I used to live with Buzzy. After a gig he would bring all the homeless people home for pancakes, my cooking them being the operative idea. He was a dynamo, a creative genius, we had more laughs than a barrel of monkeys.
I've been a '60s nut since I was all of 9 years old, I'm now 34, and this is the first I've ever seen Buzzy Linhart! When I first got interested in the late '60s back in the summer of '86, I had a book on the late '60s that had a picture of The Hog Farm commune in upstate New York. On the wall of one of their bedrooms was the album cover for what I just found out was The Seventh Sons (featuring Buzzy). And that's what brought me here to look him up! Wow! FANTASTIC!!!!
@ryancole90 Both Doug Rodriguez & Doug Rauch were absolute funk innovators on several records, too include Bette M Davis first album & Lenny White's 'Venusian Summer'
YES!!! Saw Buzzy many times at My Fathers Place and,Central park. Always put on a hell of a show! He also played vibes on some Hendrix tracks and,co-wrote the song Friends . I understand he wrote (or contributed to) Get Together by the Youngbloods! Thanks for posing this!
Buzzy had more guts, charisma, and vocal gold than Joe Cocker ever did! Why he never had more exposure is beyond me?
