i'm not sure where you're making that connection....men (maybe not 100%, but nearly all men), whether they are evil rapists and pillagers or not, have a genetic disposition to protect women they care about. I can guarantee you, if Mongols and Visgoths had female soldiers, the males would be protective of them. And in being protective rather than focused, soldiers endanger themselves and their units. This is why women should never serve in front-line combat units.

jusitke, police officers go home at the end of the day. police officers don't live together in combat the way soldiers do. they don't share foxholes the way soldiers do. it's an apples and oranges comparison and there really is no comparison to the military in the civilian world. the military is a singularly unique organization with one primary mission...to kill people and break stuff. gays serving openly would be distractions, compromising that mission.

Over 25 countries now openly allows homosexuals to be in the military.
The military relies on skills such as strengths, agility, tactics, etc. and being gay doesn't deprive one of such qualities.

i'm not sure where you're making that connection....men (maybe not 100%, but nearly all men), whether they are evil rapists and pillagers or not, have a genetic disposition to protect women they care about. I can guarantee you, if Mongols and Visgoths had female soldiers, the males would be protective of them. And in being protective rather than focused, soldiers endanger themselves and their units. jusitke, being a woman in the military in war time is risky, no doubt...but that doesn't change the fact that the women are NOT serving in FRONT LINE COMBAT UNITS. they are in hospitals, supply, administrative offices, etc. can an errant mortar hit one of these places and kill a female soldier? absolutely. but it's still not the same as serving in a combat unit the way men do.
