It kind of reminds me of when I was about 7 or 8 years old and I was hiding from my mom. Her voice hadn't changed. I heard her calling me. In the same turn I think it wasn't G-d's voice that had changed either...it was "their hearing" that had changed. I think their sight changed too. Mostly their "in"sight. When my mom got ahold of me, my insight changed dramatically...LOL... my hearing did too. It got a lot better.
