Honestly, I'm surprised Mike doesn't like Kevin Smith movies, because Mike always reminds me of Randall, my least favorite character in Kevin Smith's work.

Both have the same film geek attitude, the same "greater than thou" perception, and the similar tendencies to make off-color racial remarks.

Hopefully, you guys will get around to your best of Stanley Kubrick picks. I'd love to hear those opinions.

Im not even the biggest Kevin Smith fan in the world but this was useless as a serious evaluation and debate of a director. On one hand you have a guy who seems more concerened with taking personal attacks on the guy , and on the other you have a supporter who didnt seem prepared to back up his support.

I expected more than a live-action adaptation of an imdb message board thread.

Michael Bay's Armageddon is on Criterion Collection too. I have mixed feelings about Smith, he is one of those directors I enjoy a lot but I don't consider him a master. And I don't see what's so bad about naming your daughter after a psychopath abused nymph who hangs out with a killer clown. I would be friends with that person JUST for that.

If I can weigh in here... Richmarkhill78: you can take Mike or leave him. But the intention here is to entertain. You either get his humor or not. No one should be sacred and if you don't take Foltzie's comments as humor well... that's your perogative. But we do not censor our commentators. And, to that I add, I thought Mike's comments were pretty damned funny.
