Elvis Perkins' father was the late, great Tony Perkins, who recorded the monster classic, "Moonlight Swim" in the late 1950s. And while genetics are not necessarily a guarantee of multi-generation potential, Elvis Perkins has made quite a few formidable recordings in his own right. Doomsday demonstrates a flair for engaging chord progressions and an irresistible hook. And his Gospel choir analogy isn't far off the mark at all. An instant classic!
wow! what a video. haven't heard elvis perkins before, saw bondy support the felice brothers in london. seeing him come in on this is pretty cool, and the gospel choir mixed with his guitar. the venue looks interesting too, right up against the street, im surprised people arent peering in (window shopping!)
