I wish you could teach me in person. I need to wear make-up now as I am getting old. ha ha ha. I have freckles so always went natural but I really need someting now. My niece works at Nordstroms at the Mac sounter.. She gave me some eye shadows and taught me how to use them but then she left and I can't do it. I am so bad with make-up. hee hee. Great video. Please make more.
Again, this is SO incredibly helpful and well explained - your videos really are invaluable and I hope they remain on YT forever! Long live pixiwoo! :)
PS - LOL @ your "wrong blending technique" noises :)
you should get a sample of mac studio fix foundation; its their heaviest foundation and i used it all summer here in florida and it stayed on quiet well :)
I have a question. Does putting the pointy bits of the brush in your socket supposed to hurt? I got a blendy brush and tried this technique but it left my lids all red and sore, and I wasn't even pressing hard. Maybe I just got a crappy brush.. Please reply! x
I don't think I have said in any of my other comments that I have left for your channel that I think you are unbelievably sexy. Some how I think at some time in your life you have heard the word MILF!! and I am a woman and not gay but I just thought it needed to be said!! 2 kids? WOW!! Just wait until they start school, you will hear that word a ton!!
This is the best tutorial for hooded eyes I have seen so far!!! Mostly they tell you to create a crease...??? which on me just looked... wrong... But the look you showed really works for me!!! So thank you!!! By the way, any technique looks good on you, you have very beautiful eyes!! xx
Great tutorial, really instructive! I actually find that I prefer the shape for the hooded eye, eventhough I don't have hooded eyes myself). It just looks a bit more elegant, sort of understated compared to the normal eye design.
hey samantha can u pls tel us the importance of doing makeup in the right tight type of light...n 4 everyday makeup what according 2 u is the best form of light 4 doing makeup
I feel like I just had a private makeup lesson. This is, without a doubt, the MOST HELPFUL video I've seen! THANK YOU for the demonstration and verbal explanations. FANTASTIC
This is the first time I've really understood why my gradient shadow looks that move across the lid look good, but my light lid/dark crease looks don't. I've been trying to draw a socket line where there wasn't one for years--now I understand how to really work with my hooded eyes! Thank you!
I've posted on this before, but just HAD to, again. For sure, this is, hands down, the VERY best eye shadow blending video I've EVER seen before. I've saved it to my favorites and it has helped me so, SO much!! Thank you for every video you make on here!!!!!
I followed along w/ this video and then tried a couple more times after, and I am shocked how simple it was for me. I have never been very good at blending, so i shyed from any brighter or darker colors. Now I can use all of my fabulous make up that's just been sitting in a drawer. Thank you soooooo much for posting this video!
I absolutely looooove this video! You look gorgeous with either eye shadow look. Did anyone ever tell you you look like Rachel Weiz? :) Thank you so much for sharing all your make up tricks!
Oh my gosh that was great! You really helped me a lot. These techniques are what I watch youtube videos for. This is real knowledge that I think can help not only aspiring makeup artists, but consumers as well! You guys are seriously amazing.
Do you think someone could use the eye looks in reverse? I am Asian, but I have eyes similar to yours. I often do what you did on your right eye, with a darker color in the crease. I wonder if I could do the one meant for mono lids.
P.S. its so crazy how different both techniques are. They seem so simple and yet they both give such different results!!! I am going to try both. Thanks again!
for people with mono lids i've found that it looks just as good if they cut an artificial crease which with an angled brush and then blend that upwards towards the brow (however that may require a bit more skill). And people with hooded lids need to avoid shimmery colours as that catches light and emphasises the droopy skin...it is better to use matte+dark colours on the crease and light wash on the lid
Awesome video this is totally helpful as i have slightly hooded eyes where sometimes you cant see much of my socket at certain angles, I can't wait to try out this technique
thank you! lovely. i think i like your tutorials the best, very informative and you seem to have such an authority and actually know what you're doing. and i like that you're not too peppy :)
I own the M.A.C 'Gesso' (the matte white shadow) and I find it really difficult to get a good colour pay off from it, any suggestions? Cos yours has gone on super white. x
i have gesso as well and when i want it to look super white, i apply a white eyeliner underneath it. i just bought a cheap dollar eyeliner from the drugstore. it works great.
thank you so much for this! so considerate of you to think about those of us who don't have much of a crease/eye socket :D i love the look of the monolid version, it's really exotic & sultry!
Thank you so, so much for making this tutorial. I've been looking for a good, easy to follow and understand blending tutorial and this was just what I needed. Finally, an easy to follow video that even I--an Autistic--can understand and follow. Most make-up artists make it sound and look so complicated.

very strange: i am usually a huge huge fan, and a happy subbie, but i did not get this video very well, i have got severly droopy eyes, i am not sure just placing the colour close to the lashes line is going to define my eyes enough. I think I am sticking to keep on trying to create an elevated higher crease.
