good job! The only thing i have to say is at the beginning, make sure your left leg is straight when you do the kick, otherwise good job and keep it up!
Get that face up and put your body into your performance! Performing isn't just with your face, but involves your whole body. It would've been a lot better if you wouldn't have looked so boring.. Amazing tosses!! Our high school team is soon to be in our first compition and we are finalizing the work with our double swing flags! I think your solo was great, and to the one who commented about one minute solos: Our team has 3 solos, ALL of them are UNDER a minute long. Our Preformance isnt perfect, and there are parts even you couldve done a bit better, but your great!!

your dance is basic and repetitive, you allow yourself to make minute errors (lack of point, limp wrists, no turn out, etc.) that bring the mediocre performance down that much more.
certain sections of your flag piece were worth noting, the toss with the catch behind the back takes some skill is one example. most of the work was beginner work, at best. i would take some time and concentrate more on your flag skills. less dance, more flag, less repetition.
i really like this routine :) and i noticed in previous comments someone from my guard got into a disaggreement with you and i want to apologize on their behalf. i honestly think you did a great job with this :)
i was waiting forever for u to pick up the flag. u r a really good dancer but i was hoping for a little more flagwork. and i think for this song the work should have been more energetic and fierce during the chorus. just myy opinion. also i feel like as soon as you started spinning you lost your emotion. you seemed a bit too foccused on the work and not the body. hope im not being tooooo criticizing...

as a dancer and guardie, i was pretty much impressed. the guard work i LOVED, but i felt like some of it could have been a bit cleaner and more polished. the dance was a little weak. i think that she was VERY graceful, but she should have moved a bit more and not let her chest and back be so rigid. thats my two cents

that was really gud we dont do anythging like that here in ireland ....... n u can only do colour gaurd if u are in a marching band but i absalutly luv it ....... do ye have the colour gaurd clinics n that over there ???
do you weight your poles? it doesn't really look like it but my guard does and we weight them the same as DCI's Troopers guard. the poles have weights at both ends of the pole. the top weight is twice as heavy as the bottom one. Weighting them makes for very easy tossing... but it also makes solid stops a little more difficult but not bad... but over all, beautiful dance work. my guard focuses more on equipment because none of us grew up with dance classes or anything...
im in color guard and you did a good job, but just tip for the future if your hair gets meesed up or your clothes get scrunched don't fix them. last year when we were in dance camp our coach kept yelling at the freshman to stay set till we were told to shake. he said that it ruined the inage of the dance.

You are AMAZING. Im just getting interested in this type of thing, goin into 9th grade and on the guard team at my high school. Your dance moves really interpret what the song is saying and i greatly admire that. You are fantastic.
You are an excellent preformer. What you do is you surrender yourself in your preformance. Not many people posses that trait right away. Congrats, that means you're a natural :) One word of advice though: a problem with surrendering yourself in a preformance is that you're not toally aware of what certain body parts are doing. I would watch your hands during your dance sections. Most dancers keep their wrist straight, instead of going for the evil scarecrow look (for example). Hope this helps.
@xladym I think we competed against you in competition... but i can't remember. But this is amazing. Congrats on the 1 rating. I wish my best friend's solo had done that well... her partner stood there completely still and just staring at her because she forgot EVERYTHING they had written...it was awful!
That was really good. I swear the flag work was almost exactly the same as our half time show. I'd let you see my schools colorguard, but we only have 5 people in colorguard this year!

I LOVE your silk. Purple is my favorite color(and one my of school colors).
I'm new at winter guard this year. I'm also a dancer(9 years) and I would just like to give a little advise.
Pointed feet, energy through your fingers, turned out legs. In my guard, if we don't, they call us out and make us do it in front of the whole guard.
Flag work was pretty. at 1:23, I thought you were gonna do a 45. It would have been nice there. Still cool though. :)

your dance is basic and repetitive, you allow yourself to make minute errors (lack of point, limp wrists, no turn out, etc.) that bring the mediocre performance down that much more.
certain sections of your flag piece were worth noting, the toss with the catch behind the back takes some skill is one example. most of the work was beginner work, at best. i would take some time and concentrate more on your flag skills. less dance, more flag, less repetition.

i was waiting forever for u to pick up the flag. u r a really good dancer but i was hoping for a little more flagwork. and i think for this song the work should have been more energetic and fierce during the chorus. just myy opinion. also i feel like as soon as you started spinning you lost your emotion. you seemed a bit too foccused on the work and not the body. hope im not being tooooo criticizing...

as a dancer and guardie, i was pretty much impressed. the guard work i LOVED, but i felt like some of it could have been a bit cleaner and more polished. the dance was a little weak. i think that she was VERY graceful, but she should have moved a bit more and not let her chest and back be so rigid. thats my two cents

I agree with xladym cuz in guard, it's important to take advantage of the flag instead of your body. Honestly, I would have love to see more of you with the flag because your good, just forgot the flag as it was nicely put. And I'm in guard too, so yah.

@xladym uhh i do know that theres movment in color guard but you have moree movement then skills and at least in my guard we foucous more on skills and strength then dancing and we alsoo dance with our flag for more then just what 30 seconds??

it was a solo. i got straight 1's with it.
i knew how i was constructing my own piece.
if you noticed. i based everything off musicality.
i chose to use the chorus for my flag bc the tone of singing changed.
trust me. i can spin circles around your head with my flag & rifle.
but i do love to dance too.

do you weight your poles? it doesn't really look like it but my guard does and we weight them the same as DCI's Troopers guard. the poles have weights at both ends of the pole. the top weight is twice as heavy as the bottom one. Weighting them makes for very easy tossing... but it also makes solid stops a little more difficult but not bad... but over all, beautiful dance work. my guard focuses more on equipment because none of us grew up with dance classes or anything...

it's not the fact of if they look weighted or not.
it's the fact that if we make a weighted pole look effortless like it's not weighted :]
we base our weights on the silks. if the silk is heavy. then of course the weight on the silk side will be heavier than the bottom side.

im in color guard and you did a good job, but just tip for the future if your hair gets meesed up or your clothes get scrunched don't fix them. last year when we were in dance camp our coach kept yelling at the freshman to stay set till we were told to shake. he said that it ruined the inage of the dance.

this was actually at my own school. it wasn't really a competition.
my guard director wanted all the girls to come up with their own solo.
and he kinda made his own solo competition with only our guard where he brought in his guard director friends to judge.

You are AMAZING. Im just getting interested in this type of thing, goin into 9th grade and on the guard team at my high school. Your dance moves really interpret what the song is saying and i greatly admire that. You are fantastic.

You are an excellent preformer. What you do is you surrender yourself in your preformance. Not many people posses that trait right away. Congrats, that means you're a natural :) One word of advice though: a problem with surrendering yourself in a preformance is that you're not toally aware of what certain body parts are doing. I would watch your hands during your dance sections. Most dancers keep their wrist straight, instead of going for the evil scarecrow look (for example). Hope this helps.

I wish my best friend's solo had done that well... her partner stood there completely still and just staring at her because she forgot EVERYTHING they had written...it was awful!
