this fuckin show has been on 4 6yrs and other than blake's father you never herd a word of another family member....now all of a sudden we hear all this shit about the black sheep ben...wtf!!!
The Colbys were all wrong right from the start. I think a more interesting Dynasty spin off would have been if they took Dominique (who was never developed to her full potential) and gave her a series of her own about the music industry. Think American Idol meets Dynasty. Singing and catfights. It would have been the mega hit of the century. LOL!
@nosuchpersonvideo yes...the name of show could have been dominque and should have stared her and billy-dee williams.....the problem was at that time aside from the cosby show, we had no blacks on the air in starring roles and they were not willing to take a chance.....if they had allowed dominque to behave like a true bitch i think the show would have stood a chance...
Keep in mind that this was the beginning of the Colbys spinoff. I think the Colbys and Dynasty would've lasted longer than they did had more writers and crew been brought aboard to keep both shows vital and alive. This is why Dallas and Knots Landing were separately successful, especially after Knots Landing went off in its own direction. It did so because there wasn't one crew of writers split between two series.
lookin at this episode allows me to kind of understand how the writers might have thought this whole plot would work about the colbys not recognizing fallon. if blake and jason haven't spoke and twenty years and ceciel was probably astranged from the colbys about being cut out of the will and ceciel took jeff under he's wing as a young boy. it would kinda make sense. there's plenty of relatives in the world that dont get along and are not active in each other lives at all.
But those relatives aren't also public figures that are in the society pages every other week. Also, the Carringtons and the Colbys may not have had much to do with each other, but they move in the same circles and would have to at least run into each other every so often.
Charlton Heston played Moses in The Ten Commandments where he preached The Ten Commandments, now he's busy on The Colbys, breaking them... lol
