I know. The thing i criticize about them is that they ALWAYS fly that POS B747-400 to SFO and LAX. They should be ordering the B777-300ER or the A380-800 like all the other Asian airlines are.

But I like their A330s/A340s. I got an A340-313X for the Taipei-Honolulu route on B-18851. The seating is hella roomy!

Actually ,China Airlines is the flag carrier of Taiwan(Republic of China,ROC) . Taiwan's flag color is blue and red. There is also an "Air China", which is the flag carrier of China (People's Republic of China,PRC). "China Airlines" and "Air China" are two different companies from two different countries.

I agree, China Airlines don't take too much pride in keeping their equipment in top shape. A lot of their planes are also second hand.

CI's fleet are not second hand NOW.

They did had one befoire,but it just returned to Boeing.

That one was B18851(A343).

In order to get the 777 contract of SQ ,

Boeing decided to accept all the A343 and switched the 777 to SQ.

Then,Boeing leased one of A343 to CI.

CI has turned it back about years ago , so they didn't have second hand planes anymore.
