  • Windows are being delivered Tuesday.... forcast is 7 days of thunderstorms

  • I went with the Anderson 400 series full frame window. I needed to replace the 11 lower windows in the house and wanted to match the 8 upstairs Anderson windows that I had replaced many years ago. The windows will arrive in early June. I hope the job turns out as well as yours did. Thanks again for the visual help.

  • You are correct - the windows are Marvins. We ordered them factory primed w/ thick sills & extended horns that we trimmed on site to match the width of the trim (casings). We also ordered them w/o casings so that the trim would match the rest of the house -- especially important if not replacing the siding. We do have Kolbes on the house, but wouldn't recommend because their 2 piece sills are prone to rot. Episode 1 explains why whole units are better over inserts, especially on older homes.

  • Hi, I enjoyed your series, It was well done. Did your window come with the sill hornes or did you add them. If they came with it, what brand of window did you use. It looked like a Marvin if I read the sticker on the window correctly. Was it a primed wood window you put back in. I am debating on inserts or full frame in my old farm house.

  • Any reason for going with a fin-less window vs one with fins. I only ask because you mentioned that you were going to replace the siding anyway.
