Great, so NOW the animal's characters (incl the new ones) have got so stupid (no doubt the dumming down for the kid audience-so much for kids handling more these days) they're not offing them. Mossy & Toad both fell victims to the rats in the books. When the series was serious (Series 1&2) they killed animals left right & centre & it was as nasty (& often unnecessary as hell-i.e no rabbits died on the journey & there were more hedgehogs), but it was a serious show once. Least Owl's nice now!
