If the car would catch on fire from hitting the ground, the C4 would only burn slowly, and release poisonous fumes. However, if you used tannerite, it would explode upon impact.

I would have to agree with @redsxfenway on this one, The earth's gravity pulls any object towards it at a rate of 9.8 m/s so to get up to 26.82 m/s (60mph) so it should take about 2.73 seconds not .4

I would be much more excited if the government tried creating job opportunities for middle and low income parts of the population, through infrastructure updates, public works, etc. Although I'm sure the sky diving professionals appreciated the extra work.

The government already creates many job opportunities for those parts of the population through help like this. Are you really excited about infrastructure updates like LED traffic lights, GPS public buses, and pothole repair? I think a "flying car" commercial looks much more exciting.

This is so stupid! It has nothing to do with Chevy or the car model. I understand that they wanted a cool commercial that would go viral, but this ad could have been done with pretty much any product. Just replace Chevy with: Maytag, Sony, Frigidaire, Ikea, etc. And the car with: a washing machine, a LCD TV, a refrigerator, a bed, or literally any big heavy object and BOOM! Instant commercial.

Maybe if they put this much time, effort, and money into the actual car they wouldn't lose to Toyota.

@TheBebop51 Except that it would be boring to see appliances skydiving. This is interesting in part because of the fact that a lot of engineering goes into the vehicle as well as the stunt. If it were to fail, it would be much more dramatic then a smashed washing machine would ever be.
