  • I just wanna see a Brown Hyena try to attack a Cape Fur Seal Now.

  • @Vee640

You're pretty much only stating what you've heard through "word of mouth" and lion king.

  • @Vee640

Please stfu with your extreme lack of knowledge and learn more. I've been to Africa, stood for 6 months and also found out Hyenas are much more successful hunters than lions. And in fact lions scavenge off of them often. So learn your facts.

  • hyenas looks like a ghost.......or ghost in hyenas face

  • EMBARRASSING!! I am 28 years old and only today found out that there's a third variety of hyena (And also a 4th called Aardwolf)..Only striped hyenas are native to the country I live in and Discovery Channel only shows Spotted Hyenas of Africa.....Damn, and I used to think I know really all members of the cat and canine family!! Well, feels bad this brown variety is near-threatened category.

  • This dumb-fuck Afrikaaner game guide doesn't know shit, but is still trying to act like he's an authority on animals.

  • Oh wow he looks pretty scary

  • Sorry but you have alot of comments wrong in this video. They are called clans not packs. Also they are not hunters they are scavengers. They only hunt during periods of drought when there is no food availability and even then it is only hares or other small mammals. Great footage though thankyou for sharing, its nice to see them in daylight.

  • what a horrible mofo!!!!

  • where was this

  • هذا ضبع عربى

  • @ahmad1d لا هذا الضبع البني . الضبع العربي هو الضبع المرقط

  • this is getting hot

  • Brown hyena hit the jackpot!

  • WHERE DO YOU LIVE?!?!?!

  • wow brown hyena looks scary but i think its smaller than spotted is it true or they same size??

  • @rodtorre7 They are a little smaller yes.

  • Not going to lie.. Brown Hyena's looks scary as hell. Just watched a BBC about them.

If you got comcast --- find BBC and there's a small bit about them under the meat eating mammals thing.

  • it's just like us stopping off for a kebab-except more hygenic! ha ha only kidding kebab stall owners!

  • Omg it looks demonic. There have been theories that a brown hyena was the real Beast of Gevaudan. A pair of "beasts" killed around 130 people in the mid 1700's in France, tearing off the limbs and heads of people as they fed. Wolves don't have the jaw strength to do that, but a hyena...

  • @Tsarevna303: Wolves have been known to crack moose femurs in two in 6-8 bites.

  • @BHHerper and hyenas eat bone in one or two bites

  • @SaberWingDragon I realize that, but in the 1600's in France, a pack of wolves struck fear around the city, until they were finally pelted with stones. They killed over 600 people.

  • @BHHerper oh, yeah, thats believable, lolz i didn't know thats what you were talking about. I thought you were trying to say that wolves were stronger or something. My bad.

  • @SaberWingDragon Oh, no. :P SPotted hyenas have a more compact build than wolf, besides the powerful jaw strength.

  • @BHHerper yeah, not to mention they fight to the death haha

    sorry for the mixup :D

  • @BHHerper Even if that is true, neck vertebrae are a heck of a lot stronger than leg bones. Moose trip and fall into holes and break their legs alot, but how often does a fall break a moose's neck, or a horses? Vertebrae are very strong in comparison to other types of bones. Only predators with extremely (proprtionately) powerful jaw muscles ever bite the back of the neck to kill large prey. Cougars, jaguars, hyenas and lions come to mind. Everything else goes for the throat, flanks and legs.

  • @Tsarevna303 Cougars biteforce are week, and their prey's is small, so it's probably not that difficult for them.

  • his brown hyena looks very funny XD

  • *this

  • poor giraffe there my fav animail

  • i don't saw yet a real brown hyena but i've watch on t.v. how a brown hyena ferociously kills seal pups...

  • By the way Spazkitty is completely right.

    Great research ;)

  • Well I personally have lived in the Kalahari desert for 7 years studying Browns...have you?

They do live in clans and help take care of young together.

  • they live in afiac i didnt know thast

  • listen dejordan i fucking live in south africa and know alot about wildlife so dont act like u know all about our wildlife

  • wrong..they are not solidtary animals they live in clans...not as big as spotted hyenas though...between 4-15 can live in a clan

  • @desjardin350 What's the diffrents between them? :-P

  • LOL

  • Question - what is the leader of a brown hyena clan - a male or a female?

  • Brown and Striped hyenas do not live in large clans like Spotted hyenas. They are solitary or in small family groups. Very diffrent social dynamic than the Spotted.

  • You are incorrect. A simple google search will show you that new research has shown the brown hyena to be more communal than isolated - they often have small clans of 4-15 members. Either a dominant male or dominant breeding pair leads; females are not dominant over males as in spotted hyena clans.

  • As far as I can discover there is a dominant breeding pair

  • the males are slightly bigger than the females so the males lead a brown hyena clan

  • @hickmantaylor no all hyena females are bigger than the males

  • @zorachild9: Actually, only spotted hyena females are larger than males.

  • oh ok sorry no harm done :D

  • @hickmantaylor I pretty sure only the spotted hyenas live in clans. The other 3 living speciesof hyena do not live in clans, and prefer to roam alone.

  • @TheREALSoffish The three others species of hyena live in small family group of 3-5, but they always forage alone.

  • I love them ! ! !

  • HAHAHAHAH
