@mojorisen74 I think letter carriers would be better off carrying expandable batons (billy clubs) instead of satchels. Have you seen my other dog videos? Why do police carry billy clubs? Why don't we? If it's against the law, then the law should be changed. I'm afraid there is going to be another preventable fatal dog attack.

@dryMAILman I know quite a few carriers that have various instruments(Axe Handles, miniature baseball bats, even pen knives to stab the dogs when attacked) Not sure if they'd have a job if they used them, but they'd probably have their life!

So you telling me that that paper dog attacked you and you had no choice but to spray it??? In a real situations, most dogs are gonna be on you before you are even aware they are there. If you are even a letter carrier you must have a mounted route.

Update: Dog Dazer 2 may not totally eliminate lunging, BUT, and this is a big 'BUT', it has worked 100% of the time for me when the attack dog has gotten loose and charged me in the street. (10 for 10) 100% effective. It has been fantastic in this critical situation!

You can call the maker of Halt 800-241-5064 and they will send it to you UPS. You can also call the Bicycle Stores in your area and they usually have it. Make sure you test spray it every 6 months to make sure it works.

I work for UPS and I sometimes carry a dog ultrasound device on my belt or shirt pocket (Dog Dazer Model 2) which works on most dogs. I use a dog spray for backup which I have clipped on the front portion of my belt.

Dog Dazer Model 2 works great for me about 60% of the time. I'm not a big fan of attack dogs on chains lunging at me, so this thing is great.

@LionessCub1 I have never sprayed a dog on a chain. When they get loose, and they always get loose, I use Dog Dazer II to stop the charging dog. This has worked every time so far. If in the future Dog Dazer II doesn't work, THEN I will spray them. If that doesn't work, THEN I might have to club them. You and your dog should watch all my videos again and report back to me. :) Thanks for the feedback.
