Its a bipod; not tripod. Tripods are for cameras and heavy machine guns.

@SgtIoda actually a tripod is a stand with 3 legs, tri=3. A bipod has 2 legs, bi=2. A monopod has 1 leg, mono=1.

A tripod or a monopod can still be used for a rifle, not just cameras and heavy weapons.
