  • I remember watching this. I was 4 at the time. I guess that means the ad was effective.

  • the girl is Sidney Berry

  • Oh god...0_o.

  • what a nice sister

  • It's a shame that commercials aren't clever anymore. I don't even care about super bowl commercials anymore because they don't compare to older ones.

  • jake schmittler is my cousin NO LIE he lives in mighigan with his mom

  • this was my FAVORITE commercial when i was little! thanks for posting this :)

  • lol that little girl is my friends sister

  • I like how this seems to happen often. I wonder how they found out he had this ability? I'm picturing his parents accidentally vacuuming him up when he was a baby. They could also save money on this, they would never have to buy him a plane ticket because they could just have him as hand luggage.

  • It has to happen often, so instead of just being horrified that it happened, you're horrified that he keeps on doing it to himself just to get one more drop of Pepsi.

  • @BagOfMagicFood What exactly do they do to get him out? You might be able to break the bottle but that might be hazardous, so maybe they have to take him to the doctor or something? Either way, I'm sure as he grows up he will find plenty of useful ways to use his special skill.

  • he he he i'd keep that kid i there forever and poke ad laugh at him. i want him to scream in a tiny vocie "help me help me"

  • one of my favorites

  • by far, my most favorite commercial ever.

  • They should do a new commercial with this concept. Like a couple friends are walking along and drinking Pepsi, and one's talking, the other is just focused on finishing his Pepsi, and you know the rest.

  • @jaredofmo I've always wanted to see a remake or sequel of some kind to this commercial. The kid's about 21 now - it'd be great to see him come back and do this again! But yeah, even if it wasn't him, it would be really neat to see this commercial make a comeback or take on a new life somehow.

Though I can't say I've seen a lot of morph and CGI commercials like this one lately - commercials seem to be going for a more realistic approach with their humor these days.

  • This commercial is STILL awesome! I've been looking for it forever! Glad I found it.

  • cute baby, I'll leave the bottle, and I keep on my shelf

  • Today, My teacher Told Me that Was his Nephew!

  • Well, that's a big deal! Did you, by chance, get a full name?

  • @gyronemo This is my old friend from school his name is Jake Schmittler he lives in mt.pleasant michigan. and hes 22 now.

  • @zongsmoker Thank you very much for the information! Long-standing mystery solved! I've changed the summary and tags to reflect that. Thanks again!

  • @gyronemo Not a problem. Glad to help u out

  • @bstarlyn04 whats your teachers name

  • what effets id they use for that i want to try it

  • this commercial cracked me up when it first came out. and it still does to this day.

  • *Throw him out to Sea!"

    Message in a bottle!

  • >That little girl at the end should drink that boy down into her flabby purple stomach!

^_^ *Yummy little shrunken brother!* Mmmmph!

  • Vorarephile! :O

  • i know dat kid.. he went 2 my school

  • Really? Do you know his name? I've been curious about his additional commercial work.

  • @gyronemo he did a couple more commerical and a couple indie movies. his name is Jake Schmittler.

  • hes my cousin NO LIE he came over on thanksgiving

  • Holy crap, this makes my day. This takes me way back. I always wanted to be able to do this.

Then the gushers commercials came out, and I wanted to be able to do both. XD

  • OMFG

I remember when i was 4 and saw this commercial and it SCARED THE SHIT OUTTA ME

i didnt want to drink pepsi and would always RUN EVERYTIME I SAW THE BOTTLE.

    scary commercial

  • lol @ Jayme -> i bet he scored some hot girlfriend with the commercial, eh? :-P

  • Yeah, who wouldn't go with someone who could suck THAT HARD

  • I remembered this when I was a little girl... I still talk about it... hence me looking it up today... have not seen it since I was in 4th or 5th grade

  • I think the boy is super cute. ;-) I bet he's a looker now. :-D

  • This advert used to scare the hell out of me, then again, I was only about 5 years old.

  • suck for diabetes dude

  • I do not know if the magazine is still being published but I have seen the magazine that has a lengthy article and pictures of how they made the commercial. The kid had the magazine at his graduation. When we asked his mom about it she said he was not big on letting people know about it. He used to live in Southern California and did a couple commercials when he was young. I do not know where to find archives but I will have him comment on this if he wants to do so.

  • That'd be great if you could get him to stop by and say a few words. I've always wondered exactly who he was and the details of making this commercial. But if he chooses not to comment, that's understandable. At the very least, it'd be nice to get a scan of the magazine article. Thanks for the lead either way!

  • Did you hear that Pepsi hired Michael Jackson back to do commercials for them? Yeah, he's the only one who can suck the little boy out of the bottle!

  • She should have just thrown the bottle in the water.

  • i remember that! i was really little

  • By he I mean the boy!

  • I've been wondering that for years, proudhawkeyefan. The question's even in my summary for the video. But I haven't gotten any answers. All I know about him is that (supposedly) he is now 18 and has a brother who did commercials before him. He himself did some other commercials around the same time as this one, but I don't know what they were.

  • does anyone know who he is?

  • yes, look in People Magazine for Kids around the time the add came out. The is an article on how the commercial was made and who he is. He graduated with one of my boys from high school and he is now 21

  • Hmm... as far as I found, there was no "People Magazine for Kids". Was it something else? Like the actual People Magazine or Highlights or somethin'?

  • lol

  • haha I remember this commercial

  • i remember when this first came out! i always wanted to sniff those little feet, and thought that kid was so lucky to have had his own feet in face in on t.v.

  • Sorry to break it to ya buddy but that was actually his little sisters cute little feet! I seen the making of that part!

  • Where did you see the making of this? I'd definitely be interested in watchin that!

  • I seen it on some old footage on entertainment tonight, I wish I had it!

  • *Sigh.* I actually remember when I saw a preview for that, but I didn't get to watch that specific E. T. I doubt it'll ever be posted. Oh well! Remember anything else that was in the clip about the commercial?

  • I'm still wondering when someone will upload that part of "Signal to Noise" where they explain the commercial and show the storyboard and everything. So far I've only found one small preview of that.

  • More like severely annoyed.

  • This is my favorite Pepsi commercial! Thanks for putting it up. :)

  • I just noticed the boy in the bottle has two left feet!

  • How do you see that? In the final scene where he's in the bottle, his left foot is the one below his chin, and his right foot is the one against his cheek (that's his little toe wiggling, not his big toe).

  • Ah hah, I see it now. My mistake!

  • I know it sounds silly, but what if instead of getting sucked into the bottel he turnd into a pepsi instead just like violet when she ate willy wonka's gum and turned into a blueberry!

  • I don't remember exactly, but I think there was a Tom and Jerry cartoon where Tom drank too much soda and he took the shape of a soda bottle.

  • Actually it was Tom being thrown into a soda machine and the machine burping out Tom as a bottle

  • What do they use in these kinds of commercials? I'd like to see a makeing on these things, they fascanate me!

  • Don't be stupid, Beavis, they just find a real little boy who can actually suck himself into a bottle and film him

  • I'm not stupid, please keep rude comments to yourself!!

  • If only there was a boy out there who could do that!

  • I remember this commercial from many years ago. I also remember reading that the feet seen in the bottle actually belong to the same girl who picks up the bottle.

  • According to some stuff I've read, they used some very (at the time) cutting-edge CGI for this commercial. I believe the program they used was called "Flame".

  • I've read a claim that it was actually done in MovieFLO.

  • Really? Where did you read that? That's one thing about this commercial I don't believe I've ever heard.

  • what about the boy

  • spot on mate. great name.I haven't cpoy righted it, so go for it mate. Cheers.

  • welcome to another diabetes mega usa soft drink

  • Diabetes Mega USA Soft Drink would make a great band name....

    DON'T YOU THINK???????????????????

  • oh haha how could you tell?

  • I read it in Zillions magazine

  • you know the wiggling toes actually belong to the boys "sister"?

  • Yes, it seems everyone does! Shame, don't know why they couldn't just use his feet.

  • maybe it would be too painful to pose like that

  • lol hows it hot

  • Thats sorta hot, in a weird way.

  • what a classic.
