  • I liked your video very much.

  • Bye Dixie, you will be missed.

  • I so miss you Dixie.......what a face.....georgous!!!!!! Perfection.......Rest in Joy....I know you have a great spot in the Choir.....

  • Dixie sounds like what my mom thinks of trains. This proves that you can anything you want at any age if you really want it.

  • I am so shocked, I never even knew she was ill! She looked beautiful in this appearance, it is very sad, we lost so many great artists in the last two years, and now Dixie carter to! Very sad! And she was still very young!

  • May she rest in peace

  • Question To All... Somebody help me out... December 4, 2008... was she sick then?

  • @BuhGuh28 Yeah, she had been sick a little over 2 years before she passed. You'd never know it just by looking at this video, though. She was the best!

  • @TheRAH14 Indeed! Thanks for the info! Cheers.

  • Rest In Peace, Dixie! Blessings...

  • Her genuine grace will be sorely missed. Wish other young actresses would take notes and study Dixie's flawless talent and eloquence.

  • Glad to know this dixie carter is still alive

  • @RIPdixiecarter ...what a profound sweet sentiment... indeed!

  • Oh yes, forgot to mention that I am from Poplar Bluff, MO, where Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is from & the Designing Women character 'Charlene' as well......always loved hearing comments about PB & the Mules!

  • I watched Designing Women from age 6 to now (as I catch the reruns & have the DVDs). My grandmother was soooo much like her in the 80s & 90s, she's quite frail & fading now but I'll never forget the charisma & Southern class of both of them. RIP Dixie....you are much admired. My heart goes out to Hal (another fabulous actor) & her beautiful daughters.

  • RIP Baby! xo

  • I love both of these women. We will miss you Dixie!

  • she looks like a news anchor in Canada from the 1980s/1990s.

She seemed so ladylike and classy.

    Goodbye. I will remember you

  • I love her and am so sad. She was such a true Southern Lady. A TRUE LADY INDEED!

  • R.I.P.

  • I knew Dixie and she was amazing. Not only talented but one of the nicest, most genuine people you would ever want to meet. Her husband Hal is a true class act as well.

  • Dixie Carter was such a classy lady, she will be greatly missed! :(

  • Rest in peace Dixie. We will miss you more than you can imagine. Dixie Carter was a class act - through and through. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with the world. Gone way too soon. God Bless the family and friends. ddpool - thank you for posting this video.

  • rest in peace Dixie Carter, i will always remember your grace and humour, we'll miss you.

  • RIP

  • Truly a vision of class, and apart of a groundbreaking show with an equally marvelus cast. Dixie you will be greatly missed!

  • rest in peace Dixie

  • Dixie Carter was and is a class act. She will be missed. RIP Dixie Carter. I loved her on the Designing Women. They all had chemestry.

  • God Bless Dixie- What a class act- such a gracious and wonderful human being she was. So sad to lose her so young.

  • r.i.p.

  • Hal Holbrook is a complete asshole. I was a waiter at a restaurant in DC and both Hal and Dixie would dine there while he was doing some work at the Shakespeare Theatre. Dixie was ALWAYS kind and pleasant. Hal was ALWAYS a complete JERK!

  • Hal Holbrook doesn't go to burger queen!!!..OH yeah..Hal told me about U...he said what he got tired of was YOUR complete gayness to only chit chat about designing women...

  • @UFOSPACE1999 Did I hit a nerve UFO ALIEN? You are a freak and obviously a bitter one. Eat shit and die, fucker.

  • @dontbesobitter It took you a while to get back to the UFOSpace person. Well, I probably wouldn't have been as rude as that person, but from everything I've ever heard and read, Hal is a really nice guy. Maybe you caught him at a bad time (or times). Dixie and Hal were a great couple, very happy together, so I can't imagine either one would have been too disagreeable a majority of the time.

  • @TheRAH14 Hal and Dixie was in my restaurant at least three times. He was ALWAYS rude. She was always lovely. One time he yelled at her through the entire dinner. Word on the street in DC was that he was mean and arrogant with everyone. You are the first person I have ever heard from that has said he was kind.

  • @dontbesobitter Hmmm...well, the only thing I know is maybe he was going through a bad time personally because I am friends with a couple of people who know Hal & Dixie and they both said that the 2 of them were always very sweet and caring, especially toward each other. Don't know the man myself, but I trust that my friends sincerely like him. Whatever he was angry about, it couldn't have been too serious because they always spoke very highly of each other.

  • @hoehawk99 I was responding to someone who's name was UFO...are you ten years old and cannot read you fucking douche?!

  • This is not the Dixie Carter I was thinking of.

  • She makes it seem like her career didn't start 'til she moved to Hollywood at 40, but she'd already been in New York for a long time, had starred for several years on the soap "The Edge of Night", and had seen success as a stage actress.

  • "Perhaps it is." These two are irresistibly charming.

  • Her husband Hal Holbrook is a cool guy...LUCKY guy too!

  • AaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAa

  • Dixie is sexy-sophisticated, the entire cast of Designing Woman was truly an ensamble cast, classy and always entertaining, and always a thought provoking subject being discussed on the show. Very much a cutting edge program for the mostly roller coaster, controversial 80's! I wish these woman would design a come back, just for a reunion show as "The Sugarbakers" once again. Thank's for the laughs girls!

  • @italobambino43 Dixie Carter just died.

  • @italobambino43 RIP Dixie CArter

  • She and the rest of that cast, were truly an ensamble cast, when Delta Berke the show kind of hung around, then Jean Smart departed and then it changed even more so, however, the true content of the show hadn't changed, it was still a good run, thank's for the laughs ladies!

  • oh, I miss Julia! she's great! =D

  • she looks great!

  • Designing Womaen Is on DVD

  • only "the Best of" , but season one comes out May 2009

  • I love Dixie Carter. I hope Designing Women gets on DVD!

  • I totally love this woman, she's so sweet in person!!!

  • @barbras7 she's dead now.

  • @kimmo4444

I'm in disbelief...even more after watching this interview again. She seemed so full energy and life and was simply radiant here. So unbeliveably sad. Sending her family lots of love..

  • @barbras7

I never had the honor of meeting her in person, but loved her in everything she was in, there will never be another Julia Sugarbaker aka Dixie Carter, my heart goes out to her family & frirends. Rest In Peace Dixie. We Love you!!!

  • Yay, I haven't seen her forever, thank you for posting this!!
