproductions! considering that this is one masterpiece, a rare jewel! and the fact that this cut inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Crucifiction" in "Jesuschrist Superstar", where John Gustafson, the bassplayer and lead singer of quatermass appeared as the zealot in the original Cast.

  • Very fine! Cites the best days of prog-jazz-rock.

    Thank You!

  • amazing track!!!!
