As I understand it, this is an unreleased song back from when he called himself "The Noise" and not "The Weeknd". The sound is similar to the tracks from his "The Noise EP". Therefore I don't think this is his new sound, but rather his old sound. I still like it though.
I guess some are going to hate on this song because it isn't exactly like all his other work and isn't slow and etheral. I'm going to go ahead and say this song is catchy. I like it.
