This method can discolor the models paint. Instead of taking that chance its better to put the hot water in a ziplock bag and wrap the bag around the leg. You have to re-heat the water a few times but it beats discolored legs. I also find that a hair dryer or toaster work quite well if you hold them at a distance and slowly move the warped leg into position.

1. Yes, if you leave it in heat for too long and/or put too much pressure on the leg.

2. Yes technically, since that's what I'm doing in this video.

3. Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it for most areas. Most times you'll end up warping the horse even more.

1. Yes, to a certain degree; that is, what I've demonstrated here. Any more complex movement than that e.g. bending the knee, and you'll end up with even more warped legs.

2. Just enjoy what you have.

3. Practice, research and study real equine.

Another thing you can do is after you moved the leg back, you dip the leg is cold water. It will allow the leg to harden quickly so you can't make any flaws when waiting it to cool down (no damage to the paint or plastic)

Btw This is a bad idea to use on glossy models because they the gloss will either wear out or chip. Its best to use a hair dryer for them.

Boiling water does damage to the matte finish! It Takes the Matte finish off, and makes the paint fade! I use a blow dryer! It works awsome and doesnt do damage to your model!!!!!!!!

Well, It's never taken the matte finish off any of my horses... I expect it may do if you leave it in there for too long, hence why I suggest 15 seconds ONLY. Using hot water targets the thinnest point, which in this case is the tendon and shank below the hock, which is the bit you want to reposition. Hot air from a blow drier has a large surface area, and tends to heat more of the leg, which can make the plastic bubble and the paintwork peel off.

I should really try this! I had like 3 show horses fall over becuase of my partly cloudy! Partly Cloudy has had several aceidents becuase of a warped leg. One she fell off of a, I think, 2 foot shelf, fell over on that helf then finally I put her on a 6 foot shelf, on the very top.
