  • Who else saw Matt Stone and Trey Parker at the end? XD :3

  • I've never noticed how much Colbert sounds like Ryan Seacrest sometimes. I always think it's Seacrest opening this video when I first hear it

  • you guys have permit from LDS church or doing it illegally ?

  • this is not a real mormon song .

  • @varelaarcadio4 Yeah, this was made by the creators of South Park Cartoon.

  • Anybody else notice how he licks his lips like every ten seconds after the first minute,

  • @goobteam22 Never had dry lips?...

  • @goobteam22 gotta wet that whistle with those belting notes

  • I HAVE to see this play!

  • Just love the part at the end where he's swaying. That guys face is just like -___- lol

  • Another mormon here finding it absolutely fascinating how humurous reality is.

  • AND BY GOSH!!!!! A MORMON....JUST....BELIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVES!!!

  • Mormon here, this is absolutely brilliant, and quite true as well. :D

  • BRILLIANT ON MULTIPLE LEVELS...

  • Watch it again, but this time count how many times he licks his lips.

  • Somewhat in-accurate as all videos that try to Paradise the Mormon religion are. Personally though, i don't believe. I know.

  • @SCNewbCaster People accuse this show of being inaccurate but then never mention how.

  • @katrinalisa2002 Because they're little things, but those little things when portrayed is a light sense make them seem ridiculous, when they're really not. I don't go around making "educational" videos about religions other then my own. I wouldn't got to a Jew, even an ex-Jew to learn about Jews. I would go to a dedicated Jew, and I would have respect for what he shared with me.

  • @katrinalisa2002 If someone wants to learn about the LDS religion, ask an official representative to get an accurate answer.

  • mormons are weird on a higher LSD level

  • 112 people do not believe

  • BTW: This is not the title, but oh well....

  • Wtf. The Sound of Music? Oh, you South Park people :P

  • god his teeth are white...

  • My sister is a Mormon...she was raised catholic, baptized her daughters catholic, but is still a mormon....she tried to tell me how the Mormon works....to this day i still dont get it

  • Anyone else come from The Book of Pony with Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo?

  • Shpedoinkel.

  • I love the way he smiles while he is singing.

  • Um....... just saying but the title is "I BELIVE"

  • @pianomaster82 BELIEVE? lol

  • the like/dislike bar look likes a lightsaber

  • @FlyingNinjaDog you piece of shit!

  • @TheInconvenientTooth You mad bro?

  • @FlyingNinjaDog Well moderately, but im mostly amazed that you spend your time spouting this stuff on the internet in the hopes someone will like you! - Nice story bro?

  • @TheInconvenientTooth Coming from the dude who had nothing better to do with his miserable time than me a piece of shit because i mentioned the Like/ Dislike bar looking like a lightsaber. Seriously get a life bro

  • @FlyingNinjaDog nothing better to do? hmmm the irony considering your the one spouting unoriginal boring observations about the like and dislike bar! you witty young girl! you made a funny! look lets just except the fact your dull!

  • @TheInconvenientTooth Well good sir you have me! I'm so glad you opened my eyes to truth that i am nothing more than a dull person.

  • @TheInconvenientTooth "...lets just except the fact your dull!" That's "accept", not "except." And "you're", not "your." Talk about dull!

  • @leNolaBoy Okay you caught me grammar police! but you see what you've done here by pointing out that fact I made some grammatical mistakes you've proved a very valid point about yourself that you are very tedious and dull! :)

  • no one realized this video is labeled with the wrong title? It's I Believe. (not You and Me)

  • even though half the stuff he said isn't right i still think its funny and this guy is a really good singer

  • WHOO STEPHEN COLBERT!!! the song was a plus

  • haha, kinda got the wrong title on this one....

  • whats so scary about that hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • The last person who responded to my comment on faith and used some professional qbs having faith the ball is going to go where intended the reply I got I was impressed with it said they believe because no elements have changed incredibly. Religion was hearsay I appreciate his point of view but think how do the elements stay that way ? They may change from time to time but mircaculously life can still exist. Common sense tells us that there is a higher power.

  • How many Tony's did this win? I love it!

  • @sexyfriday11 I think 9. i could be wrong, but that's what I remember seeing on a poster at the theater

  • @misskity6 It was nominated for 14, but they only one 9, so you're right

  • I like how people laugh when he just mentions the things Mormons believe. That is the appropriate response.

  • @openeyes999 I'm a Mormon, and you're very right. I don't try to rationalize how strange my belief's are. They can be really freaking weird.

  • To a certain woman...

Love ya!!! :) I already knew about beliefs and a purpose to certain stuff. I just didnt want to believe that I was the one.

Didnt mean to do this to you.

  • *jamming to M&M (white chocolate) "EVIL DEEDS"*

  • full show on my channel

  • This is hilarious I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks and since when has making jokes about people that harass us non-stop not funny!?

  • This performance is so insanely great! I get goosebumps at the end. Also, listening to the album while driving is awesome.

  • Hey, you get your own planet?!?! That totally tops normal Christianity! Can you guys top that, or am I becoming a Mormon?

  • @JHFLEETING Not all of us believe the whole planet thing. Sorry to break it to ya. Lol

  • I'm pretty sure the title of this song is "I Believe" not "You and Me (But Mostly Me)".

  • Why do all the videos of this song have a religious debate going on underneath? It's freaking satire, guys. Take it for what it is: a humorous song with a powerful message that delivers it without taking itself too seriously, courtesy of the amazingly talented Andrew Rannells. Nothing more.

  • @SDVR007

Considering this musical was written by Trey Parker & Matt Stone, I'm guessing the powerful message is, "Religion! LOL!"

  • @SomethingSudden well, yeah, sorta

but the underlying message is that this man's belief is giving him strength to carry out something practically impossible. i think thats something that we can all somewhat relate to

  • @SDVR007

Have you seen the musical? Something tells me this song is tongue-in-cheek & leads to Very Bad Things happening.

I highly doubt it's meant to be inspirational.

  • wow what an amazing talent

  • There was a person who replied to my comment and said to please realize that just because someone is not born a certain faith not to think they are lost. I do! That is why I am Mormon in our faith a man who lives the morals he knows to be right and may not even hear the name of Christ in this life still has a chance to accept His full gospel in the next in a place called the spirit world and when the individual and if the individual accepts he or she may entere the Kingdom of God.

  • @Dandeeman26 & you get your own planet, that's pretty pimp! (normal) Christians, can you top that? I think I may convert!

  • Why is this video titled you and me (but mostly me)?

  • One other thing why the heck do you now also have to make fun of the Islam faith on top of this. We aren't that much at all alike though there are a few similarities and I have known some great Muslims and have respect for their beliefs and admire their comitttment. The terrorists who I won't stick up for give the rest of them a bad name.

  • I think that the thing that you are talking about is faith which is different than blindly believing. Every time Drew Brees or Aaron Rogers throws the ball they fully believe it will go where it is suppose to because of the effort they've put in and passed experiences. Without putting forth the effort of being on your knees and reading the Book of Mormon you will not have the experiences that will come as answers to know if Mormonism is the truth.

  • @Dandeeman26

They have faith the ball will go where it's supposed to because there is no reason to believe that the laws of physics have wildly changed since the last time they threw it. It's based on tangible evidence, and (ultimately) math & science. That's a lot different than religious faith, which is based entirely on hearsay and blind faith... and I'm saying this as someone who actually follows a faith.

  • I'm a Mormon and no I don't think my religion is b.s. just because some guy thinks he is hilarious for making fun of what he can't understand. Just believe ? Since when have we ever told people to just believe? I was a missionary and that is never what I told anyone. However some things you just know deep in your soul. You know it is wrong to kill. A good share of people married know that it is wrong to cheat on their spouse. This is the type of knowledge I know Mormonism is true by thru prayer.

  • I think that when a person says that 1 religion is the utmost true religion, it's absurd. For example, do you really think that if you are not mormon or christian just because of lets say your culture or heritage being a strong point in your life that you get written off? I mean who would just start believing in some elses specific religion if they came into their country and forced it down their throat? God knows this. God goes by many names, please realize this.

  • @Dandeeman26 So... if you didn't pray you would be out murdering people and cheating on your significant other? But you and every other religious group does say to just believe, but you say it more subtly. I have talked to Mormon missionaries, and they say that Joseph Smith talked to god and Jesus, and the whole thing about ancient Jews. They didn't have any evidence. A crazy 14 year old Joe Smith has delusions of biblical figures, and you guys "just believe" it.

  • amazing id fly over to america just to see it :D

  • the black people line is bloody hilarious

  • offended people are part of the fun

  • Okay, now I'm not a Mormon, but I feel this isn't right making fun of them. When you mae fun of Mormons in public it's funny, but when you make fun of Muslims its offensive. Just saying.

And also a lot of this stuff that tey're saying is what the radicals believe. Even though some of their ideas are strange, they do make it to heaven because they believe n Jesus Christ and that he died for our sins. Even if they just add a bunch of stuff to it, doesn't make them go to hell.

  • your thinking backwards you should call out shows for being scared of making fun of muslims. This show uses muslims just to show how all religions viewed from an outsider are all just as silly. Even christianity, jewish faith, muslims, Scientology. None are less ridiculous then the next

  • @readingthelibrary97

"...when you make fun of Muslims its offensive"

Um... Team America: World Police? Everyone gets jokes made about them. As long as it's all in good fun, so what?

As for the "radicals" line - a lot of that is standard doctrine. Some of it was revised, but most of it is still true for the main body of the Mormon church.

  • Also, in the Bible, it specifically says not to add to or take anything out of the 'Word of God.'

Why is it I know more about this stuff, and I'm not even Christian...?

  • 3:34

  • what the fuck is this

  • "I believe, that in 1978 god changes his mind about black people......."

  • Brilliant

  • all about the subtext

  • The only part that is offensive about this song, is that the audience is laughing. Everything is true. My family is Morman, and I find this musical absolutly hilarious. While I left the religion behind a few years ago, I still respect them, and the Morman community is just so kind and accepting, its hard to believe what others say about this group of people they don't even know. Honestly to be a morman, all you have to do is believe.

  • I don't know how any Mormon can be offended by this. He's stating what Mormons believe in. To be offended by what he says, is to be offended by the Mormon religion itself. So there, you Mormons all know it's bullshit deep down.

  • @shawnanthony1992 Telling people their religion is bullshit over the internet. You must be so intelligent.

  • @TyberZann22 Taking a moderately light-hearted comment out of context and sarcastically flipping it around in order to insult me... Well done!

  • @shawnanthony1992

Mormons have this weird tendency to not want to talk about what their religion actually believes in until after you've been indoctrinated. That way you don't laugh at how overwhelmingly stupid it all is.

  • @RocketeerAndRoll Trust me, I know all too well! I was raised in a Mormon household, enough said.

  • @shawnanthony1992 I am not a mormon, but I think the context of the video is describing that mormons don't think about anything, they just believe everything they hear. Therefore, I can see how some might be offended.

  • @zzextras99 Believe me, these are the teachings of the Mormon Church, I was raised in a Mormon household. Mormons do believe they will get their own planet (based on certain criteria) - They were a racist organisation that wouldn't allow black people to be equal members of the Church (until "God changed his mind n 1978") etc. Ergo, to be offended by the statements made in this song is to be offended by the religion itself.

  • @shawnanthony1992 ... omg are you serious? Thats cool in a way. But pretty soon your church is going to believe in something so stupid about how a TEMPLAR KNIGHT of the Catholic church was a demon part of the native amerikan "RACE" from HELL and helped usa in a way. I was actually hoping if this certain "girl" I know did something?

    LOL

  • @DarkPrinceNH5570 It's not MY Church, I made it quite clear I wasn't a member.

  • @shawnanthony1992 You better add trannys and gays to the list too for BRINGING EVERYONE TOGETHER.

masons were like that a long time ago and guess what they do now? They are in your church and are taking orders from a HIGHER POWER to them. But Im going to take a guess about "something".

  • @shawnanthony1992 I ADMIT IT... I believe in ALIENs too. :P And there was a SPECIAL RACE recorded in history that was really good and skilled at something.

  • @shawnanthony1992 To cont. below about aliens. Supposivly Germans figured something out about humans and so on and applied all knowledge to bring this together. Religion (biblical history stories) and science and all this other stuff. Like why some people are black and white and tan skin and so on. Why some peoples traits are different. I cant remember what it was called since I cant find it but Im still not sure if that was proven. It was more of a conspiracy! Like saying why humans were made?

  • @shawnanthony1992 Look up ROOT RACE on internet (Aryans). Its not what you think. Before you bring this all together. How was the EARTH formed first? Core, gravity, and all this other shit.

  • @DarkPrinceNH5570 Okay, with all due respect, shut up. You're filling my email inbox with your non-sensical ranting.

  • @shawnanthony1992 Root Race = TAU (Aryan)

You are talking to one of the DEVILs that you angel talked about.

    BOO!!!

  • @zzextras99 He is right though. This is what Mormons actually believe in. It would be offensive if he started singing stuff like "I'm Mormon and stupid."

  • @BroDovakhiin Listen to this song Im listening to while this video is on mute. Just imagine if m singing fitted this video. This would be awesome.

  • @BroDovakhiin Right but it is intending that exact message. That mormons don't question anything, they just believe everything they hear. That they "just believe" is to say that they do not think about anything. It is similer to saying gingers have no soul.

  • I have to say with no irony I have recently become aware I will not have my own planet, and it's a big disapointment. I am not trying to be funny, I am a mormon who has recently realized my church's history isn't want I thought.

  • @praxisnexus

    sorry bro.

    welcome to earth.

  • @praxisnexus Everyone who's ever had faith deals with that disillusionment. But the point of having faith isn't to take everything literally. The point is to find the real message within the symbolism, to live a happier life for a purpose bigger than yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • i think mormons make some craxy claims and they believe some bogus crap that is without a doubt untrue and their apologist piss me off b/c they cop out but I will say this.....every mormon I have meet has been an exceptionally kind honest person however that does not excuse the stupid crap they believe in. At least they are not like musliums

  • My brother is Mormon.Though this musical spoofs the Mormon religion.Since I'm Catholic I have no problem with it,in fact I listen to the soundtrack every single day. This song is a little racist, but "Hasa Diga Ebowie"is the most offense. So listen to that song before you complain about this .

  • @BrodwayCraze

How is this song racist? "Mormon" isn't a race, and they don't make actual disparaging remarks about any race. Otherwise, good on ya.

  • this is amazing, haha, glad that I found a life version of 'I BELIEVE(!!)'. :D

  • hahaha--"And I believe that in 1978 God changed his mind about black people"

  • i have no problem with this, it's funny actually, but i wonder if they have the guts to do something like this about muslims and Islam, i'd bet you they won't, it's funny how these jokers suddenly limit their free speech and art when they know someone's going to kick their ass! :-0

  • @thebiens

Way to speak out of your ass. They made fun of islam and they've even depicted muhammad.

  • @bvp510 Until Comedy Central said they couldn't anymore :P

  • @thebiens They did the Mohammed episodes to make a point on it, actually. Comedy Central refused to show the footage. If you go alllll the way back and watch the David Blain Cult episode, they actually have Mohammed as a member of the Super Best Friends, alongside Jesus, Joseph Smith, Vishnu, and others.

  • @thebiens Mormans are much funnier than muslims. besides the creators had a reason they chose this religion; it's not like they were trying to play it safe.

  • @thebiens They already HAVE poked fun at muslims. And they got censored by their network. and they faced threats of violence. poking fun at muslim extremists (and i say extremists because this does NOT apply to all muslim people), and in fact extremists of any kind, can be legitimately dangerous because they HAVE harmed people who don't agree with them. LOTS of people.

  • had to rate dislike only bc worng title. great song tho

  • type in the story of mormon or do research on it, crazy stuff... If you think the Bible is crazy which I'm not saying I do or don't but they add their own book on top of it and it's insane.....

  • may you burn twice

  • :)

  • Hm. I see the humor in it and that they're essentially making fun of LDS but...85% of it is so correct it's sort of questionable....

  • Wow.. making fun of Mormons. How daring. Let's see a catchy number or two about Islam.

  • @Emjay711 I would see the Islam one

  • @Emjay711 The mormons deserve to be made fun especially because the mormons have been in the long time competition with the Catholics and feel the need to copy everything that they do just so that the mormons can try to be one up on them... they're idiots

  • @Whyzitsotough I'm Catholic, but you shouldn't judge other people's beliefs because Mormons might be thinking the same thing.

  • @BrodwayCraze I don't care what mormons think, they have been proven by so many researchers throughout the decades to be blasphemous

  • Dang it!

  • Ok for the last fucking time guys, I know some of you are offended but honestly just shut the Hell up it's the guys who made South Park. What were you expecting. If you really want to protest something protest the Spider Man musical, the one that actually deserves it.

  • U mad bro?

  • lmao

  • IF Mormonism is a crock of crap, and Jesus is a hoax, believing all the precepts of this Christian religion would still be the greatest way anyone could ever raise and family and live their life!. This disgusting Broadway show only exists as "free speech," because NO one would want a law suit, but, it is sick, & disgusting entertainment for the equally sick and disgusting people who might go and watch it. So terribly sad.

  • @bigbandsrock1 how about you go abolish free speech, oh glorious leader kim jong il?

then no one in your utopian world would have to be exposed to this "sick, disgusting entertainment"

  • @bigbandsrock1 ...im a good person. i come from a wonderful family who loves me and i love them. i have a wonderful job, wonderful friends. i bring happiness to A LOT of people i do not know every single day. i was raised without religion. a congregation of christians once made me feel inadequate, a bad person, when i respectfully denied their pressing advances for me to join their religion. they made me hate religion. this show restored my indifference. so...be quiet. we're not all like you.

  • @bigbandsrock1 The writers of the show aren't saying that religion is stupid. they're saying that in every religion, in judaisim, hinduism, islam, and every branch of christianity including mormonism, there are details that sound utterly stupid when taken literally, and it's OKAY to poke fun at that. It's also okay to have faith in something that helps you live a better and happier life. The writers believe that faith, used correctly, gives people hope and appreciation of life. they respect that

  • this is not the right song for the title ;-\

  • This is just a musical.... keep your views to yourself.. It is meant to simply entertain.

  • I can't wait to see this live!

  • why do people take themselves so seriously on here? it's a musical that satirizes mormonism and instead of saying "hey, it's just a musical" they get thrown into a blind panic as if the very foundation of their faith is being taken out from under them. if a musical can shake your faith and raise the hackles on your neck so strongly, i suggest you review what you actually believe instead of what others are saying about it. :)

  • @Compass427 It just bothers me that people don't represent facts correctly because they don't agree with the faith. Historical facts should be represented accurately for all religions not just the LDS faith. All in all the musical was great, it made me laugh.

  • If you laughed at this while being a Christian just remember you believe that if you telepathically communicate with an invisible man to let him know that you think he had a son who is him and that son became a zombie for you that you get to go to a place and tell this invisible man all day long forever how great he is for making everything.

  • @CharlesNauck Yes that's exactly what it is. Earthly terms at all. You got everything figured out.

  • @CharlesNauck I think THIS is the reason some evangelicals oppose Romney as President. If people begin to explore Mormonism they will inevitably begin to look at Christianity in a new way and see the utter buffoonery of it. It's already happened, I believe, for the silent majority in this country.

  • @peajmac

They see the writing on the wall. While I don't believe there is a majority of Atheists I do see three things happening. One Christians as a whole are giving up faith for logic in lots of areas. Two Atheist are growing in numbers making it more acceptable to become an atheist/freethinker. Three the fact that there are so few things left for god to do makes it easier for people to give up the idea of god.

  • @peajmac

Fundies are the reaction to this... they dont realize however for every Christian they convert to their way of thinking they make a greater number of Christians turn away partially or completely from Christianity. I dont know if the rise of atheism makes me happy... it was nice when if someone told me they were an freethinker it meant they were smarter then the average person... soon that wont be true (it will be harder to make smart friends and sleep with smart women).

  • Am I the only one who got excited when they saw Colbert?

  • MUST. SEE. NOWWWWWW.

  • ...and the hunt for the seenoevil131 comment begins!

  • this dude has an amazing voice

  • yes

  • He reminds me of Ryan Reynolds... except even more awesome

  • Haha part of it is a sound of Music spoof

    :)

  • andrew has a great voice!

  • BOM is the BOMB

  • The one live video of the performance and it has the wrong title :/

  • LOL

  • this isn't you and me. it's called I believe (obviously)

  • I have to see this musical D:

  • BOM = BOOK OF MORMON = BEING AWESOME! :D

  • @saradcc how did this get marked as spam lol

  • Most people blindly believe everything people tell them. They don't question or want to know the background of things.Wisdom starts with wonder. If people would take the time to read the history of religions and question the things that are weird, I am sure it will be a completely different outcome. Religion as we know it, doesn't unite people but it does the opposite. It judges people, cultures, beliefs, ideologies. It undermines the true essence of spirituality which is the right of free will.

  • @saradcc Your stupid! :D
