  • my would not uninstall :(, what should i do

  • @dirtydiana9618 Have you downloaded and run the norton uninstall tool?

  • @realworldgeek yh i have, and nothing happened :(, my one is norton security scan

  • @dirtydiana9618 I would suggest either downloading and installing the norton security scan again, and then uninstalling it from there, or download the revo uninstaller and use it to remove the security scan. Have a great day.

  • I click change/remove and it does nothing.. Can someone help me?

  • @lkiseljak Have you downloaded and run the norton uninstall tool?

  • @realworldgeek probably not, i'll try it,thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I'm stuck at the step that says 'Processing Product by MSI Codes' Do you have an idea whats goin on?

  • @utkarshakash321 Are you running the uninstall tool I mention in the video?

  • @realworldgeek Never mind. i followed the steps in the video and It worked. Though i was able to uninstall Norton successfully but when i reinstall it, it again shows up 0 days remaining. Is there a way i can reset it back to 15 days?

  • @utkarshakash321 Not that I know of. What version of Norton are you running?

  • @realworldgeek I have Norton Internet Security 2011 installed on my PC. btw I downloaded Norton 360 v5 and its working fine now. So i need not worry.

  • @realworldgeek i deleted it but i still have pop-ups

  • @Heartless91305 From Norton or from websites or what?

  • @realworldgeek from Norton when i start my computer i have a pop up then when i try to go on google chrome i get a pop up on the bottom right corner saying i have a malicious trojan its like a yellow sheild with white lines on it

  • @Heartless91305 This is where I would suggest installing some antispyware program, like malwarebytes, and spybot search and destroy. Update and run these programs, removing anything they find. It sounds like you have a virus infection on top of your problems getting rid of norton.

  • @beebe456 You typically have to restart your computer after you uninstall any program, since files will remain resident in memory, and how windows itself operates.

  • lmao how this got 20 likes,i dont know, the quality is worse than someone about to lose vision

  • @DaBobdaGuy The people who like this, tend to like it because they DON'T like Norton... Thanks for the encouraging words there bud, especially after I took a look at your channel...

  • i cant do anything as long as i have norton, and it can't be removed!

  • @vyrewatch12321 Have you tried the norton removal tool, mentioned in the video?

  • @realworldgeek it wont let me use the tool in the video

  • @captinp3anuts What version of windows are you using? If you are using windows vista or windows 7, right click on the norton removal tool first, and click run as administrator, and then yes on the prompt that comes up.

  • Does Norton get rid of iTunes or Pinnacle studio???

  • @TheXxgeorgexx I don't exactly know what you mean by foreign, but it is written by Norton.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! No loger will my pc be plaged by the shittyness of norton!

  • if u can email or sumthing my norton 360 will not uninstall and it just stayes there

  • @TheNuketrooper Try running the removal tool, go to google and search for download norton removal tool. Let me know.

  • i uninstall norton internet sercurity 2010 and when i try to install the norton 360 4.0 but i can nomore. pls help me!

  • @19barce sounds like portions of 2010 are still installed, try going to google and typing in download norton removal tool, choose your version (any should work though) and download the tool. Once it has run, it will remove any available portions of the antivirus that remain, then reboot and try reinstalling 360.

  • can i turn off norton for a while and then turn it back on if so can u tell me plz

  • @jennifer683 if you turn off norton and you download something or go any website be careful of attempt attacks and infecteds files

  • can i turn off norton for a while and then turn it back on??

if so can u plzz tell me how to!! COZ IT'S REALLY ANNOYING!!

  • @jennifer683 spamming pop up?try to enable.....

  • Yes that i personally created :/

  • @rmasont I have never seen their program delete files that were created by the user, the software is designed to only remove program files and registry entries related to norton. You might try running a system restore to take you back to a day or two before you removed norton, you never know what might pop up.

  • when I click the download link for norton removal tool, it shows website unavailable. :/

  • Last time i uninstalled norton it deleted files :S what do i do to prevent that please help

  • @rmasont I am not sure I understand the question. You uninstalled Norton and lost files that you personally had created or?

  • yea i tryed to uninstall the program but it didn't do anything please help

  • @heat465 try going to google and typing in download norton removal tool, the top two or three sites should be Norton. Choose the version you have, as best you can and run the tool, it will manually uninstall Norton.

  • Norton - Removal - tool is safe.

    xD

  • @Pwnercity1 Yes, it is, it's probably the safest thing Norton makes.

  • @realworldgeek lol i just think it's funny how they let this one slide.. most of them it says: Norton-Removal-Tool as been checked as a virus/ Spy ware

  • norton is not in my controll panel but i have it installed help me

  • norton sucks!

  • @nissengummihone yes it does.. last time im getting it.

  • @DJDOMINATE00 But norman is even worse:)

  • @nissengummihone thats why im going with AVG..

  • @DJDOMINATE00 dont use avg. rather use trend micro internet security cuz that is one of the best programs there i use it myself

  • umm i kinda followd your tutorial while you were doing it and i dont know what kind of norton i had should i dowload all the unistallation tools or what ??? help pleas ohh and great vid :)

  • @naji7777 typically all the uninstallers are the same, if you had 2008, or 2009, just click that link. I used the 2006 link just today, which still led to the same uninstaller that removed the 2009 version I was getting rid of. I think the different links are just their way of tracking which of their products are least popular.

  • thank u :) It helped alot

  • You are welcome.

  • Thanks alot man.

    :):):):):)

  • @peckyjoe21 You are most welcome. I am always glad to hear that I helped someone.

  • When I go to add/remove and click remove on norton antvirus it says "Error 1719. The windows installer could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safemode"

  • Try going to google and downloading dial a fix. Once you have the program downloaded, open the zip file and open dial a fix. Once it is open, put a check in fix windows installer, and left click on GO. Once the process has run, try the uninstall again. If that fails (and it might), you should at least have gotten farther than before. If it fails, go to google and type in download norton removal tool, then look for one from 2010, I haven't had it fail me yet.

  • i bought a new laptop and there's a norton anti virus advertisement that i cant figure out how to remove. got any suggestions?

  • I give a pretty good walk through on how to uninstall the antivirus in the video, I assume you mean to say that the video does not help you remove Norton's trial version on the laptop? If not, go to google and type in download norton removal tool, then look for one from 2010, I haven't had it fail me yet.

  • It is crap, makes my computer slower then the virus itself...

  • it worked just fine! thank you so much. damn symantec and their crap.

  • Hey there, thanks for the info in the video. But I have a problem. I have the 08 antivirus installed on my computer, protected by a password that my former IT dept. chose. Now that I don't work there I want to get rid of it. Does NRT work in that case? Is there something like a command line or something that could uninstall it without the password? I use avast on all my computers (dunno if it's the best but it's decent) with spybot and adaware. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • This is what I have used to clear the password, but remember that working in the registry, you have to do precisely what is listed below:

Left click Start, then Run and type in regedit

Click your way down through the registry until you are at the following

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\INTEL\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\Administrator Only\Security\

  • The areas between each \ is a click you will have to make.

Double left click on UseVPUninstallPassword then change the 1 to 0

Close out regedit and retry to uninstall Norton once again.

  • @realworldgeek when i click mine it doesnt give me the option to delete it

  • Try running the removal tool, go to google and search for download norton removal tool. Let me know.

  • Thank you for this video! Been looking for something to help me remove Norton 360 3.0 However, I'm having difficulty getting the Norton Removal Tool to actually run. I download it onto my desktop and the moment i double-click the icon it shows a loading box for a split second then vanishes. It acts as if it is still loading for a little bit, but nothing appears on screen. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

  • @NinjaDoctor9 Hmm, trying saying that it is Norton 2009 instead of 360, and try that tool, I have seen the one specifically for 360 do just that. The download will be named Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

  • @realworldgeek It worked! Thank you very much! Been trying to get Norton off my computer after class for nearly 4 days now haha. And just in time for the weekend!

  • Glad to hear it. What av are you moving to instead?

  • Decided to go with AVG, a lot of my friends who are avid gamers like myself say this is the best one to use. What do you think? Is AVG pretty good?

  • Decent, make sure to update and run malwarebytes about once a month, maybe spybot search and destroy. No antivirus is perfect, but balancing AVG with those two will certainly help out.

  • Sounds like a good plan! Thanks again for all the help and advice, I really appreciate it!

  • @realworldgeek yes i did it and it worked ty

  • Glad to hear it!

  • Would you recemend me re-newing norton 2009 or just getting a free one.

  • realworldgeek . i need ur help ... my bro put in a password to the norton ... any possible way to deletel it ??

  • I assume that you don't know what the password is? What version of Norton, and is it Internet Security, or just the antivirus? I believe there is a simple enough solution with enough info.

  • Thank you

  • You are welcome!

  • Almost forgot how to do this. Thanks for remembering me!

  • You are welcome!

  • Hey when I go to uninstall it i click the remove button or what ever and then I get the Vist permission thing and then nothing comes up. I really need to get this bitch off here lol. Nortan sucks balls!!!! Thanks m8t.

  • @scoobyfan2009 Try running the second part of the uninstall, using the norton removal tool. You might also try creating a new profile in the Control Panel under Users, then log off and log back in. If something happens to your profile, a newly created profile can sometimes work around the problem, and allow you to finish the uninstall of norton successfully. Once Norton has been removed, you can delete the second account. Not sure if any of this helps, but it is worth a try.

  • Hey thanks for the time to reply I'll give that a go and then Ill let you know. By the way I'm gonna give you 5 stars just for replying and at least attempting to help someone out. Thanks m8t Happy New Years.

  • Has this worked for you?

  • i can nott unstill it

  • @FaridMajid Can you provide me with more details, such as an error message? Also, are you logged on as administrator? Also, what version of Windows are you using, etc?

  • ty!!!

  • @yand14 You are most welcome! What antivirus did you replace it with, by the way?
