I don't know whether that is a bit undemined by the fact that Stewie, over the course of the series has tried to hit on Brian several times in a very overt way.

I'd agree that, from Brian's perspective, Stewie doesn't really go past being his brother or confidante, but with Stewie, I think Brian is a million different things to him. But whatever it is, it's a sweet relationship.
