omg! ha... when I was little, my Dad watched this movie, and I watched it with him and the old man saying "YOU WANT SOME DOGS!!?!" traumatized me! It made me sooooo scared and my dad always teased me with saying that, god. that reallyyy scared me ahhah! i never forgot. So i went back and asked him the name of that movie today. Hah... Now i wanna see it.

This movie is awesome. And I agree with many of you that this movie should not have received the poor ratings it did. It is ghoulish in many parts, but quite funny as well. Alvin's house is very creative and well-done and it does look like what a place would look like after accumulating objects since the 1890s. In a way it is reminiscent of a comedy version of the 2003 movie "Wrong Turn." Call it Wrong Turn 0.1.

Shire Reeve is the man. They were originally going to call this movie "Valkenvania" and I think they should have. The title "Nothing but Trouble" is too ambiguous and generic.

Well what can i say! today people laughs much more when they see a naked guy that sticks a worm pie in his balls than movies like that one,that its actualy a smarter film.Don get me wrong i have see american pie to and liked it allot,but i dont actualy compare this comedy with a masterpiece like nothing but trouble.older comedies like this one was over the top all the time.

I love that movie so much that i also have an original copy of the film on a dvd as well i understand that the movie dont deserve an oscar but at least an emmy would be cool! it has an ocward and smart style that makes you to think if its a horror flick or a comedy.I hope warner bros will deside to release that one on a blue ray with some spesial features it deserves it,because i see many newer junk comedies coming to the selves of the stores in blue ray's just for show off.

I dont understand why on earth they put that movie on one of the worst?! For me as a kid and even as an adult now its one of the smartest comedies of all times,with dan acroid plays double role and john candy ofcourse,and then we have demi moore and chevi chase on the run.For the time that was made it was a great movie and i think that the people out there dont apreciate much the fact that some great actors like dan acroyd actualy have talend!

@djAmericantoast178 Its easy in the end of the film judge alvin was have the luck to inherit from the old mine lava some oil and he has found cris identity so he can actualy go to new york to his grant son denis and search for cris as well.I love this film i dont understand how it went so wrong in the box ofice!

I'm in my 50's and still love this movie. I've memorized nearly every one of the Judge's lines and use 'em on my kids. My all time favorite comedy. Dan Ackroyd is a genius !!

My kids LOVED this movie. They wore out 2 VHS copies of it. Why it was a box

office flop we don't have a clue EXCEPT for the fact IT MAY REMIND FOLKS

TOO MUCH OF PEOPLE THEY KNOW.

The entire film is a stereotype of small rust belt towns populated with

misanthropic oddballs who, because of generations of poverty, have learned

to live with "unfortunate" relatives and mentally challenged "officials".

"Terrifying"? COME ON! Its a COMEDY making fun of northern rednecks!

@StanleySweet14 Yes it creeped me out, I have been trying to figure out for years what movie this was, luckly someone on Yahoo Answers was able to help me out. All I remember was the toxic dump under the house and the judges nose coming off lol. It does look creepy, I barely remember it, I was 9 at the time likely when I saw it or 10, maybe i just saw parts of it and that is why I cannot remember it.
