  • Sly is one mental mutherfucker who has produced some of the best music ever made by a human being. I love him warts n all

  • I saw Sly perform at OU in '71. He was an hour late, so doped he couldn't walk, and did a sloppy 45min show b4 booed off stage. The rest of the band was great though. Sly's been on a bender for 40 years, don't get you hopes up.

  • Sounds fine to me.

  • i think sly stone just is gona keep on doin his funky thang. not showin up for concerts and bein weird is a part of his funk, if u didnt know that about him u missed a part of his whole persona

  • Damn shame. Wish he'd sort himself out. On top form he's pretty much untouchable.

  • Who let him out of the mental institution?

  • can you imagine how many flawless performances this man has delivered? he's entitled to a couple stinkers here and there. youtube is a double edged sword in this respect. i mean, people who don't know who sly is are gonna see this and take it out of perspective. and, that's a shame. just type in his name and check out the man in his prime; then get back to me.

  • What's the last song called

  • the sad part is that this uh... "performance" is still better than lil wayne

  • yez proctor940,,,i agree the more i watch thiz clip in particular,,,i feel sLy and the new stuff,,,,,itz funky ,,,and he knowz hiz stufff,,,i c the RIOTstill goin' on,,,itz amaziing but sLy iz still sLy and ahead of his time,,,and he still knowz hiz old stufff tooo that is evident in the dance2themusic clip,,,he knew where everyone waz supposed 2 b,,even the hotf fun clip,,,watch them closer and u will c !!!!! all respect 2 u proctor940 and all positivity 4 sLy in 2010...

  • @papaguyocious Just read this post. Thanks for agreeing. Now, the verdict is still out on Charlie Sheen but I suspect he is up to something similar. We will see if he wins when he successfully sues the network for cancellation.

  • I think this show was magnificent. It was filled with one man trusting in his mistakes and his bright spots. This performance was something from all of us to learn from. Just like the Riot album, it was orchestrated confusion and Sly only knew the answer to the riddle.

  • I was at this show & watched out of morbid fascination. I think it was the biggest train-wreck of a show I've paid money for. I felt really bad for the rest of the band trying so hard to hold the show together. His new music sounds cool, I just hope he pulls it together to perform it for real and not by singing pathetically over a recording. I'm not a gambling man but I put money on the fact that he's wasted here and not simply being eccentric. All the best Sly, love to hear your new album

  • sly & his baby moms cynthia lol iwonder how she feel about sly man and his situation. so sad. but fuck it ilove sly HE HASNT CHANGED PEOPLE! TAKE THE FACT THAT HE WILL FOREVER BE HIMSELF!

  • yezzz.. rite on "fademazter",,,,,sLy iz sLy and willlll alwayz b sLy !!! alll respect and positivity 4 sLy & greg and cynth and jerry and novena and everyone on that stage ........and one mOe'thang the litttle bitz of the new stufff waz crazzeee funky !!! and yet one mOe'thang,,i played drumz wit'sLy in 1983 and he waz juzt az crazzzeeee then,,,even more so,,,,,peace&luv 4 sLy the man dat'changed music 4ever,,,u cant deny ittttt !!!!! respect & positive sLy vibezzzz in 2010.....

  • Sly is not from this planet, he has never been comfortable in the box! If everyone would relax around him and be more free flowing, it would be alright. People

  • That was me in the Cowboy hat. Sly is a genius and his career warrants him to do what ever he feels like at this point in his life. As the band leader I made sure we were ready for anything. Sly is a very open book. Not many artist are like that. I've worked with a lot of em.

  • @fadermaster well I commend you all for your efforts. I thought you all tried to save the performance and kept trying to ramp up the crowd's energy despite the issues. I thought the band did an admirable job.

  • People need to learn to let Sly present his new music, the old stuff gets boring to play over and over again. I have heard his new compositions, take time and open your mind and stop trying to but Sly in the box, he won't fit in the box! And remember creative people are different, think different, and live different, that is why they are not like the rest of us. Artists are not "normal' and that's all she said! The PsychGuru has spoken!

  • @ruby2uesday51 Wow. Sly Stone is talented and should be able to present his new music. The thing is..NOBODY was stopping him except himself. He simply got on that stage and made a fool of himself. Nobody was "putting him in a box" and for that matter what are you talking about creative people being different? As if creativity doesn't exist within everyone and you are there to point it out and defend the creativity of Sly Stone from being put in a box. Again, wow.

  • @fadermaster I agree he's a genius and a great talent, but that doesn't warrant him to exhibit neither at a live performance. There's eccentric, and then there's not giving a shit.

  • @fadermaster I agree. I'm fascinated by the man. I just hope he's not loaded here, given his history with drugs.

  • by "open book" you mean washed up acid head right?

  • @fadermaster what's up with the empty drum kit - no drummer this performance?

  • the worst band at cochella fest ,,,this guy is a joke,,,send him to retired home where hes belong

  • I'm surprised there was even anyone there for him. I went to see him at his scheduled time and when they said he was postponed people flipped!

  • btw, the band is tight and should've played without him lol. too bad

  • this is what years of doing an ounce of cocaine a day will do to you kids. drunk or on heroin?

  • i watched this live. seriously the most surreal thing I've ever seen. hilariously unnerving.

  • do you know who sly is? he does what he wants for all i care. god damn.

  • wow, really bad.

  • some bitz of new grooovez played on hiz "ipod" ,,,,, who elze would do thiz,,,2 me hiz new stuffff soundz funky,,,but i only saw thiz little clip,,,,,so far from the 2 clipz that r up,,,it iz what sLy iz,,,,,alwayz unpredictable,,,,,buttttt alllllwayz fUNkeee !!!!! ,,,sLy can only b sLy !!! allll sLy respect and positivity in 2010.....

  • The saddest part is that he didn't get booed off the stage.

  • @planetahead as much as his behavior deserved that, the crowd probably showed respect and still hoped that he will pull up a decent performance (which unfortunately, didn't happen). hey, the man's a legend, no matter what. its just sad to see that the pharmaceuticals are kicking in really bad and it showed here. take a break, sly.

  • doubt the contract was written up as "if youre shit, you dont get paid" to be honest.if that were the case people like coldplay would be bankrupt.

  • @DiscoStorm Yup. If this is what he's like today they probably tried to get him into rehab or tell him to get his act together.

  • I don't think it's particularly sad to watch an idiot make a fool of himself. I was entertained. I wonder if he still got paid?
