  • cheesy as man cheesy as

  • 1 kick? Big fucking deal. :/

  • If you come to California, visit the delta town of Isleton. That's where Pat Morita grew up. You will love the scenery along the Sacramento River. The town was once submerged when the levee broke.

  • No remake ever tops a classic!

  • 0:26 the best part of it

  • Karate kid 1 & 3 were the best

  • The original was great. But that film that Will Smith produced and gave his son the leading role should not be called a remake. The film has nothing to do with karate, it was about kung fu. In China it was released as The Kung Fu Kid.

Yes the basic story about a boy without a father moving to a new school, getting picked on, and befriending an older martial arts master is the same, but where was the karate aspect? It would have made more sense if the film was set in Okinawan or mainland Japan.

  • @barrettokarate There isn`t any karate in this film either, it is kung fu too. Where have you seen Karate imitating animals? l2martialarts

  • @Woundheir Do some research, many traditional Okinawan karate styles were influenced by Chinese kung fu and combined with their indigenous arts. Also, many Okinawan karate styles, like Uechi-ryu in particular use techniques such as the "crane beak" strike or "crane stance".

The Mr. Miyagi character was an Okinawan karate master, not a Japanese karate one. Also the art Miyagi taught was most likely based on Goju-ryu, which is an Okinawan style with a strong Chinese influence.

  • I liked the original and the remake.

  • still goosebumps seeing this scene, youth sentiment!

  • greatest scene ever and the soundtrack is just outstanding_!!!!!

  • GREAT!!!!!

  • GIVE HIM A BODY BAG!! YEAAH

    XD

  • pqp, até hj me emociono!!!

thumbs up for everyone what grow up watching Karate Kid!!!!

  • Johnny! Johnny! Johnny! The true Karate Kid :)

  • Sweep the leg, Johnny!

  • The 2010 remake with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan was a peace of crap. The original Karate kid with Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita from 1984 was better. No could ever remake this classic original 1984 Karate kid film. Ralph and Pat kicked ass in this movie, RIP Pat Morita. Rock on Ralph!

  • This is one of my favorite movies of the 80's. Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Randee Heller were just brilliant. Oh and I loved Elisabeth Shue, especially her character. Unfortunately, nowadays stupid girls prefer brainless muscular ill-bred playboys with rich cars & zero personality. Sad, very sad. The Karate Kid was wonderful and so realistic film! I miss the 80's

  • Elizabeth Shue is so freaking hot- not sure if Ralph Maccio lives on Long Island, but my aunt is a lawyer in Hampton Bays and met him

  • They just don't make good movie endings anymore.

  • 0:14 "Yes young one, you may use the almighty power of the crane kick"

  • geowned

  • what the hell does that kind-of-kung-fu stance have to do with karate? ._.

  • the remake sucks....

  • Lyoto Machida did it better!!

  • a vida imita a arte...WAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR MACHIDAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

  • fuk damn i love this movie. screw the new version.

  • LYOTO WARRRRRRR

  • WAR LYOTO MACHIDA

  • Lyoto Machida

  • ABSOULTY LEGENDERY

  • lol, this seemed so much more intense when I watched it the first time. The new Karate Kid with WIll Smith's son does this scene MUCH better.

  • @Skrymik Why would kids from Beverly Hills and Rossita go to the same high school?

  • rest in peace sensei Pat.........

  • press 0 over and over for epic YEAH!!! HEEHEHHAHEHEA!!!

  • This is the greatest scene ever committed to film from my all time favourite movie ever!

  • @dshrm None of your business cock breath.

  • @dshrm ass

  • this shit is a classic

  • I watch this movie since I was born. and yet I still shudder when I see this scene .. its amazing...

  • FINISH HIM

  • fantastic

  • "LA GRULLA"

  • Epic. Fights from the new one although alright, annoy me because the camera jumps everywhere. Ruining the new fights somewhat.

  • remeber kids crane kick dose not work in real life!

  • @radut2009 lol Its fancy and cool but in real life its crap.

  • @GardDawgy Depends on a billion factors: environment, state of each fighter, etc.

  • @radut2009 yes it does!

  • @radut2009 Say that to Lyoto Machida... hahahaha

  • @radut2009 It is actually a stepping jump front kick, minus having your arms up like a crane. You want your hands up, elbows in. And yes kids, it is an incredibly effective kick if you excecute it properly.

  • Classic movie scene no doubt!!

Love The Karate Kid enjoyed the new one also and im glad they didnt use The Crane at the end of it :)

  • The original was a great story and the new film just expanded on it. I thought both movies were great

  • okay, i'm gonna put this up straight off: NOTHING WILL EVER TOP THE ORIGINAL KARATE KID.

  • @UROCKMYSOX249 yeah i know right? The 2010 remake sucked.

  • @UROCKMYSOX249

No sequel ever tops an original.

  • @UROCKMYSOX249 I agree my top number 1 moment with Daniel is when he punched the crap out Chosen

  • The final kick of the remake blows this one away.

  • ya but you cant say one is better then the other there both amazing

  • @ohsnap31 yeah the fighting in the new one is a lot better but this one had better acting and MIYAGI. Jaden smith was good, but this one has a certain charm

  • @hibityhabity

Pat Morita as Miyagi was arguably just as good if not better than Jackie Chan but that is where the argument ends. The story was good but the original acting was horrible. If was over-acting by all the characters other than Miyagi. Every single kid in the original could not act. I love the 80's but that is the truth. The new one has much better acting from all the kids, the story line is improved and fight scenes way better. Doing it in China was smart - worldwide audience.

  • @ohsnap31 Miyagi had a certain elegance. Remember how he had that big garden and the clean well done japanese home while Mr. Han was more of a broken down character. He was more gruff and more tortured than Miyagi and thats why I like Pat Morita's performance better.

  • @ohsnap31 .......the original wasn't meant to be a high budget REMAKE. it was simply meant to be a movie w/ a great story. it's always easier to COPY something, improve upon the original, and learn from the original, rather than WRITE AN ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY FOR YOUR KID TO STAR IN........

  • @bohicass

The remake was not high budget - in fact they scored a profit the first weekend of sales. The original story was great and you are correct, it is much easier to improve on the original than make an original. But, my point is that the acting in the original with the exception of Pat, was actually weak compared to the acting today. It did not bother me that Will cast his son because the kid was awesome - if the kid could not act, fight, and was in bad shape, then I would complain.

  • I remember this as a kid i was so happy!

  • IN THE FACE!!!!!!!!!!

  • such a GREAT scene

  • lol the kids laugh at the start

  • lolol 0:19

  • That clip is from the intro in Part 2. In the original, the celebration afterwards is big and goes on for a while. You just posted the flashback version, which is much less exciting and cathartic.

  • assraped

  • What I never got is why the little cunt never used his special crane kick move at the beginning? Instead of crying around mid fight, stopping off in the changing room for a bit of Reiki and a whinge, and more likely than not making poor old Mr Miyagi suck someone off to get him back in the competition. The 80s were just plain weird.

  • A classic alright!

  • he is way too cute haha

  • AMAZING!!

  • Nothing can compares to the 80's movies :P!

  • i love the sound when he hits johnnys head

  • Such an epic scene.

  • that kid at the begining laughing looks like mark hamill, lol.

  • epic kick to the face

  • @soccerdies

maybe Its the background music.... i put it on mute and it didnt sound so EPIC :)

  • @soccerdies More like an epic heading to his foot! He actually extended his face to be kicked...Lol

  • @gomenaros No he didn't. He moves in and then he moves back. Then he gets kicked in the head.

  • this is the hero of my childhood

  • Plus, I own Mike Barnes and Jonny in Karate

  • Well in the type they are doing

  • Not to ruin the legend, but foot to head contact doesn't score in karate

  • Who cares!

Do you really think this movie is about winning the All Valley Tournament?

  • @iconocide It's all about the pedophile undertones.

  • @cjmooney9 i don't know what crack you're on but when i fought in tournaments, anything from groin up was fair game. i won 3 tournaments with kicks to the head. its worth two points.

  • @cjmooney9 obviously it does !! o.O

  • @cjmooney9 Obviously it does.. then what´s the Mawachi for ?

  • Put him in a bodybag, Johnny!!!

  • Kobra Kai sucks, bad guys sucks XD

  • @Justicelight Yeah Miyagi dojo is the shit! :)

  • he just fuckin kicked that dude in the face

  • id like to see the crane kick done in the UFC!

  • thats like saying you'd want to see me do the handstand on my skateboard, ollie to backflip, to tripple kickflip to nosegrind, to quadruple varial flip to dark slide on Tony Hawk in real life..

  • MISTA MIYAGI SO PROUD

  • :21 look @ him crawl! xDD

  • ololololololololol

  • Why the hell can't they make movies like this......simple, yet amazingly executed. Movie magic. I got shivers down my spine when i first watched this way back in my childhood, and it still manages to grab me, even now over 20 years later....Masterful.

  • @mechahalcon Have you seen the New Karate kid movie, Miyagi would turn in his grave,

  • If done right. No can defense.

  • unless you have a grenade launcher, like Sagura from FMP Fumoffu

  • @GamertownUSA that means he messed it up in part 2

  • Ho knows the name of this music?
