  • Good news for you. The SQL Dev License is per user. If you the user own 5 computers then you can install it on all 5 machines.

  • I want to install this on both my desktop pc and also a laptop. Would I have to purchase (2) separate copies to install on both systems? Or will one copy work for multiple installations?

  • This is a good video, but I wanted to build-up the lightsaber a little more, so it is disliked. But remember, it's a decent video.

  • It's a good idea to proof read before you upload.

  • Sure, we need to make sure you can see as many videos as possible. If you can’t get the browser to work and you want the full book of videos its 3.5 hours’ worth on a DVD for $39. Go to the Joes 2 Pros web site click the “Buy Now” tab and you can see how to buy books or DVDs.

  • The video is very helpful, however I am having trouble following the book labs because I cannot access any of the Joes 2 Pros servers. Would you please advise so I can practice executing and running queries? Thanks!

  • Would this installation work for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010? MS Dynamics requires SQL server to be installed but it will only work with certain configurations and I am not sure how to configure SQL server to get it to work along with MS Dynamics GP 2010. Please help? I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version.

  • This will work with any XP version. In fact in the video I was using Media edition.

  • Awesome video. One question, will this work with XP home edition Service pack 2 or do I need the PRO edition?

  • thank you! it was very helpfull!

    Nice Video

  • nice tutorial very good and very clear..

  • remember to run on win7 sql 2008 needs at least sp1, preferably sp2. Otherwise it gives a warning and fails down the line.

  • SQL 2008 runs great on Windows 7. I have many machines doing that right now.

  • @Joes2Pros Thanks! great tutorial!

  • I plan to get the IPAD2 and run Windows 7 on it. Will SQL Server 2008 run on the IPAD2?

  • gay Music

  • Wow! Fantastic! I am so happy to finally to see how this is done each step along the way.

  • you piss me off so much.

  • Really good Job Master! Well done ! Thanks!

  • thanks :)

  • great tutorial. .thanks for sharing your knowledge. kudos!

  • Nice video.... Why did you not use mixed authentication mode when you created this video?

  • can u plz send me the video of installing sql server 2008 on windows 7 ? I have followed all ur video shown steps but i couldn't find SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO in start menu -> ALL PROGRAMS list

  • Great idea @raveendark!! This winter I plan to make a W7 install video. When that happens it will get posted to help the growing number of W7 folks. For now see if you can find the "All Programs" folder of the start menu. Look for "SQL Server 2008 Management Studio"

  • @Joes2Pros Great work dude... I really appreciate this. I was just wondering whether you have completed the Win7 install video? Thanks.... :D

  • @raveendark Apparently you need Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Express with Advanced Services not just the regular Express version in order to have the SQL Server Management Studio

  • Great! You are welcome!

  • nice tutorial

    Thank you

  • Please confirm the process for vista...thanks

  • With Vista you already have Windows Installer so you can skip to 3:30 in the video and then all the remaining steps will be the same.

  • Thank you very much for the info

  • this works with sql 2008 64bit on windows 7 as well...awsome, just what i needed..thanks man

  • Eu fiz td igual video deu certo vale por postado ae ;)

  • OK, Had a Portuguese friend translate for me..... "I did everything the way the video says and it worked. Thanks for posting. AE "

  • I do everything exactly the same, but I get the icon for Microsoft SQL management

:( and i cant no open

  • Try one of two things.

#1 Go to Services and make sure the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service is running.

#2 Vista has a bug where the local admin is not a SQL admin. At 6:45 in the video choose the "Mixed Mode" option to create a SQL SA account. Use that SA account to set the Windows users permissions after the install is done.

  • Thanx bro , this solved my problem in vista,

i dont know whether its bug or not but this solve the problem

    thnx once again

  • It's asking me for an insallation folder? Where is it?

  • Can you upload a video for Vista!!

  • Yes you can see that, there are more install videos. The rest of the videos are on the Joes2pros web site.

  • Thanks Bud appreciate the help!
