The chant was from an aboriginal tribe native to Taiwan and not as many seem to think Native American.

In March 1998, Kuo Ying-nan and Kuo Hsiu-chu sued Cretu, Virgin Records, and others for unauthorised usage of their song without credit. The case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount of money and all further releases/royalties of the song were credited to the Kuos.

I love the track and Enigma, but it is a shame when they used the work of others without permission or credit

Actually, it's aboriginal Taiwanese chanting. ;-) Enigma actually recorded the chant at the singer's live performance without the creator's permission and a lawsuit rightfully followed. Still, amazing tune.
