  • You look just like Victoria Beckham! Great tutorial:)

  • "Seche" is actually pronounced 'sesh' (it's French) :)

  • But good tutorial :)

  • thank you soo much for this, it's MUCH simpler than what I have been trying to do. LOVE IT

  • how nice!!!!!

  • (Y)

  • I think starting with the lightest color from d bottom to darkest on top will give u better effect. But nice color combination though. ^^

  • @xoxo0414 you have to eat a lot of vitamins to strengthen your nails :)

  • i love how easy it it thank you so much, the colour even suits my dress im going to wear tonight

  • This is great - always wondered how to do this!!! Thank you!

Only, if I wanted to do a design with different colours or I wanted to keep it a darker colour at the top - I can't really put the colours over each other, can you suggest how I could do this plz?

  • i love your videos but you talk to long at the star but part from that love it!

  • thanks lady.... no i know why my nail polish peels....

  • I just (waiting for it to dry) tryed this whit a red colour... and must say, SO HARD! >.<

but your vid is verry helpfull :) thank you!

  • AAAHHHH!!!! I always wondered why my Seche Vite caused major peeling on my nails!! I was applying it once they were all dry!!!

  • @LipRouge I used to think the same thing until someone told me why it happened!

  • i LOVE ur vids!

  • @123skittulz321 Thank you!

  • are those your real nails

  • @abiapples1 Yes

  • Amazing tutorial, I am going to try it right now !

  • what does a cream nail polish mean?

  • @iAmThatGirl2173 Cream is the finish of the polish meaning no shimmer or sparkle.

  • @szuchnic Or you could say it's matte and that it doesn't reflect light.

  • @KaTieZCrAZyCasTZ Matte is an entirely different finish in nailpolishes. Matte for nail polish means that the polish dries and stay matte or flat (it kind of looks like a chalkboard texture when dry). Matte polishes can have sparkle and shimmer with nail polish and still be called Matte. Google 'matte nail polish' and 'cream nail polish' and look at the images for a better understanding.

  • what do you meanby 'cream' colour ? bdw beautiful nail tutorial :D

  • @RedHeadWeasleyLover Cream is the finish of the polish meaning no shimmer or sparkle.

  • Would love to see this with neutral colors

  • Great tutorial, thanks! And they turned out beautiful! :)

  • Wow ! that Seche top coat is the best because my nail designs last longer and my nails dont chip but thats just my personal opinion : )

  • How do you stop your polish from bubbling?

  • @pxedst01 Don't shake it! Roll in between your palms to avoid bubbles.

  • @szuchnic bubbles have nothing to do with shaking. Bubbles occur when you try to paint over a layer that has not properly dried yet. So, to prevent bubbles, wait until the previous coat is touchably dried before continuing your next coat.

  • @TheEff FYI:There are actually three reasons that bubbles can be present. One of them is your reason, one is mine and the other is moisture on your nail.

  • Very helpful!

  • very informative!!

  • i really like this effect, but i find that klairedelysart's tutorial gives better results. you will need more time and items, but the results are more vivid. just a suggestion of course. on the flip side i use the fairy dust by china glaze!!

  • can you do like a sun set on them for me

  • this reminds me of alice in wonderland(: does this work with short nails not even past the tip of the nail?

  • @pinkfeet518 Yup! With shorter nails just divide your nail into thirds instead of quarters like I did in the video!

  • :D:D:D Alice in wonderland :D:D:D That´s goood :D

  • do you need to let each layer dry first before applying the next layer?

  • The layers are pretty thin so they dry quickly. The only layer that I let dry completely was the dark tip.

  • wow how many layers are that?

  • Someone told me it was nine. but you have to think that technicall only the very tip of your nail would have all the layers. Also, the layers should be applied thin!

  • I just love love ur tutorials...

I can do my left hand nails just fine, I need ur expertise on polishing your left w/ ur right hand nails? I cant do it, please help?

  • Practice doing things with your non-dominant hand! Brush your teeth that way, reach for things that way;basically work on improving your cooridination with your opposite hand!

  • @szuchnic oh my goshh that sooo helpful! i never thought of that! thanks so much!

  • If I wanted to do this on the tip would I just do half the nail like that?

  • Yup!

  • i have a question, after each layer do you wait for the polish to dry? thanks

    p.s i LOVE your tutorials :P

  • The only layer I waited after was the tip because it was a bit thicker than the other layers. Generally the layers are thin enough that you shouldn't need to wait. If you are concerned then there is no harm in waiting!

  • I've watched a ton of videos on the fading effect for nails, yours may actually work for me. : D Thanks for sharing. : D

  • can i do it woth black and grey?

is it easy with matt colours?

  • Black and grey would be lovely!

  • can i do that fading with matt colours?

    sorry 4 my english

  • Matte colors would be a lot more difficult to work with only because they dry very quickly. With this design you need to allow time in between the layers that you generally don't get with mattes. It cant hurt to try though!

  • thank you 4 your help..!

  • That was really cool! I wish my nails were longer so I could do that.

  • You can do it with short nails just do less layers or smaller sections!

  • I like your technique a lot better than some others I ve seen. The end result is much more clean looking. Thanks!

  • Thank you!

  • i subscribed! i love all your videos!! and this is the best fading one i have seen! you should have a nail contest

  • Oh! I just had a contest about a month ago--but there will be others! Thanks for subbing!

  • Great tutorial. I have been looking for one on exactly this type of technique for a while but I could only find videos on how to do each nail in a different shade. Thanks allot.

  • great! will try this next time :)

  • best nail gradient tutorial hands down! no pun intended.

  • great! i subbed

  • okay so if i have a hot pink color for the tip and the fiary dust for the ending...which color should i use for the fading?

  • Hmmm...you could used a sheer pink or orange-- From china glaze the pink that comes to mind is "Fiji Fling" ....I don't own all too many sheers because I usually don't wear them alone which is why this one is hard for my to answer. From OPI "I Pink I love you" may work as well--hope this helps!

  • Oh my gosh! i did this by painting my nail white and a purple tip with pink that faded up. then i added some glitter and it looked sooo pretty (: thanks so much and this was a great idea (: !!!!!

  • does nail magic really work? I've hear alot of bad reviews of it.

  • It seems to be a very hit or miss product. I read reviews both good and bad too ao trying it was just a leap of faith. It works wonderfully for my nails but what works for my nails might not work for yours. It's very similar to hair or skin products--you can't really know until you try it. Most nail hardeners seem to be hit or miss. With me OPI hardeners cause more peeling then I previously had--I know it sounds repetitive but the only way to know if it will work for you is by giving it a try...

  • I am currently trying another nail hardener just for the heck of it and I am sure you will see it in some upcoming videos--thanks for your question!

  • omg you are great at painting!!!

  • Would this work using black as the first dark tip color and then using your color choice for the next layers? Would this keep the tip from getting too light from the layers of the sheer color?

  • I think you could get away with using black for colors that are deeper like dark greens, purples, navies etc. but with oranges, yellows, red, and the like you actually will see the black line. I like to use a color in the same family to avoid there being a very strong line of seperation between the tip and the gradient polishes.

  • thats really pretty

  • the effect is excellent! they look as gel nails! ;-)

  • wow, this is amazing

  • i love the colors and great tut.!

i tried this and it really worked thanks so much!

  • This could actually be a good trick to help keep you nails from breaking also! Nice idea!

  • thanks! im gonna try this!

  • that is soooooo CUTE! i love the colors! good job = )

  • did anyone notice as i did -- that was a good 9 layers of polish coats!!! wouldn't that nail design just peel straight off soon as it dries?!

  • All the layers are quite thing and dry very quickly so when you put the next layer on, except at the end the previous layer is already dry. It doesn't peel--at least it never has for me. If you pile the polish on then yes, absolutely it will peel. Thanks for counting--I had never bothered.

  • wow that's so great :D

i saw such nails somewhere and didn't know how to do it. now i do thanks :)

  • soooo beautiful.....!!!

  • absolutely beautiful!

  • AWESOME AND COOL TO WATCH

  • Awesome tut!

  • This is a beatuiful design!! i love it!

  • I'm so trying that!, too cute to pass up!

  • does this look good even when you do it with two complete diffrent colours?? thx

  • Hmmm...I think the colors should be in the same family otherwise you risk the color combination (when you overlap). For instance if you did yellow and purple it would look brown. Combo's that should work: green/blue, yellow/green, orange/red, etc. Thanks for the question!

  • very pretty!

  • great nails! i gotta do them too!!

  • love it!

  • you have so much nail polish

  • Thank you for this tutorial! It takes a bit of time, but the results are gorgeous! I did a tiffany blue tip faded to very light green at the base, and people keep asking how I did it. Supa dupa!

  • thanks !

  • you are so pretty

  • Thank you!

  • I love this tutorial, i wrote you the same via twitter and i'm glad to repeat: this is the best tutorial i found on the net!

  • Thanks again!

  • cool:-)

  • Thanks, very helpful I might try this!

  • Thanks for watching!

  • Ooo I had seen a tutorial on how to do aquarium false nails which you basically sandwich together 2 nails and inject glitter and blue tinted sterile water between. They used 2 clear nails but I didn't like the look, I wanted to do a painted background nail but I couldn't think of how to paint it so it didn't look plain. When I get around to doing it I will have to try this gradient on it, I think it would look awesome!

  • this is awesome! good job

  • i LOVE this look! how long did you wait between colors? i have zero patience and always end up smearing/smudging!

  • I let the dark blue tip dry completely so 3mins, then just did the lighter layers waiting about a minute in between. They layers weren't very thick though so they dried quickly--The smeared look would work in your favor on this one :0)

  • I really like this look.

  • I'm glad!

  • this is really pretty!! =D

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks!

  • cool! ill have to try this!
