Sigh...it amazes me that posters compare this 'kit-car' to 'mega-financed' machines. Face it, what Ultima have achieved is purely and simply this: 'Amazing super-car beating performance' at a fraction of the cost of what the numbers would suggest. AND, at the same time the same vehicle can be driven daily on regular roads...a truly great accomplishment!

@IntoxicateMeMrOwl No it wouldn't. Unless we are talking like SW's car maybe but this thing would mop the floor with any Supra, GTR or Corvette on the road. It run's 9.7's with the 600hp LS1 engine, keep in mind the fastest Ultima GTR has over 1300hp Twin Turbo LS6 motor and its topspeed is beyond 230mph and only god knows what it runs in the 1/4mile. Its currently the fastest car in the standing mile in europe beating out the fastest Supra in europe.

@Tomek2581 Hell yeah man I was preaching this 8 years ago. I'm a big Porsche enthusiast. But yeah people should take a look at racing history before they make some outrageous comments, lol. The Porsche 917 were so successful they had to OutLaw them. 1973 Porsche 917/30 1500hp - 0-60 happening in 1.9 seconds, 0-200 in 10.9 seconds and top speeds in the 250 mph neighborhood.

Theres something to be said for classy yet exotic! Im not knocking the GTR, but there is only ONE Veyron. The Veyron is the car which all others are judged against.

Yes Ultima GTR is the fastest car in the world round a track. Only car in a straight line that can beat it is the veyron and it beat that by over 7 seconds a lap on a 1.09.9 lap in the ultima. :)

caparo t1s are faster than ultimas =p. The caparo did 1:10.6 with no slicks on topgear lap. The ultima with no slicks only did 1:12. It needed slicks to do 1:09.Caparo with slicks will do in the region of 1:06.
