  • What?! He's not actually a wizard?!

  • Every time when I look it, I see new things. It's so brilliant. Ian is brilliant. The part of Andy is huge too.

  • its remarkable how much he sounds like Patrick Stewart sometimes

  • Okay..so let me get this straight. Ian McKellen is NOT really Gandolf? He's only..pretending?

  • I know I know I'm as shocked as you are

  • It's Gandalf. And he is Gandalf!!! lol :-P

  • The art of actor, it is

  • aww he's so sweet!

  • very very funny i love extras soooo much

  • LOL!

  • so adorable

  • There will be no scripts on the night! You learn the words.

  • Very funny clip.

  • absolutely brilliant!

  • This is my favorite scene in Extras ever. I love his graph of his method.

"Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Action Wizard, you shall not pass! Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian..."

  • sir ian..such a good actor! great scene!

  • George....of course. lol :)

  • They are acting...acting..which should be acted in future.

  • AMAZING.

  • How do I act so well? I pretend to be the person I am portraying in the film or play...

    LOL hilarious

  • i am crying, i am laughing so hard! omg!

  • I am crying. Outloud. This is brilliant!

  • how did i know where to stand? somebody told me.

    Brilliant

  • This part had me in tears

  • I dig the simplicity. I guess ya either have it or ya dont! I certainly dont, but so what?!!

  • xD Ian McKellen is incredible.

  • Not as funny as Patricks Stewarts but I think I heard Johnny Depp give acting tips like this. To be honest he was high on coke at the time.

  • i love this extras thing. mckellen is better than patrik stuart.

  • God, we need this show in the U.S.

  • I Don't understand...We DO LOL its on Showtime

  • isn't it great they get all these big stars, on the bafta episode I swear I saw hugh grant walk past.

  • The beautiful irony of Ian's speech here is perfect. just take out the word "Wizard" and insert "Gay," then you have a typical idiotic interview with any Hollywood hunk who's played a gay guy in the past ten years. The fact that he's playing a part should be obvious and yet... so many feel the need to explain that it's "just a role."

  • Except he is gay in real life.

  • Of course, but you are aware that he is "not a Wizard." Hence the irony, it's about all the straight actors who play a gay role then feel it necessary to proclaim that they're are in fact "not gay!" every time they have an interview about the part.

That is who this episode is spoofing In the end Andy foils the play because of the idea that he might be perceived as gay when he should have no more concern for such things as Sir Ian might as being perceived as "a real Wizard."

  • Brilliant.

  • haha i didn't even think about it that way but that issss really funny

  • LMFAO. Great.

  • fantastic :D

  • Ricky Gervais is a genius! Ian McKellen describing how to 'pretend'. Brilliant!

  • you know what i think that the patrick stwart on extra's was funnyer

  • "And how did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me"

  • "Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Wizard! YOU SHALL NOT PASS!! Cut! Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian..."

  • LOL!

    Sir Ian rocks.

  • very funny
