  • Gordo and Warren, I like that. I like that a lot.

  • I like the sound of the Rhodes in the beginning. Also, the slide sounds awesome too.

As others have mentioned, Phish does a nice version of this as well. Both are strong performances, though I think I like this one slightly better.

  • @TheWatcher516 32/20!!??? Please post that if you have it!

  • @DerekAKimbro Unfortunately 32/20 is only on the CD set and not the DVD. Maybe I will see if I can pull the audio and post it on here with a picture in the background or something. It is a kickass version though.

  • @TheWatcher516 I have the CD set, KICKASS: YES. I'd just love to see it live! One of my favorite takes of 32/20 I've ever heard! Would like it to be the best I've SEEN, but thanks anyways brother! Keep the faith, or something inspirational can go here.

  • 4 People were deaf and very upset that they couldn't hear this!

  • Is that Mike Gordon playing bass?? Looks and acts just like him.

  • If there's any justice in the world, Warren has a little cock.

  • Lowell George would be proud.

  • The hardest working most underappreciated assasin out there!

  • 3:97 ....UHHH

  • Hell Yeah!

  • ..im just in love with this whole night of sublime mule and friends. (we miss you, AW).

  • Watched it from the orchestra pit with my elbows on the stage right in front of Warren Haynes. The camera boom was directly over my head. Music magic was made that night yall.......music magic.

  • Gov't Mule is the reincarnation of Lowell George's Little Feat...LQQKie here, I have always loved the Allman Brothers...but grasshopper, you have exceeded your master. PLAY--PLAY--PLAY!!!

  • @MrWhisper72 Actually neither of those bands are featured in this video. This is govt mule meeting Sonny Landreth.

  • @PhillyPhunk you hear what u here and i hear what i hear. agree to disagree?

  • @MrWhisper72 Sorry I cant agree pink floyd and eric clapton are in this video because its obvious theyre not.

    Put down the crack pipe.

  • Mobile was the heat....now ready for gulf shores, then atlanta in july with Dave Matthews....

  • hey all i've just discovered the brilliance of these guys (bout 10 years too late) whats a good album of theirs to start with? cheers

  • 15 years,

  • @smudgeblooze Hello, im just getting into Mule myself, i bought The debut album, Dose and life before insanity. good place to start i would say! =)

  • @smudgeblooze Life Before Insanity and The Deepest End have been my favorites. Dose is very good too.

  • great version

    Has anyone got the chords?

after the intro it sounds like

    Bb (sun rises..)

    Eb (it's high time...)

    F# (...people you misuse...)

    F(stop) (on your way...)

    Bb (...down)

    any advances on this?

  • Rock on...! That's what I proudly called feeling. Great band, grat music.

  • Allen Toussaint wrote it, but Lowell George and Little Feat owned it - just listen to the live version from Ultrasonic Studios in April 1973, rebroadcast on WLIR and immortalized on the Teenage Nervous Breakdown bootleg - absolutely brilliant interplay of slide guitar, electric piano and organ. Gov't Mule does a very respectable and respectful version here.

  • there's plenty of musicans that can sing and play well..and then there's the unique few ,like Warren, that can "lay it down and preach....straight from the heart"

    Ever wonder why?....it's ......SoulBrother.

  • Ever heard of...Allen Toussaint?

  • Great singing!

  • Just another example of the incredible artistry that is Warren Haynes and CO. Two of the best sliders on the planet together. About a month and a half for two shows in a row in Denver. Sonny has family in Allen/Estes Park maybe he'll show, that would be too much. Saw Sonny in Ft. Collins last fall great fretwork. Show's 19/20 for Gov't Mule. Mule always brings it to Colorado. Peace.

  • @soulmover

Song is written by Allen Toussaint - has been performed by Little Feat/Lowell George and I think Boz Scaggs, also Elvis Costello

    It's just a great song

  • i was there. front row. best set of bassists around. since. can't wait till Jan.. mobile al...

  • I'll be seeing them one day before you in Orlando.

  • @cfg7777 how was orlando??

  • Does anyone have the lyrics to this song?

  • its a llowell george little feat song

  • its a track of the dixie chicken album

  • Got Mule? Hell yes!

  • sweet soul....

  • I've seen em yesterday in Vienna. Great concert, great band, great music! Love'em or hate music at all

  • I love it .. seen um at huntter mountin Jam ,,,,

  • Sonny and Govt Mule will be seperate Touring in November in Europe! So maybe both together would be GREAT!

    Superband!

  • theres way too much awesome here for me to handle

  • KICK ASS ROCK & ROLL

With a little sweet southern blues.

    Hot Damn

  • No it was like 6:30 when he was way up the neck, then at like 6:40 where he slides down ...what a lick...great sound !

  • That was awesome at 6:49...Warren & Sonny Rock it out..Slide style ! OMG

  • Sonny Landreth and Mike Gordon, interesting combo

  • It might not be a tribute to Little Feat, but the great Allen Trousant.

  • Got the DVD, awsome is all I can say. It don't hurt to have Mike Gordon on the bass either.

  • Great live band!!!

  • Warren is The Best !!!

  • Yeah little feat!

  • ^5 oh yeah thanks

  • sweet jam, i wish the quality was better to put on CD though

  • kick ass love this one

  • warren is so bad ass rock on Mule

  • good jam. warren is the man, like D. Mathaws said.. HE IS THE MAN...peace

  • never disappointed

    always one goodtime.

    thanks warren

  • nothing like a good slideshow lowell is smiling above

  • Warren is an amazing player/composer but an underated singer.....for slide I have to give the edge to Derek T.

  • Derek is a fantastic slide guitar player, but I bet if you ask me Warren is just a bit better..apples and oranges?..Now Sonny? he's in a league all his own!

  • yea absolutely, warrens no slouche but the fact is trucks is really a "slide specialist" as clapton called him as Sonny Landreth is too, but again no disrespect to haynes

  • DT might be better on slide, question is who would you rather pay to see WH or DT ?

  • @richiemabie well duh id go see the allman bros

  • I love when some one can make a guitar cry and talk like this .Dang it's like it is there best friend .And I do here a little feet in there too.Respect to you .

  • killer!!

  • As for the dvd, its killer. But for a really amazing live performance by an equally amazing band check out the dvd "Truckin' Up To Buffalo" - Grateful Dead. That or look up Dave Matthews Band - Cortez The Killer feat. Warren Haynes on electric. Best version of Cortez I've heard since the "One For Woody" cd's

  • This is a great clip. Sonny Landreth is killer, ,ut no matter how good any guest is, Warren is ahead of them by a mile. In my oppinion, hes one of the best guitarists of his generation. As for our generation? Its three amazing musicians: John Mayer, John Frusciante, and Derek Trucks.

  • so you read the rolling stone huh?

  • made me life bro

  • CAAAAAAACTUS!

  • Mule rocks!! Can't wait to see them tomorrow night!!

  • Sonny is good and all, but I still prefer Warren's playing.

  • Gov't Mule fucking smokd this!

  • Matt Abts is a superb drummer.

  • ahh this is all distorted.

  • When i feel like SHIT, i only have to listen to Gov´t Mule for an hour, then I´m GOOD !!

  • never heard of this guy. just stumbled across this video by chance as I was trying to track down the song. Just been to see Little Feat and they playeda fantastic version of this song, which features on their Dixie Chicken album. This is good tho'

  • damn man, you're just now hearing about the mule? hate to say it, but you're off your game....best jam band of their generation...i'm going to see them this saturday....:)))))))))))

  • best jam band of their generation? I assume you have never seen the Allmans unless you are suggesting they are from different generations

  • alright, my bad....idk how but somehow i forgot about the allman bros......second best?

  • the singer/guitar player, Warren Haynes, has been playing in the Allman Bros for almost 20 years now. I actually prefer Gov't Mule over the Allman's though.

  • third? little feat?

  • I'd assume that's a different generation myself... Based on the 30 year gap between the bands, that is. lol. Great bands in both cases, though.

  • You are taking a lot of heat over this mule...thing....Personally, Mike Finnegan, B3 organ player on tour with Joe Cocker....played with Stephen Stills, Hendrix, etc. al. did this live in Wichita, Ks. and blew the house down! So, here I am looking for the song....another newbie to the Mule!

  • saw`mike finnegan in 1970 at the the fillmore east he was vocalist and keyboardist with the jerry hahn botherhood his work with dave mason was tremendous

  • DAMN got the dvd.. The deepest end. (GOVT MULE) checek out voode chile!! it is worth it!!

  • I Agree with you 100%. Just recently got the dvd myself. It kicks ass.

  • Have to say it, Warren is the new Jerry Garcia. He plays everything. Got Mule?

  • In no way I'm I trying to discredit Jerry or Warren, or you for that matter yourself, but there will never be another Jerry just like there will never be another Warren. Both at the top of my list!

  • Just saw Sonny last night. The man is PHENOM!

  • Sonny really is a one of a kind guitarist.

Mule's the Mule, just the fucking best.

  • So amazing Sonny

  • thought this was an elvis costello song...no?

  • No... this song was written by Allen Toussaint performed by Little Feat, sung by Lowell George it's off of the Dixie Chicken Album...hope this helps!

  • AWESOME!

  • Gov't Mule and Sonny Landreth = MONEY

Great job on the Little Feat song

  • He's starting to look a bit like BB King, resting the guitar on his stomach while gesticulating with his left hand :-p

  • jcmarra has lost his dam mind.

  • Warren Haynes was born for the stage

  • MR. WARREN HAYNES

  • yeah right....you should listen better mate.

  • I wish I had access to the blues bars you are speaking of!!! I'd be a drunk and probably have my own bar stool.

  • Dude, anytime Sonny Landreth steps out on stage it's automatically world class.

  • right on bro,Sonny has class too spare..

  • There are very few bands that can cover the Little Feat, as good as this...you don't know much about music do you

  • 1 word. research.

  • is that why they are paid to play all over the world? me thinks that you are just a moron with no ear for musical talent. EVERYONE knows Warren Haynes... but I'm having trouble figuring why no one knows you.

  • this is as about as far as you get from a bar band, these guys are alot more versatile then the blues and they do a killer job here.

  • very nice! though: ...reminds me of the late great (the one and only on vocal & slide)- Lowell George!

  • THIS IS GREAT1111111111111

  • got mule?

  • Amen! Bro!

  • AWESOME tribute to Lowell George!!! rock on fellas

  • Great great stuff

  • Warren, Sonny and Toussaint - don't need to say more...

  • sonny rules

  • fantastic.....

  • actually, its an Allen Toussaint song. he produced the Meters. little feat covered it.

  • gordo!!!

  • nice

  • Great take on an old Lowell George/Little Feat tune!

  • Couldn't agree more! And I had never heard of this band... Best piece of music I've heard in years!
