Yeah! They found that 550 tons in Baghdad right next to where they store our voting machines! You must be brain dead Alex the raccoon. Enjoy your personal illusion.
All you pop-head media sucking liberals sound the same. The same canned, cynical, vapid snot-nosed bullshit. Always starting with a personal attack on your critic. Go back to your cubicle and little internet chat world.
Only the uneducated, as yourself, would believe such a story. Why would our Military Government try to keep such information a secret? Had it been true, it would have validated to them at least, the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi people they have killed and continue to kill daily. Instead of the WMD's they never found. FYI My critics are more thoughtful and intelligent. Now go do what they told ya and stay out of my garbage can-you dirty little raccoon!
Yah you do. Conservatives and their dangerous idea. Like the WAR! Yah the Republicans know so much about terrorism. They had 8 years to fight it. But they built a safe haven for them...called Iraq now.
well it suits some people to have oil at 150 dollars a barrel , it doesn't suit you or me but it suits some people , they don't care how many people have to die to maintain their power and control , not to mention what oil is doing to the biosphere, Bangladesh is going to vanish this century , that's 120 million people who will have to up sticks and find someplace else to live , i hate to say it ,
Then people think that the oil companies are price gouging, but what they don't get is that when the Federal Reserve prints more money so that Americans can afford the gas, the prices will go up. It is the printing of money that is destroying the value of the dollar. Over the last ten years the dollar in terms to oil went up 350%. If the Federal Reserve kept the integrity of the value of the dollar as it would be with gold then oil would be $33 a barrel today.
What gives the americans the right to carve up a country ? saddam hussein didn't even do that !!! carving up iraq won't work ,because people from different religions and tribes live on the same street! you guys started a civil war just so you could control them , let them kill each other so they don't have time to kill you ! while you are free to plunder the country's vast oil resources !
well because we're sick of wasting our money and lives occupying their country and they can't seem to get their act together and control their shit on their own.. are you seriously asking about what would give us any right? lol And thats just an idea, its not like they wouldn't weigh in on it. And it wouldn't really be carving up a country, it would still all be one country.
while you are free to plunder the country's vast oil resources ???? Oil was $27 when we went over there, and now there's less than half the production now. We should never had went in to begin with. America needs to stop interfering with other countries internal affairs. It is all about blow back. Then people complain about gas prices and don't realize its the inflation, war in Iraq, the Reigme change in Iran we are pushing, the sudden demand in China and India for oil
I think Bill Maher is hilarious, however, this interview w/ Biden shows just how clueless Maher is when it comes to, well, anything political. 3 states in Iraq? Biden was way off on that and Maher beats the drum because Biden is one of the most liberal Senators in the Senate. Biden is a good guy and I think he's the best that the Dems had, but the Obama zombies have no clue who Obama is. Hillary wins the election by double digits. Hell, any other Dem wins the election. This guy? Not happening.
"but the Obama zombies have no clue who Obama is."
That's only for those who haven't been paying attention. That's an old argument that doesn't hold up. What you mean is you can't relate to a middle-aged BLACK male. Don't be so biased.
It is a weird and exclusively American designation of a centrist like Obama to call him a "left-liberal".
And those who think that the Dems need to cater to the centrists and Republican break-aways were asleep during the disastrous Dem-campaigns of 2000 and 2004. It's time for some ACTUAL CHANGE! Fuck the system!
rass: The definitions of Right, Centrist, Leftist are completely different in the US than in most of Europe.
In the US, the entire political spectrum is shifted to the Right. So, an American Centrist would be well Right-of-Center in Europe.
BTW, you're entitled to your opinion, but american voters will be the ones to decide when it's time for change and how much change. Don't forget...the US is to the Right politically for a reason. Our cutlure/history is completely different from yours.
It's true that the US political spectrum has shifted ridiculously to the right but you neglect to consider that the US population is WELL to the left of the government on most issues. There is a humongous gap between public opinion and public policy. This is the reason why about half of eligible voters in the US stay home on election-day. They have a choice between two sections of one corporate party (Dems and Reps), neither of which really works for them but rather their corporate masters.
rass: I disagree completely. The US political spectrum has always been to the Right. If FDR or HST were alive today they would be moderate Republicans.
While I agree the Bush administration is very unpopular, the electorate remains split about 50/50 between Dems/Reps. Look at the Congress. Look at the Obama/McCain polls.
And the US population has always been strangly apathetic about voting. But it has always been this way; it's not linked to recent events or "corporate" america.
And don't give me that shit about it being none of my business because I'm not American. Sure, you guys vote, you decide, but the whole world often ends up paying for the US's fuck-ups.
rass: I said in my original post you're entitled to your opinion. And re america's "fuck-ups", name an empire that hasn't made mistakes. Your position is typical crypto-Leftist bullshit. You exaggerate all the failures and ignore all the successes. If america wasn't here, what would replace it?
- Soviet/Chinese style communism?
- European colonialism?
- German/Russian militarism?
- The current Chinese model of rampant capitalism combined with a police state dictatorship?
First off, my position is not "crypto"-anything. Only hysterical Americans are afraid of the word leftist. Second: opinion polls about elections are meaningless. They're not about issues. Turnout in elections and opinion polls about issues suggest that the population is WAY to the left of the government.
Third: I know that the US empire has always been this way. Does that make it right? Fourth: the alternative to corporatocracy is DEMOCRACY! Meaningless cold-war rhetoric only clouds the issue.
Fifth: none of the systems you mentioned make sense.
The US is a free country. Not because some Republican or Democrat decided so but because the people organized and fought to make it so. And just like the people won the labour-rights, free speech and gender-equality they can strip the corporations of their power to control the elected government. Your political position seems to be "if you can't be with the one you love then love the one you're with" and it's a pathetic sycophantic position.
you know john, i don't think the problem with us, "leftists," is so much that we exxagerate the failures, but instead that you exxagerate the successes. What do the right continually tout about Iraq, just as an example, that violence has fallen to pre-surge levels. That may be true, but that's hardly a peaceful nation. You say that 17 million people have gained homes in the Bush administration, but that was because they gave homes to people who couldn't afford them, causing the housing crisis.
missin: yes, the Reps have hyped anything remotely positive and there's a danger there. We did that in Vietnam too; and it delayed our departure...we should have been out of there 2-3 yrs earlier.
I was opposed to Iraq from the start, but we can't turn back the clock. There's so much at stake there. Not just for us. 1.1 billion muslims in the world and very few of them free. Women abused, gays executed, etc.
At least Iraq offers the possibility of something better, albeit a remote one.
i like biden, he's got personality, experience (foreign and domestic) and he's not a pompous a-hole like McCain, but sadly i think they have some explaining to do regarding his comments about Obama's experience. This was a genius move by Obama. Biden is a radical changeseeker in American foreign policy and a good veep choice all around.
Though I seriously don't see Biden as President ever. By the time Obama is done in 2017, let's face it Biden will be McCain's age-more or less, as he'll be 71-and that's a bit old for a first term presidency.
At this point, Democrats are golden for an '08win. We should send thank you cards to Bush and McCain for handing this to us. Americans want CHANGE!
tara: Biden is a "radical" nothing. The guy has been in the Senate for 40 years. He's part of the system and the farthest thing from a radical.
And what about Obama's "change" message? He picks the ultimate Washington insider for VP...how does that square with "change"? Obama played it safe and picked an experienced adult to offset Obama's youth and lack of experience. Nothing more.
Biden is anything but a Washington insider. Would you like to know how much money Biden has? minus 300,000. Yes, Joe Biden is 300,000 dollars in debt. He takes the train from Washington where he works to Wilmington, Delaware where he lives. He has experience yes, that is to be sure. However, the corruption of Washington has not nor ever will effect him in any substantiave way. Joe Biden is one of the only US senators that is in the Business for America, not for himself.
missin: I actually like Biden, even though his voting record is so liberal. I like to listen to him; he's entertaining, pragmatic, and knowledgeable.
But you can't say that somebody who has been in the Senate for 40 yrs, and votes lockstep with his political party, is NOT a washington insider. He is.
