Okay! Second gripe: Comparing the T-Rex's behavior to an alligator. WTF?!
Did they not notice the complexity of the cerebral cortex? T-Rex was not stupid - those guys are stupid! There is even evidence that T-Rex hunted in family packs. Does that sound like a dumb animal to you?
@amm019 Yes, komodo dragons in captivity have been found to have remarkable intelligence for lizards, they can recognise individual keepers and can be taught to responds toe various commands. Chimps are overated - yes i agree. Its all because of that 98% genetic similarity bullshit with us, chimps are highly aggressive and savage creatures, they have wars amongts groups, and they attack female and juveniles, they also practice cannibalism.
@amm019 I think in many ways humans have more commonality with birds then we do with many mammals. Sounds crazy but think abuot, a part from humans, whales/dolphins, elephants - most mammals dont use vocal communication extensively, even our closest relatives dont, but birds use some of the most complex vocal communication in the animal kongdom, a birds song in many ways is no less complext then human speech - and birds are the only animals that can replicate human speech!
That's my only true gripe with this program - They didn't accurately simulate a Triceratops in the agility test. Plus, the weight of the T-Rex's tail is not concentrated at the tip! The Tri is more agile than Rex theory: Bullshit.
that is the glen rose trackway....over 100 million years old, probably made by paluxysaurus and acrocanthosaurus.....Acro was about 40 ft long, yet he says t.rex was AT LEAST TWICE as large.....lol wut?
About the race... If the person acting as triceratops run on four legs instead...hmm, I think it'll be different... Can a four legged dinosaur turn quickly???
People, this is the first cat scans several years ago which is a poor example and specimen. Trough much more recent clearer cat scans revealed rex to have a more advance brain that was also far more complex, more so then its more primitive adversaries such as gigan, carch and spino which barely reach half the size of rex's massive complex brain.
@sergeidebrovski 1/2 LOOK IT UP, it's everywhere. They clearly said it's a bad specimen and they only basted on prior reptilian theories. They also basted that on the shape, keep in mind croc are the most if not second smartest reptile on earth and it's the size of an acorn. If you knew the SIZE of rex brain, you'll know it's MASSIVE so it's very intelligent either way. It was also once thought it was big because rex was but bigger theropods have been found with less then half the brain size.
2/2 So with hard conclusive evidence that there were larger theropods with LESS the HALF the size of rex brain proves its enormity isn't just a coincident nor just for mobility like that of giga and carch. Also through more better recent cat scans show that rex had a large cerebral which enhances the fact rex was very intelligent and its ancestries were also more intelligent dinos(in comparison to others) that were also pack oriented.
Which means rex was an intelligent and strategic large dino.
@TopPhilosopher1 After looking it up, the smartest animal t rex has been compared to is a house cat, so its not everywhere as you said. Secondly, crocs are not the smartest reptiles by a long shot, but they may be the second smartest. Thirdly, The size of a t rex cerebrum is only the size of a humans, which is big, but bare in mind the t rexes head is the size of a humans. Fourthly size of a brain doesn't always matter, e.g. proportionally,
@sergeidebrovski "the smartest animal t rex has been compared to is a house cat" Yeah, from Dino George, reason why is because rex's high intellect is a more newer yet proven claim especially when its brain's enormity isn't just for mobility(he admits he isn't sure and just making a guess bast on opinion for that) and that was just for the time. These days, you'll find it anywhere. Rex cerebral was bigger especially compared to body size, it's nt even considered a coincident anymore.
@TopPhilosopher1 a hummingbird has a larger brain than a human, but it's obvious which is smarter. Fifthly, pack orientated dinosaurs didn't have to be smart. Early dinosaurs such as coelophysis are believed to be pack orientated. Finally saying, look it up, it's everywhere, isn't proving anything. If you want people to believe you then actually give a web adress or a name of a book.
@sergeidebrovski "a hummingbird has a larger brain than a human, but it's obvious which is smarter" Not even close and its brain is the size of an acorn if not smaller, so that's an invalid reference. Rex has been associated with pack oriented origins through its evolution for several million years with a larger brain growing through it.
I gave more then enough factual evidence to why rex is a intelligent strategic dino that's more evolved then prior. You however really gave no evidence.
Oh, and these days, people compare rex to lions due to its proven high intellect in case you haven't heard. Also more recently, even Dino George reference them to lions now that its been confirmed.
@TopPhilosopher1 PROPORTIONALLY a hummingbird has a larger brain, some hummingbirds aren't even size of a human brain, i commented twice. Any ways, about the pack orientation, i thought you meant that giga or mapu had to be smart to be in a pack. Also, as smart as lions? are you serious? With the exception of corvids, carnivorous mammals are smarter than birds, and troodon, which has been confirmed by numerous paleontologists, had the intelligence of a falcon. Also a lions intelligence is far
@sergeidebrovski But a hummingbird bird has a brain size smaller then an acorn and is a completely different species, rex has a massive brain(how are you not understanding the major flaw to that statement?). Rex has been confirmed to be very intelligent to the point where it's actions can be referenced to that of lions and are social, caring parents, developed massive brains that held large cerebrals with the fact it's the latest large theropod with a longer evolutionary development.
@TopPhilosopher1 (second part) ...greater than a house cat. Wild cats (ancestor of the domestic cat) aren't as smart as lions, and domesticated animals are dumber than their wild ancestors. Also i forgot to mention that troodon has been confirmed as the smartest dinosaur. I have given as much evidence as you have, just from a different light.
@sergeidebrovski You keep saying that because George said it when asked at a surprising time on a video on You Tube, NO ONE SAID THAT with actual research. George admits e didn't really knew. Before giga and carch, it was thought that rex massive brain was only big because it was and it was a cold blooded tail dragging lizard from 65mil yrs ago(it was though to be impossible), when rex was the largest carnivore. That's been proven false and shows rex did has a substantial amount of intellect.
Now Dino George is a brilliant paleontologist but he ADMITS he didn't really knew that especially when it was a surprising question that came so randomly. If you actually do the research you'll see that rex far exceeds that. I'm not saying rex was the smartest dino of all time, just a very intelligent theropod (which was the most intelligent of the large theropods). Rex is the ONLY large theropod that even shows any signs of being intelligent and is also very muscularly built like no other.
They did some poor experiments with the running speeds. A human has taken a dramatic change in it's mass and body shape in which he's not use to. T-Rex is born with his own body and he becomes the master of that body. Also, they physics are very different for big things, because they have more momentum.
Funny but before this documentary t-rex wasen´t one of my favourite dino´s but after this i just totally love it. I also like how the maker´s of this document didn´t take themself´s too seriously, that tells me that they are capable of been objective. But actually crocodile´s are quite inteligent rptile´s and i doub´t that gator´s fall long behind.
Yeah I actually learned from a documentary I found on Netflix that Crocs are smart enough to respond to names researchers give them t intify them. This opened a new avenue of research.

I think t rex used it tail as well to make fast turns , not exactly like the test they made in this video where the guy being the t rex had very fixed weight contribution , which probably was not accurate
i heard something about a scientist named Lawrence Witmore saying about T-Rex was smarter than previous belief. So T-Rex was a little smarter than an alligator.
I don't really like how they label T-Rex and alligators as dumb. Crocodillians have a small brain but its far more complex than with other reptiles. Throwing rocks at them isn't very scientific.
Also, T-Rex probably wasn't very smart compared to modern predators but it had a more advanced brain than any giant theropod.
Once again this Documentary is incredibly impressive kudos to the Cast and the Studio involved with the Production of this show. Awsome effort a 10/10 Perfect.
I don't get this. In Clash of the Dinosaurs, they said that T. rex had rather advanced strategy and planning ability based on its brain scans.
