  • There is 24 hours in a day and that phone is only lasting eight hours. That isnt good.

  • recording the droid using an iphone..

  • @SimonLee1125 just what i was about to say

  • lol recorded using iPhone and why does it always take a while on the droid to load some menus? I am having the same problem...

  • lol epic.. filming the droid system with an Iphone.. lol

  • i was curious does this phone turn on in your pocket or unlock sometimes cause i have some stupid ass phone that does that all day and uses up all the battery.

  • wow how ironic. your making the video with the iphone haha

  • way to show your phone number at 0:51

  • Haha! The Droid made the Iphone 3Gs it's bitch! Lol!

  • hmmm i wonder how much apple is paying this guy. I just got finished reading mr. Nguyen's review on the S.G. site and all throughout it were iphone references you would swear he worked for apple. I fully understand that sometimes one must make comparisons to standards

  • but in my opinion mr. nguyen takes this a bit too far! c'mon the man is basically advertising for apple with this footage. this is just sleazy to me. for once can i please get an unbiased review whatever happened to professionalism

  • i know, right: this video is "uploaded from iphone"

  • lolzz i like how u have the two rival phones and your video tapein it with one of them lol

  • lol iphone!

  • the iphones video quality is not that great

  • It looks pretty good, but I think the iphone's overall quality of use is superior. Keep working on it, though, I'd like to see a real solid comparable phone.

  • You are, you just don't know it. Apple's fancy UI is the only thing still making it look good but in terms of hardware and features the droid has more.

  • Of course it has more in that regard. It's the same thing with Macs and PCs. Microsoft only knows how to compete by being cheap and selling through venders with better hardware, but they lack in quality and user experience. That's the difference. Until apple competitors can be truly innovative and provide a better user experience, their products will be good, but they won't be "iPhone killer" good.

  • Eventually they'll see that you can't simply throw more stuff into a product to make it better. Just like it isn't the number of tracks you add to a song that makes it better, it's the composition of the tracks you do have, that does.

  • I disagree. You should see my pc. Apple products are form over function, that's all. That's also why Microsoft has over 92% of the market.

I like the Droid over the iphone, not only because of better features but because it's something different. It's also nice not to be locked into what apple thinks is best for you. Btw, apple regularly copies ideas as well, they just put it into a nicer package than most and their marketing is very good.

  • Apple does take form seriously, both in physical design and operational compostion. Microsoft has the majority marketshare by sheer momentum, but not necessarily by having the superior product.

I also think apple could benefit by making themselves more open, but that is hardly a defending statement for Microsoft. And when I see the droid, and its functions, I don't see something different. I see a respectable effort, and a respectable phone- a product of years of companies attempting

  • To build up something worthy of consideraton, and they're getting there, but I've yet to see something that compares, most importantly, in user experience and functionality, but also overall design and fluidity of said functionality. The droid is a tried and true design, that builds itself off of existing mediocrity, to supply us with the best these companies can do, making slow but consistent improvement, but far from the best in general.

  • Well I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

  • I'm okay with that. In the end, they are just gadgets.

  • wtf... Motorola!?

  • lol...how ironic...using the iphone to shoot a DROID video.

  • i can't count anymore how many times Verizon made an "Iphone Killers" and failed everytime....this phone will just be another junk after a year....which is what Verizon known for "Quanity over Quality"

  • Nice video. Wonder how many people have called him at his number:

908-809-3888 to thank him for the nice review.

BTW I really liked the video from the plane taken with the Droid by SlashGear. Thanks!

  • see now im on the fence i was going to switch over to get the iphone but might stay for the droid now ...ps i found it funny how u were using the iphone to record the droid

  • Dear Slashgear-

Could you please make a video showing off the built in facebook functionality? and also show us what it's like taking pictures, actually TAKE a few of them, and also record some video, and show us what it's like.

    Thanks

  • need more long batt life gadgets

  • filming on ur iphone 3gs white

  • ahhhh... dont know if i should get one now or wait!!!

  • dont be a wuss and get one, i wish i live in u.s and be able to get myself one.

The only disappointing thing for me regarding the droid is that the screen size as not wide as the iphone which means that the virtual keyboard is still annoying to type with

  • Thats hilarious that you used an iphone to film this :) Looking forward to the Droid release! Looks amazing

  • Wow the usage hours are pretty good, better than my 3GS, my average for heavy usage on my 3GS is only around 4 hours.

  • Did the app that shows how much usage each program, or the display use come on the phone? If not where did you get it?

  • nice
