  • three people are total morrons..... {'-'}"

  • the three people who dislike this have no soul

  • Sitting on a swing-set on Hillcrest hill, shroomin', watching the midwest sunset on June 21st, 1981 and listening to this masterpiece......

  • You don't need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd. You just need masterpiece like this!

  • I used to listen to this like you...until I took an arrow to the knee...

  • In Soviet Russia the sun sets the control for your heart...

  • Lysergic acid diethylamide!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nikos7doukou can you get me some?

  • insane, absolutely insane, just floyd to do this ... yeah !!

  • just listened to this song high, AND WHAT A TRIP!!

  • Absolutely the most beautiful song I have ever heard in my life ever since the age 15. Those two people don't understand tripping, and never had the trip it requires to understood whats being said here...and THAT IS SAD! Actually, there is more than few people in this world who say they don't like this, and that because they've been taught that their opinion is paramount to their perception, which is not true: quite the opposite. Its between this song and "The Oenone," from Zabriskie Point.

  • Water's first masterpiece along with The Floyd.

  • Second favorite song - because I am delusional, and in love with Gwyneth Paltrow. Now if my Gwynnies sang this song with the Floyd, all would be tao. ;)

  • 2 people do not like Music!!!

  • WOW ....THANXS YOUTUBE PEOPLES

  • great song to drop acid to

  • Here, I took away from me, a collection of sounds. and the great people that brought them together, and their creation, which led thousands to thank everyone everything.

  • A classic track and no mistake !

I couldent resist giving it a different spin .... check out my 'expandis' version

    comments always welcome!!!

  • One of my fave Floyd tracks too, love it! Roger did it 'live' at Earls Court in '84, but Eric Clapton on guitar made a mess of it, no feeling in it at all. This is good to listen to when not so sober & on ahem.. y'know what I'm talkin about..lol.. Since Roger 'has something to say' as Rick put it, he hasn't really written any long surreal tracks since, but then again.. Syd would've heavily influenced early stuff.

  • not compared to my mic in my ass, reeealy deep

  • Roger Waters!

  • Pink Floyd! Flipped the script on so many levels. Took the beatles sound and made it appropriate. The provacative sound reigns on! Set the control..

  • Thanx. Icould listened to it in 2007. R.W. on tour in Cologne. Great!

  • thumps up if u'll force your grandchildren to listen to this!!!

  • @LordRacing16 never with this, but I remember doing it with Careful With That Axe Eugene.

  • @LordRacing16 No one should be forced to do anything, including coming into this world.

  • @LordRacing16 I have no grandchildren, but I think it would do the same

  • 2 people did not set their controls correctly...

  • One of my favourite Floyd tracks, I just love the atmosphere/mood of it, and it`s one of the best song titles of all time.

  • didn't realize as a kid how tribal this groove was

  • not a good song to smoke to. unless you like spinning out!

  • Comment removed

  • That crecendo is just MAD! Wow...

  • Pink Floyd is timeless...it transcends all. When and if you were born is irrelevant.

  • About to light a joint, going to relax at my tub, get deep inside your feelings

  • if you listen this while you visit Pompei...it's impossible to explain

  • aaah the phrygian mode is so beautiful

  • @Naiqvist It's ecsatic! phrygian is a drop of magic! :D

  • I'm never going to be an astronaut, but at least I have this.

  • 2 people have no heart

  • Y'know what's just plain epic?

Each of Pink Floyd's songs either have very few dislikes or none at all.

So the world does, in fact, have pretty great taste in music. :3

  • @Animalqueen123XD

Disliking PinkFloyd would be like a complete BS :)

  • @Animalqueen123XD

Disliking PinkFloyd would be complete BS.

  • Une partie de ma vie. Inoubliable... ce morceau particulièrement, et tout l'album. J'ai des frissons en l'écoutant. Pink Floyd restera LE plus grand groupe pour moi. LOVE YOU SO !

Breaking the Darkness, Waking the Grapevine,

    Miniature pathways, miniature shadows,

Love is the chateau that ripens the Wine.

Set the controls for the Heart of the Sun.

Now go read the books listed on my profile, and see the hidden meaning of these lyrics. The veil covering the Truth grows thinner with every moment.

  • green animal slave women.

  • the last dream is a must see

  • The way I see it the only way a band could make music like this and a few other cuts like careful with that axe, saucerful and the like is for the band to have a conscious or subconscious connection to the source or God

  • fucking, play snake when listening to this high. shit gets FUCKING INTENSE

  • @RSRatornra :) i find that good music and video games are 2 of the best things when high...other than sex.

  • @Bushidoforthesoul add frosted brownies to the list

  • i have that lp record:O

  • green animal slave women

  • i love pink floyd

  • This song is mind numblingly good. It's one of the only songs that I HAVE to listen to several times in a row and I never get tired of it.

  • @bobbywingood

    You clearly have impeccable taste

  • @bobbywingood I love weed.

  • Rocky Erickson claimed this song was lifted from "Roller Coaster" by the 13th Floor Elevators.

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen

    Who is Rocky Erickson?

  • @nickhirst999 a member of the 13th floor elevators, then he had mental illness, and now has had rehibilitation, now a long time solo artist. look up Roky Erickson on wikipedia...

  • this music is so amazingly timeless it feels like it could have been made a thousand years ago or mabye a thousand years into the future...or mabye it has always been :P

  • @mrevilcactus

    I just couldn't agree more

  • The ultimate audio orgasm.

  • @SenorSpode

Yep! I agree with that too!

  • @SenorSpode

Yeah and it would be even better if it wasn't uploaded in fucking 240p...

  • @NoiDontWantFries True, but the audio appeals to me more. Not many full-length versions of this song here on YT. Kewl nick, BTW!

  • Never mind. Didn't realize this was the live version. Sorry.

  • @WimGrundy First thing I thought too! It's perfect in mood, title... everything lol.

  • pink floyd is gonna be here in mexico in december 18 im gonna fucking go! i dont imagine myself diyng without being to a pink floyd concert.

  • Pure space . . .this is great!

  • who's the crazy-person that gave this song a thumbs down?

  • @nattin18 Probably a nickelback fan!

  • I have this double album on vinyl since 1979,80.... original cover photo album...

  • Luckily nobody hit the dislike button

  • wow!!!! one of Floyds greats

  • Floyd is god.

  • very ancient and ritualistic like bu ti love it ,i bet many a floyd fan sat and stared at a lava lamp and a hooka pipw with this one

  • Don't need one. Music like this chills the mind and soul enough by itself, IMO. :)

  • wish I joint to smoke for this.

  • How I wish....how I wish I'd been there at this gig! Alas I was only 2 months old when this was recorded.

This is the REAL Pink Floyd

  • In my opinion there are 3 Pink Floyd 'genras' if you will...

There was the original lineup (That had Syd Barrett) where they were whimsical.

Then when Syd Barrett started to lose his mind Roger Waters took over and started making this part of Pink Floyd (including Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here)

Then theres when Roger Waters made the music very mellow and dark (Animals and The Wall)

Personally my favorite stuff was from this album all the way to Wish You Were Here)

  • Actually, I totally agree with you. I think that at this stage, live, they were functioning really well as a band. After Dark Side, the audience changed so much that they couldn't play with such subtlety because of people shouting out for "Money" etc.

  • origanaly pf waz supposto have a diffrent deal ever album tat is why each album that waz relesed in a diffrent ghonra is in a diffrent time look at the reles dates of the albums the 1s that sound alike are relest around the same time but like umaguma and the wall wish you were heer all that stuff was relest in a diffret time scale

  • mening all the albums are diffrent

  • @DespondentGuitarist bitch you said it

  • @nickhirst999

I guess I was 17 when this came out - but I missed it too! I was only 15 when Pipers at the Gates of Dawn came out - missed that too. But I own all of their music, and from way back then until the very now, it is always the real Pink Floyd - all bands evolve. But yes, the early Floyd was especially enthralling to those who indulged in psychotropic excursions,...back in the day,...wink, wink!

  • @nickhirst999 hey dont feel too bad i wasnt even thought of this was done 20 years before i was born

  • @nickhirst999

    without syd barrett tough..

  • @michtyman1

Yep that's what I meant! The REAL Pink Floyd

  • @nickhirst999 I was negative 11 when this was recorded LOL

  • @bbeboutuaa I was about 18 and catchin a serious buzz whenever I could! 8)

  • @nickhirst999 1971 - a bunch of us had migrated from Milwaukee to Berkeley and we had two apts on or near Channing Way, that magic year when lots of kids had dropped out of college and every freeway on-ramp in CA had its hitchhikers. The places where we lived would still seem like some Middle East hippie heaven today - this track and others drifting through the fun afternoons and soft nights - saw Pink Floyd at tiny Winterland and Led Zeppelin at the Berkeley High Auditorium. It was a AWESOME!!

  • @dakersting i am soooo jealous...

  • @gem6621 yes gem - I never forget how lucky I am to have lived that whole thing - growing up with rock & roll. Joey Dee and the Starlighters played for almost two hours for about 50 kids at one of my eighth-grade's dance-parties, when "Peppermint Twist" was the hottest. I saw a Beatles concert in '64, when I was 16 - turned 19 just before the Summer of Love - hitch-hiked to Haight-Ashbury. ETC. ETC. ETC. I'm just as lucky now, but it's way more solitary - nothing like the "scene" of those years.

  • @nickhirst999 you were two months and in 25 years i was going to born

  • @nickhirst999 , me too matey. floyd is in my blood. syd for ever. he and waters was floyd . allways will be . in my heart man .

  • @nickhirst999 light one up and get creative! don't matter when you were born!

  • @nickhirst999 Apparently it has had some effect on you afterall since you are listening this ;P

  • @nickhirst999 I do like post- Barret Pink Floyd but this was the true one

  • Un capolavoro del "900

  • The ultimate early space music adventure.

  • lol nice

  • @eameece idk UFO had some good stuff
