Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac - 3D Graphics Demo

Hey, i have a question. My macbook has a x3100 graphics card and 4GB ram, and yet half life two runs really slowly on lowest possible graphics. Im using the latest version of Parralels 4.0 for mac,with windows vista home basic, and i've allocated enough of my RAM and VRAM to the virtual machine. This problem is really pissing me off :/

Or you could just get a PC and not have to get this program? I don't know of any (good) software that is Mac exclusive, so what's the point? (Unless you are in an office, PC's are better for customization and upgrading)

No, you should not get a PC because of all the crashes. i got my mac a month ago and it has never crashed.

I have a question I have a brand new macbook that is decked out with the best upgrades it could get. I pretty much just wanted the white cover :S. Anyway is it possible for me to play wow in parallel I am getting an error message.

"Your 3D accelerator car is not supported by World of Warcraft. Please install a 3D accelerator card with dual-TMU support.

My game play is fine using just boot camp but parallel is different. message me.

That's funny, with bootcamp, I can do everything a PC does, but better, faster, smoother, and easier.

And that includes gaming

I've run Oblivion, City of Heroes, The Witcher, and numerous other games at full settings.

And as for all the other thing's a computer is good for?

so how do you get the drivers for whatever videocard you use to install on parallel desktop.

Im using a macbook pro. and when I download and try to install my videocard's driver thru parallel. it tells me my hardware isnt supported. any ideas?

Wow, that must be a pretty powerfull PC on the video since it can run a Virtual machine with enough ram and video memory to run Quake 4 at full speed!!

no. parallels is the best. It has concurrence mode which basically integrates all windows into one desktop. check it out at their website.

i actually ran oblivion on my macbook pro (bootcamp), and it ran fine. much better than on the "pc"-notebook a friend bought around the same time.

macs are fine for gaming, and even finer for everything else.

Fact, all the best software that "designers" user on a mac is available on a PC and with todays technology, is JUST AS FAST if not faster.

Actually circa 1995 it did come to mean that. That's why you see I'm a mac, I'm a PC ads everywhere and gamers are just called gamers. Not mac gamers, or PC gamers.

Why would you use a mac to run windows? The reason mac is good is its software...you can build a custom PC so much cheaper and more powerful than a mac, but then you don't get alot of the programs macs come with. A imac with an x1600 (atleast they use Ati) and 2.14Ghz dual core isn't exactly cutting edge.

I used my macbook pro to play wow, had the settings to max and had no lag while playing it native on OS X. @chasedailey...I don't think you know what you are talking about.

You're right that intensive gaming on a mac is still horrible, but the term "PC" actually means "personal computer". It doesn't mean "windows based operating system".

So, you can be a "PC gamer" like you say, and still own an Apple computer.

no. there is still waaaay to many people with PC's for it to go away within the next 100 years. With that, macs will also increase in popularity, but I dont think macs will take over for quite some time. Microsoft has dug in too well for it to be beaten that quickly.

I'd like to tone my comment down some notches. After a day of struggling with it, I'm seriously disappointed in how unplayable my counter-strike source it. You can see the lag in the WoW portion at the end of the vid.
