  • @mandygoon I have a video showing fall leaves that might help

  • Hi Edna, love your videos, you are very talented and explain things very well. i look forward to your videos in the future :) <3

  • Hi Edna! Thank you so much for this series of tutorials. You are very thorough and even though your method is so easy, the results are amazing. I have made many roses and peonies from gumpaste, but I've never made gumpaste callas before. Thanks for giving me the confidence and knowledge to make them for a wedding cake in December!

  • @MaineMW Im glad it helped!

  • hi edna,

my mom watches ur vids all the time she wud like to know "if you dont have the glue to stick the wire at the center of the flowers cud u use egg whites to do so?...

  • @darien613 Yeah, some people do

  • How long would you let the flower steam before painting, and do you paint right after the steaming?

  • @malaquia18 You steam after you paint it. This is done to set the colors

  • I just love your videos!! And this one esp!!! :) You are so talented!! I am not a big cake maker (even though i wished after watching your videos :) ),but i will use this for Polymer Clay! :) Calla Lily's are my favorite flowers and i wanne make my own little bouquet now! :)

  • this is pretty.. ty for the instructions ♥

  • This Video was awesome, Thanks so much for sharing your techniques, I have a Cala Lillie wedding cake to do next weekend, and I'm excited to get started on them, now that I have learned your much easier way to do them, than my previous way. Again Thanks so much!

  • @kellyscakes222 You welcome!

  • You can eat this, right??

  • where do you get your brushes from?

  • @sarahjcheek1 Craft Stores

  • Edna can you show how to color more flowers and how to use the different kinds of dusts? Thank you Tina

  • @1960tv I have DVD's with how each flower is dusted. They are in my website.

  • You are truly blessed with such a wonderful craft. Thanks for sharing :)

  • @inez123able Thanks!!

  • Edna, Ive looked at hundreds of tutorial videos on youtube but yours are THE best! I really enjoy the way you explain the small details. You dont rush through things and I have really learned so much from your videos. Thank you for taking the time to show us amateurs your fabulous techniques!! I am a fan! =)

  • @DramaFreeInNYC Thanks!

  • Hi Edna, I just LOVE your tutorials! I am a 'play' decorater and find your videos just fantastic.. thank you for sharing your knowledge so freely...

  • that was so amazing...i was enjoyed watching you making calla lilies...is mf passionate is making cake deco..

  • hello...i was wandering...can i add gum-tex straight from the jar to my marshmallow fondant to make gumpaste? if yes..what is the ratio for it?thanks!!

  • @flyaiselatus Is not of my preference to do that. I dont like gum tex very much. I have tried it with fondant, but is just not a texture I like :(

  • Once again... you are a life saver! Thank you!!!!

  • how far ahead of time can i make these liily's? how long are they good for?

    lov you work!

  • @mmmdenha Months ahead. As long as you let them dry properly in an open space for at least a week, you can store them in a dry box for months.

  • Beautiful! For school I have to do a two tiered cake rolled in fondant and have to make gumpaste flowers. I may just do those. Great job! Any other recommendations for flowers?

  • @MuNeQuiTaBrAviTa Stargazer is an easy one too.

  • eso es un alcatraz no una lili

  • @avic87 In english is called a Calla lily

  • @tonedna1 hooooooooooooooooo thanks :)

  • Great detail on all the parts of this flower series. I am just starting out and this flower is part of my next class - this really gives me a better idea of what I am doing. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • I really like your videos . thank edna very much

  • wow edna!

i have watched you vidios and im going to make them a bit smaller for my cooking class at school!

    i cant wait!!

    thank you so much

    Laura, england

  • Hello Edna. Is it possible to mix vodka and petal dust or luster dust when painting the flowers? Or would the steam method help seal the dusts? I'm making a teal and plum cake which are very deep shades and I'm afraid the cake will catch the dusts when I attach the flowers. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • @thesorianos Usually after you steam the flowers it seals the color.

  • who knew something so beautiful could be so simple to make!

  • i love this tutorial, your calla lilly's are beautiful but i think your stargazer lilly's are divine..how do you go about ordering the DVD tutorial for those, ive tried to email an order ( as i live in the UK ) a few months ago but i dont think it worked..id love to be able to make them for my wedding cake

  • @rivergod151 This never showes up on my thread. Im sorry. If you want to order the DVD you can go to my website to the store part and you can added to the cart. If you add more things in the cart the price of shipping might change and I might have to invoice the rest.

  • edna your flowers are so beautiful and you do such a great job of explaining how to do it!

you make it look so easy :)

  • Thanks so much!

    Edna :)

  • Thank you so much Edna. I have been so excited after watching your videos. You are such an excellent teacher, my lillies looked as pretty as yours. Thanks again

  • Im glad you enjoyed!..

  • hola Edna:

  • Hi Edna! Your video is so helpful. How do you store the calla lily once it is finished?

  • let it dry in an open space for a week, then when they are fully dry you can store them in an airtight container..

    Edna :)

  • hi, I was wondering if I don't have a steamer what can I use, or is the steamer a must?

  • Is not a must. But you can use steam coming out of a boiling pot or a tea kettle.

    Edna :)

  • Thank you so much Edna for taking the time to do those videos, your work is absolutely amazing! I have never seen any of your work until now and I am totally blown away. My cake partner and I have a wedding cake to make for 7/25/09 and the bride is carrying callas in her bouquet and now after viewing your videos, we will be able to create beautiful callas for her cake. Again thank you! Dorie

  • Thank you Edna:)

  • That is a lot of color. I think I have only ever focused on white ones. I love them. Would you ever put anything on white ones? What color are you asked to make most often?

    Thanks,

    Katie

  • White ones are asked often. You can dust the inside with some yellow and the base with moss green.

    Edna :)

  • awesome flowers! how long would you steam the flowers?

  • Just a few seconds, you dont want them to get too wet..

  • omg that flower is beauty!! i cant wait to make one. I just finished all my Wilton classes i took at Micheals and hope to start cake decorating professional, and start a small home business! i love your videos they are very helpful since i kind of know what im doing already!!

  • I was referring to ordinary powdered color :oD. Also, what happens if you skip the steaming part? Thanks in advance :oD

  • You can use non-toxic chalks if you grind them. And nothing happens if you dont do the steaming. It still will work, the steaming just settles the color and make them a bit deeper.

    Edna :)

  • Hi Edna, I was just wondering, can you use powdered color in place of petal or luster dust? Thank you for this fantastic tutorial. :oD

  • you are extremely talented...not only at cake decorating, but teaching as well.. you should start your own DVD if you dont have one already

  • Thanks. I am working on one for Stargazer Lillies

    Edna :)

  • Wonderful tutorial!

I am just beginning to decorate cakes & am looking forward to trying this.

Thank you so much for sharing!

  • Glad you liked!

  • My future daughter in law loves this flower and I am delighted to find a way to make it! Thank you for your videos, I look forward to viewing more of them.

  • VERY GOOD EXCELLENT

  • Can you eat the flower?

  • Is edible, but is not something I would eat myself.

    Edna :)

  • hola me gustan mucho tus videos quisiera saber si hablas español para que me informes donde puedo comprar las regras de letras y para hacer los bordes como el collar de perlas gracias por contestar mi correo la direccion si es de miami mejor gracias

  • Thank you Edna! My husband and I are just starting to do a lot of cakes and really appreciate your easy, step-by-step instructions. You're awesome!

  • Edna, when you specify that you are going to use your luster dusts dry, does that mean you would also in some cases use them wet? Could you possibly show us how to do this and when it might be appropriate or preferred?

  • Thats a good idea..Right now I am trying to finish a cake for a competition in february 17. I will see if i can do it after this or if I finish earlier

    Edna :)

  • Hi Edna your art work is amazing. Can you please tell me how do you steam your flowers?

    Thanks

  • You can use a kettle and use the steam that comes out of it!

    Edna :)

  • Edna where do you got your gumpaste veiners and cutters? If you were to recommend a teaching video whos would you suggest buying? You have taught me a lot but need to learn more flowers. You are awesome to watch.

    Thanks,

    dinieby

  • " That was pretty cool...one thing can I skip the coloring process, I don't think I can handle it..lol"

  • Thanks for sharing your expertise - I find your videos clear, informative and above all inspirational.

  • Thank you so much for taking the time out of your free time to give a step by step easy to follow tutorial for novice cake decorators. Until I watched your videos Gumpaste Calla's and Roses never worked for me. Now it seems they are so easy that it almost seems silly that I had a hard time doing them. Your cakes are gorgeous, and you are a very talented woman! Thank you again for taking the time to teach others your wonderful talent! You are beautiful and a truly wonderful teacher!

  • I am glad that you find it easier now..that was my whole idea when I did the videos, to make it easier for people to do them..

    Ednam :)

  • that is an amazing technique i have a few question #1 can you use gel colors instead of powder. #2how long do they last, can you make them weeks or months ahead.when you dry them overnight can you store them in the refridgerator thanks you have rekindle my interest for decorating im not a decorator but im very interested in learning and mastering it

  • You can use an airbrush but the gels dont work as well. You can make them months ahead and store them in a dry box In a dry place. Do not place them in the fridge. Moisture is not good

    Edna :)

  • WOW!!! This is great. You are a good teacher. I can't wait to try these methods, you make it look so easy! Thanks
