@OwenJHayward These are the real deal. Many have been developed from the originals, for example the Iron Awes are up to versions 5&6. Matilda was the original one but with some modifications to avoid copyright issues. Other robots were on display there in their original form as static displays, including ours - robot Lightning from the final 7th Wars. We don't compete nowadays, just turn up for a day out :-)

@OwenJHayward Well Chaos 2 was retired. Razor was last heard of doing childrens parties as a static display. I think the House robots are in storage mostly. Steel Avenger has just been sold and will be fighting again shortly. A couple of the Plunderbird machines just exist as empty shells now. Stinger has gone rusty. Many now have been turned into newer versions such as Thor and Gravity 5 (2 was on series 7). Tough as Nails still fights.

@thedeadlydoombug Well I have met Kim Davies the driver, and he is a really nice guy, as nice as he appears on the show. The robot was broken up and sold as pieces - auctioned to raise money for a charity. Shame it doesn't exist anymore but at least it all went to a good cause.

@thedeadlydoombug But at least you know what happened to it. I can cheer you up a little anyway. The Panic Attack that was sold off in bits was the series 2 one, so the later one may still exist. I don't know for sure. Sometimes roboteers do sell their robots. Check out Fighting Robots Association web site. I know Steel Avenger was sold this year and will be making a come back at the live events with a new owner. I've no idea how much they sell for. Before you ask, Lightning isn't for sale :-)

@Calvertfilm Damn it! (@ Lightning.) Anyway, im sure i saw a static Chaos 2 @ A live event a few years ago. So at least i still know they are around! :D I must go on a hunt! As i live near where Marlon Pritchard used to live i thought i might seek for help. But then i found out that he moved to Australia. >:(

@thedeadlydoombug You'll find some of the roboteers on the forums. Search out the FRA (Fighting Robot Association) and Roaming Robots ones. I didn't know he moved.

@Calvertfilm @nostalgiacriticfan09, It isn't the same Matilda as the one in the televised program. This one in particular was built by Alan Gribble, the same person who worked with Pussycat.

@MasterExploder61 If Alan did build it, then I was not aware of that. You may well be right. It looks like a modified show robot to me (they had two of each type).

@badwolf66 i know me and my mate were there. he had to ask why she didnt at least have her old chainsaw. the guy presenting gave some excuse like it wouldnt be fair on the small robots. we were both thinking that was the biggest load of rubbish we ever heard

Was that the original Matilda from Robot Wars? Just wondering since it appears to have had quite a few changes made, presumably to bring it back into working order. It doesn't look the same with the green eyes, shorter tusks and absense of a flywheel.

@thesimpletonthing Yes, that is one of the originals. You have pointed out the main changes, I think that is to get over copyright issues. I think. Her bodywork feel off twice the next day. She was disrobed.

@spongebot64 I don't know. I think it was Iron Awe 5 that won this early afternoon session from 12-2pm. But the event is made up of 6 of these sessions, and I'm not sure if they all count towards the final thing. You'll have to check the Roaming Robots web site over the next few days.
