  • Please tell me that I misheard you and that you didn't say "all you women folk out there - I'm sure you are good at pealing potatoes"

  • Excellent work, But videoes do not exist in Spanish with this quality, Please we want videoes in Spanish Gracias, an embrace from Venezuela

  • Good for you , kipuka11! Sorry Simon Ha!

I've used potato peelers more in the pottery then ever in the kitchen, don't like them for potatos really, rather use a good thin bladed knife, it's ok on carrots, better on chocolate!!!

But then good clay is like fine chocolate to some of us right!!!

  • Simon, I love the shape of those vases, most of all the tops or lips. Could you do a clip to show how you make the vases. I really struggle to form my tops like that.

    Sally

  • Everything you have shown has helped me so much. Thanks for all your time and knowlege.

  • Simon, in the second pot you show where you had scratched lines up and down the sides - how did you make the little circles sround the top? I like that design.

    Sally

  • The circles in this case i just impressed with a round piece of tube .easy to do , look around for objects to use for impressing ...in the kitchen or garage wherever ! SL

  • Thanks Simon, great idea. I will try that. I love the texture the "tile trowel" gave the pots. I am going to the hardware store to get one.

  • love your videos .... but a bit of a sexist comment about women peeling potaotes...ha!

  • HA ! well wasnt meant to be ! I peel them myself . lol keep practicing . SL

  • Hi Simon, you need to host your own show, you are the Bob Ross of the pottery world! You have helped me so much, I've gone from making sloppy lumps to actually selling stuff thanks to your informative clips and talent for teaching! Well done and thank you!

  • Something I am working on ! SL

  • Hi Simon,

Quick Question, how do you trim/turn a tall neck vessel? Mine break.

  • Yes i do.... but yes you have to be a bit of a wild man ! unless you hold in a chuck securely , which is the best & most sensible way to do it .Throw chucks to different measurements & bisq fire.Hold to wheelhead with lumps of clay when centered up. SL

  • your hat's on backwards lol unless of course you're over 40.

  • You look genuinely American in that cap!

  • Looks pretty chill. Fun way to add some character. Keep up the good work. ^.-

  • You're just a cutie in that baseball hat :)

    Great informative video!

  • what about a metal rib with teeth in them is that good for that scratched surface or something more ridge?

  • Yes absolutely , experiment ,see what you find is effective & comfortable , SL
