I was collecting for a charity in the foyer of a supermarket today. The high ceiling caused a great resonance and I found myself whistling the opening sequence. I hadn't heard it in a long while. Just shows beautiful music stays with you!!
You're so peaceful when listening to this track, that you don't it to end...One of my favorites movie ever, and James Coburn and Rod steiger are so awesome in this movie :) !
thank you so much for putting this on. I love this movie so much, its one of the best western movies ever made for me. I love the scene with rod steiger, hes such a good actor. Even though i'm young i still adore these old western films, this and the good the bad and the ugly is my fave. Ennio morricone's music is amazing.
@littledragonshaz many thanks for your very nice comment littledragon ;)......glad u enjoyed this upload...and yes you are right ennio morricone's music is amazing....;)
Dear friends there's a version of GIU LA TESTA (main theme) I remember from my childhood, but instead of voice is human whistle... Been looking for that version haven's found it yet, any hint?
ive just been listening to this song, and reading some of the comments, now i feel like crying,i feel happy and sad at the same time, its a weird feeling.
@LeBearExtrordinare thankyou for your comment my friend......its not only a beautiful piece of music but a wonderful movie too i think......highlights for me are the opening cut which features a quote from mao tse tung....and the 'revolution' sequence in which juan tells sean the harsh reality of the revolution for the peasants...i also love the montaged looking back shots of sean and his irish republican comrades...all that and a fantastic score from morricone......what a movie....!!!
@davidleigh65 no,thank you so much for posting this,im irish myself,so this film has a little bit of significance to me.but reading what spa4 wrote,it really put everything into perspective for me.thank again, and have a good christmas :)
@LeBearExtrordinare i understand you, this music has a wide range of emotiuon to it,and the best music with the most feel 2 it then any movie i have ever seen! this song is sad yet comforting and i love, love, love, whistling it.
@lightningsplitter i know my comment seemed cheezy, but that genuinely how i feel about this song, but heres something cool, the bar in which james coburns character shoots his friend and those soldiers,i actually live around the corner from it,its called "toners" and is still opened today :)
I've finally figured out something about Westerns: the good ones. They're all sad at their core: loneliness, longing, despairation, and finally death--being removed from all that was safe and familiar. James Coburn's character already had that at the beginning, Rod Steiger's character experienced it near the middle. Morricone captured that melancholic aspect of Westerns in his music better than anyone ever could.
oh man, i really hope to god you can upload one song for me, its been bugging me for like a year cause i cant find this soundtrack anywhere, im pretty sure its johns (sean!?) song.
it playswhen he blows up the stolen coach near the begining of the movie (wich is really about 40 minutes in)
its a damn catchy song and i reaaallly want to hear a full version of it

There's something about this track i can't put my finger on,..She loved it and felt at peace everytime she heard it...Rod Steiger had a powerful impact in the movie during his' revolution speech' while
this was playing ......anyway thanks again for keeping it posted on here.

Beautiful music. Ennio Morricone knows how to touch you. Deeply. And the movie is fantastic. God bless Sergio and Ennio, a perfect match.
