my dad has an electron microscope in his lab and we take samples of various microscopic samples and view them...you dont even want to know what is left on you after swimming in a lake/river/pond...especially if you sit near the waters edge. And this stuff gets in every open orifice.

The ant holding the micro chip at 1:00 is a very old pic.

A dead ant was set up and the chip was placed in it jaws, then it was coated in a thin layer of gold, and photographed using an electron microscope.

Im not sure how or why they gold plated it. I just remember reading it at the time.
