  • happy birthday big guy -- just like Black Muddy River you are looking down on the earth and other spheres from the universal spirit realm......jammin' with Pig, Marley and Lennon and let it rock....... rock......rock

  • I seem to rememberJGB doing "Imagine" at the Palo Alto Keystone around '78 or '79. Anyone have that on tape?

  • hey guys what a night ♫ look around round round ♫

  • hey guys

  • Jerry, it never gets tiring.

  • Trouble Ahead Jerry in Red!

Less then 4 months from his 86 coma and 27 days after his return to preforming, JGB played a show at the Henry J Kaiser Convention Center....epic!

  • great cover! :o) one of my favorites, like to jam it in my car cruizing by the beach in the morning!

  • went to see melvin seals & jgb in hartford a few weeks ago, got there a little late for the last song of first set which was...an epic dear prudence. then our car got towed and we missed the rest of the show but the dear prudence made it worth the while, and 110$ to get our car back. i hate tow drivers.

  • Nice funky drummin'!

  • one of the best songs ever. the wa he played it was always so incredible no musician ever like him and never will be

  • @blizzfool except maybe the oringinal singer :)

  • How can anyone not like this?

  • JGB Forever

  • JGB>MULE>BEATLES>PHISH

In my oppinion. (for this song)

  • This was Jer's 5th show after his coma. He played four shows The Stone in San Francisco on October 4, 5, 18 & 19, 1986 before this night.

  • best show i ever saw. jerry band opened for bob weir and kingfish.

  • better than beatles

  • because these people can actually play their instruments

  • tru dat

  • Where does Gov't Mule get off trying to cover this song. While the version I saw them do at The Fillmore last Fall was sick, JGB's still blows it away!

    SF Native '69

  • Man mule does a damn good job of covering it, you cant ever match jerry but they do a damn good job of covering it.

Hear em 2 nights ago at the ryman and they did this, it was actually great.

  • Warren Haynes has earned it ! He can play anything well, his voice is beutiful.

  • @richiemabie I've been a fan of Warren Haynes since the early 90s when he joined the Allmans, I've seen the Mule a half dozen times, but personally I wasn't that crazy about his gig with the Dead.

  • @originalfunkyfry i'd have 2 agree a little with ya.. and i love govt. mule. but i think it was W.H was goin in the same direction as dead but just a little bit of a nitch off from what the dead was. i heard b4 W.H. they dead wanted carlos santana.. and i think he would have been a better choice.... he was still in his own nitch and still wouldnt have matched... i think if anyone would have been able to come close to mimic jerry's tune could only be eric....

  • @fogtownfilms where do you get off ragging on the mule? phish covered this also.

  • @Praying4tidalWaves Dude, I said Gov't Mule "was sick" (sick means good in case you didn't know) when I saw 'em at The Fillmore. JGB's version is just better. Jerry and Melvin kill it!

  • Why do write that? tough song and he has a dead style. Also This video's sound really sucks.

  • For 1986 ?

  • I love Jerry. He's truly an American treasure. Luckily, he's also one of the most recorded musicians ever. So, needless to say his music WILL live on forever!

"bound to cover just a little more ground.... "

  • @slipnutt

Everytime I hear jer sing this tune reminds me of a small club in Petaluma around the early 80's and the "new" surround sounds revolving in that small place with a stage three inches above gronud and me near the front of jerry and melvin and his b3.

  • awesome

  • This must be one of his first performances after his coma

  • i love jgb version. jerrys voice with that tite bass line kick ass

  • Gee not to mention he fucking wales on the fucking guitar!" tight bass" whatever man
