  • Freedom is my anti-God.

  • @yinzjagoffs Not unless you deny and PERSECUTE that do.

  • Freedom is my anti-gov!

  • Thanks for slamming "democracy"! Democracy sucks and works against freedom and liberty. Democracy is close kin to socialism and communism. I hate when "democracy" is spoken of as if were something good... It is not! Democracy is evil. Let freedom ring!!... To hell with democracy!!!

  • @ikiwago We have a constitutional democracy. Even if 100% of people voted we have unalienable Rights, that cannot change without discarding the constitution, therefore a different government entirely. We have the greatest form of government in the world. Tell me o though wiser then our founding forefathers concerted minds and declarations, which form of government shall we run the most influential country in the world with?

  • @ikiwago, America is not "democratic". Democracy is where the majority rules, and the minority have no voice. America is based on individualism and individual rights. In America, the rights of the minority are protected from the druthers and prejudices of the majority. That's the opposite of democracy.

  • If a person is given ALL THE FREEDOM, who has told you that he won't start doing harmful things to himself???

  • @GoldeWC You must not have seen the related video "Philosophy of Freedom" the animated one.

It explains the concept - that freedom doesn't allow you to take from others, be it Property, Life, or otherwise.

There is a great difference between Freedom/Liberty and Anarchy. (and nearly everyone who claims to want Anarchy is missing the distinction and actually asking for Liberty instead)

  • The problem is that some people can be real arse holes. The solution is to have someone enforce some rules. The problem is when all sorts of 'nice to have' ideologies become law in an attempt to make people behave better. Those enforcing the law end up on a power trip where they think they are better than everyone else.

  • ""We must reassert that America is a republic, not a democracy, and remind ourselves that the Constitution places limits on government that no majority can overrule. "

Really? that is news to me. Re: procedures for Constitutional Amendments (provided for in ...wait for it.. wait for it... The Constitution)

  • @Decentralism Actually no, the procedures for amendments requires not a mere majority but specific ones. Until those rules are applied and an amendment is passed to allow a mere majority to do so the USA is still a republic. While there is a potential to have such a constitutional amendment, there is no such amendment passed as law yet, thus your premise is false.

  • @chukthunder "that no majority can overrule." Yet, as you clearly stated there are SPECIFIC majorities that can overrule. I said nothing false. I did not say that the form of Government generally accepted as legitimate by the relevant population in the geographical region currently referred to as the United States was a Democracy. :)

  • @Decentralism You wrote '"that no majority can overrule." and I pointed out that there do exist rules allowing for a majority to overrule, thus your premise is false and you're wrong. A 2/3 vote for both the House and the Senate, agreement between 3/4 of all the state's governments or a 3/4 Constitutional Conventions vote are multiple majorities than can amend the constitution. Not only are you wrong but also way off base. There are more than one and not none as you stipulate.

  • @chukthunder :) I think we are misunderstanding one another. If you look back to my very first comment (the one from 3 months ago) you will see that I quoted the video using quotation marks and then below the content I quoted, I responded. My position was that the Constitution could be amended by a majority...although I didn't specify the type of majority. :)

  • "freedom is our god given right" - very funny.

the bible says just the opposite, in short:

    1) obey

    2) else

  • @saundrasmith72 My wife says the same thing.

  • @saundrasmith72 Actually you are wrong, you need to reread the bible. The whole reason Jesus HAD to return to die for our sins was because we are free, we are allowed to make our own choices. You don't HAVE to obey, there is no "else", you are free to do whatever you want. However, you must take the consequences with your choices be it good or bad.

  • I was allmost going to be too lazy to comment but this hidden error has to be pointed out...i don't even know where to begin... So having less state is not 'statist'. If gov. is coersion (evil), less gov. becomes good? Governments inherently grow, magic words on magic paper will not keep evil people from using violence...So lets not give them all the guns (and legality).

To conclude: don't accuse others of what you are...you mean well but are in error.

    Use you principles!

  • What an amazing thing to see! Young people of every race, creed, beliefs, coming together and seeing through the BS rhetoric of government salvation. Maybe this generation will stand where we Gen Xers failed,

  • Great video! We will put it on our site and pass it on.

  • not an anarkist, but i agree.

as long as big brother is in charge, freedom is going to be limited

  • I love it.

  • Ok, not to take away from this message (but I believe it's too late, look at all the idiots that voted for Obama). I mean, when I think American couldn't elect a President worse then G W Bush they elect Obama.

America is getting what it deserves, sadly more people care about electing the next American Idol then the next President.

We are in very dangerous times, the gov is putting 20k troops in AMERICA to "protect" us.

    WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberty and wealth are in jeopardy. Let it not be said that we did nothing." ~RON PAUL

  • As with most message delivered by special interests, they leave out the what is 95% of true freedom: the unalienable right to keep the fruits of your labor. That is conveniently forgotten by everyone looking to benefit by some form of government sponsored legal plunder.

  • FAKES AND LIARS!

Check out the BureauCrash youtube channel -BureauCrash is funded by The Competitive Enterprise Institute.

The most generous sponsors" of CEI's 2005 annual dinner were the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, Exxon Mobil, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, and Pfizer. Other contributors included General Motors, the American Petroleum Institute, the American Plastics Council, the Chlorine Chemistry Council and Arch Coal.

  • A bit overly sound-bite oriented and looks like a corporate commercial you'd see on network TV, except for the message! The message is beautiful, and something you're very UNlikely to see on network TV! Go Bureaucrash!

  • People talk about freedom, they seem to know what it is, but NOT how to preserve and defend it. Talk with no real action is a pathetic Liberal trait.

How many of you "freedom lovers" have read AND understood the US Constitution? Because if more Americans would, The Gov wouldn't be what it is today - a cesspool of greed and corruption. The Gov was not created to provide the America dream, it was created to preserve and defend so Americans can freely WORK for it.

    Power To The Sheeple!

  • @KendisKustomsDotCom We were warned ahead of time that people would misinterpret the Constitution.

  • You should put anti-drug in the key words somewhere so that this video comes up alongside all those bullshit propaganda videos.

  • USA = Crown Corporation

    watch?v=VpESn0mxSdk

  • oh wow that black chick is so verry hot i just love her smile and sexy hairdo

  • Can't help but see the generic description of what freedom is here; very general and non-commital. Usual rhetoric, to be honest. I wonder how few people love freedom enough to leave government completely OUT of health insurance, wages, retirement, drug control...? Folks, too many of you are "dating/seeing" freedom; you can't; you have to MARRY it, for better or worse. If you say you love freedom, but demand government control over aforementioned issues, you're a LIAR

  • YAh god damn hippies! the goverment never lies! theres no such thing as there being no freedom bush is the best president ever I HATE the towlie Ban XD ,cool video 5 stars

  • If you like this video, you'll probably like FreeStateProject*org

  • theyre scared to say anti govornment

  • Great vid. Capitalism only fails when the State becomes involved. The State can only restrict freedom. Monopolies exist only when the State supports them. Socialism is for sheep, let the farmer take you to the vet. Socialism is still the few retaining power over the many. Freedom is the only MORAL solution. Socialism is theft as sure as Fascism.

  • Libertarianism is like Communism: looks great on paper. Foolishly assuming government is the only threat to Liberty is absurd (evident when Libertarians say Feds shouldn't regulate business). The problem is that the private sector is predatory, and Libertarians encourage predatory behavior by propagting a free market system that crushes both positive and negative liberty. Don't fall for Libertarian propaganda. The Libertarian philosophy is rooted in hatred.

  • Libertarianism isn't for everyone. Some prefer to trade their freedom for being watched over. Others prefer to watch out for themselves. Businesses are like governments: they can't exist without the support of their customers. The Libertarian philosophy is rooted in self-ownership: I am entitled to my own life, liberty, and property.

  • I am so impressed with and am very much in awe of this younger generation! I thought schools would brainwash the very concept of freedom from all thought. How wonderful to know they failed!

  • Nice! Always good to see the State's concepts used against them...

  • Hahaha. Great parody. I really like this.

  • Freedom is my anti-gov. Liberty is my mother's milk.

    Dr. Ron Paul in 2008!

  • Put this on teevee and watch the kiddies' heads explode.

  • SEXY

  • Big government versus small government, in terms of the competing mentalities of "I need someone to do this for me" versus "I will do this myself" is never a fallacy, and never will be.

  • Whoo - it is absolutely not a fallacy.

Even after the 90's reforms, Welfare is still a system that allows people to rely on government, rather than on themselves, to solve their problems.

If government expands, taxes are not the same. They have been taken from other sources within the budget, and instead of going to grow the gov't, they can be returned to the people.

  • You have to put "limited gov't" in context. An expanded welfare state does not necessarily take away freedom. Yes, gov't expands, but if taxes can stay the same, and gov't could spend more without increasing the deficit, who is hurt? If the welfare state we made efficient to help the poor, it would be fine. Get off this idiotic notion of "big gov't" vs small gov't. It's a fallacy.

  • Freedom! But not at the expense of the mechanism that provides us with our freedom.

  • Find Freedom with the Free State Project

  • COOL VIDEO

  • NEXT ELECTION VOTE INDEPENDENT!

enough of this Red vs. Blue political crap, we are a country of one, shnouldnt have to choose sides

  • Great video! Now I have a new saying to spread around my university campus...

  • Capitalism feeds while communism and socialism kill. Understand only freedom can bring the best lives for the most people. Don't be fooled by Bush, Hillary.... Cartels cannot form. If you care about friends, relatives, and neighbors you'd give them freedom.

  • Shanklin - If you care about friends, relatives, and neighbors, give them what they want. Freedom is not what everyone wants, and even if it turns out to be best for everyone, how do you differ from a facist when you force it on people? Freedom demands the option of slavery (so to speak.)

  • What a warped way of viewing the world. Political freedom is simply lack of coercion. If someone wants to remain a slave, by all means, they can. They just have to do it voluntarily and they can't take me with them.

  • Competitive Markets are the closest thing we have to heaven on earth! The Democrats and Republicans hurt this system of freedom. The collectivist groups will only cause more poverty. Look at African and Mexican government controls killing their own people. Everyday the private sector builds more and more people out of poverty. People do not have to be controlled. Control your future and you control everything. Dead Weight Social Loss will not help poverty or the environment.

  • shanklinmikeIt is the balance of power in the system that gives fredom not the system when there is an imbalance of power freedom is lost when there is disconect between ones in power and the people democracy stops working for the people It is greed that causes poverty using corupt governments to say socialism dosn't work is bullshit they don't work because they were corupted not because they were socialist

  • And where does the "balance of power" come from? Give everyone the same freedom, and then it will be perfectly balanced. What other method would you suggest -- giving the government the power to pass laws that "equalize" the power? Then you've given the government more power over other individuals, meaning that it has an imbalance of power. Isn't that counter-productive?

  • Likewise, anytime you grant power to a few over many, you will have corruption. Socialism always requires a powerful governing body that has power over others' liberty, and that is why socialist governments are always corrupt. The same goes for Fascism, Monarchy, or Theocracy.

  • Free-market doesn't just mean repealing minimum wage laws or no longer requiring businesses to have certain employee benefits. It also means no more government bail-outs of big businesses that can't compete, and no more tariffs on foreign goods that force consumers to pay more for products and protects businesses that aren't efficient from competition. Free-market isn't pro-"Big Business," its pro-competition.

  • Hankthehobo Socialist countries are some of the freest places to live Denmark and Norway are governed by socialist governments they ranked in the top three democracies in the world while the US came in at seventeenth. Socialism is about taking care of all the people not just the ones who are lucky enough to have the means to pay for the services at the time of need

  • Sure, they're the "freest" right now; unfortunately, these countries have social-safety nets that are unsustainable. Consider the impending crisis with US social security -- there won't be enough to provide the needed benefits to everyone in a few generations (short of a massive increase in the amount paid in by current workers). Imagine the same crisis in almost every other social service provided by the government, and you have an idea of what European "soft" socialists are experiencing.

  • Also consider that several ex-soviet countries in central Europe which are embracing free-markets and slowly but surely seeing improvements in economy, living standards, and democratization. They may not be among the "freest" countries yet, but they are in transition upwards, while European socialists are facing major dilemmas.

  • Hankthehobo: meanwhile in the free-market capital of the world the US living standards and democracy are declining must be the free-market system causing the breakdown. Just remember it is the balance of the power in the system that allows freedom not the system

  • You're kidding right? The US is not the free-market capital of the world -- far from it. We have minimum wage-laws, pro-union laws, protectionist tariffs for our agriculture and other industries, heavy corporate taxation, and heavy corporate regulation. Hong Kong, Switzerland, and many of the former soviet countries are all better examples of free markets -- and all are experiencing significant economic growth and rising or sustained high living standards.

  • And its hypocritical of you to say that the failure is due to capitalism failing. In an earlier post you specifically said that socialist governments have failed because they were corrupted, not because socialism doesn't work. So when socialist governments repeatedly fail in catastrophic and genocidal ways, its due to corruption. When capitalism allegedly "fails," its due to an innate flaw in the theory and should be discarded. Hmmm...thats not biased thinking at all.

  • Not to mention that when socialism fails, it has resulted in millions upon millions dead and even more destitute. The failure of capitalism that you allege has resulted in "lower living standards." And I agree that balance of power is more important than the "system," which is exactly why I want less government, i.e. less of "the system."

  • hank lower living standards is just the start  the failure is starting with millions dead when you have governments that are Isolated from it's people you will have atrocities done in the name of the greater good { ie.money & power}

  • Exactly in what areas are the US living standards lowering? I want specific indicators here -- infant mortality, literacy, what? I'm not aware of any wide-spread decline, so I'd be interested to see some facts.

  • hank check out whats been happening to th average wage and the buying power of the middle class since 2000

  • First of all, "average wage" and "buying power" aren't living standards. Second, I haven't heard the average wage has been decreasing, where does this info come from? Decrease in buying power comes from inflation, which is mainly caused by the Federal Reserve System "printing" money and adding into the economy, mostly to pay for government programs that are otherwise not met by tax revenues.

  • In other words, decrease in buying power, also known as "inflation tax," is a result of government interference in the economy, not free markets. Free markets encourage economic growth, which means more jobs, more competition, and in general, higher wages. Inflationary tax is caused by well-meaning government agencies interfering with the economy, and more often than not making it worse.

  • so you see my point

  • You seem to have no problem ignoring the hundreds of millions that died as a direct result of the socialist "improvement" in the former Soviet Union, Laos, China, Vietnam, Cuba, Korea, and various South American and African countries. Even the European soft-socialist countries you so valorize embrace free-market economics to limited extents, restricting their government control mostly to "social services."

  • millions died because of greed and power not because of socialism. Once in power people began to corrupt the system to ensure their continued control just like what bush co. are trying to do today the restricting governments to mostly social services is the proper place for them the governments should be protecting the people not corporations

  • Right, they died because of greed and power. But what allowed the greedy and powerful to kill so many? It was their large amount of control over others' affairs. The problem with powerful governments is that they only function well if those in power are honest. In a limited government with free market, those in power need to be honest, but if they are corrupt they have much, MUCH less ability to harm others.

  • I agree, the government's job is to protect the citizens, not "corporations," which is why I argue for free market and not protectionism or corparatism, both of which we have now. Free markets force bigger companies to have to compete with unlimited competitors, and tends to discourage the creation of extremely large and overy powerful corporations like we have now. Its hard to have a massive international economic empire when the government isn't protecting you from competition.

  • hank

it sounds like you have a nice glossy view of the free market system and the honesty and morality of the corporate elite you got to realize that there is a balance point where everyone can have a reasonable hope of having a decent life and for 90% of the people of this world having a decent life and the hope of a better one for their children is all they want

  • Sure, and hell, why limit this government-mandated equality to economics? Lets slap weights on thin people, force feed fatty foods to healthy people, and lobotomize intelligent people? Then all the fat, sickly, and stupid people will finally be equal to everyone else! Of course, why didn't I realize this before!

  • why must you put everything to the extreme your example is idiotic at best a little common sense would help to balance your thinking to allow for something other than the extreme I am not saying too make everyone equal I'm saying to give everyone a minimum to start from and the rest is up to them

  • And for someone so concerned over government corruption, powerful elites, and "balance of power," it seems strange that you would advocate socialism, which by its very nature requires a strong, centralized government that can enact and enforce its programs of "equal distribution." So giving a few select people near complete control over the affairs of the masses stops this how?

  • hank I'm not advocating socialism I'm advocating a a kind of melding of the two to allow everyone too reach that bottom rung of the economic ladder what they do after that will be up to them and their ambition

  • You can't re-distribute wealth without using force, which requires a powerful centralized government. People don't just voluntarily give away large portions of their wealth for free.

  • hank "people don't just voluntarily give away large portions of their wealth for free" ensuring people are paid a reasonable wage for their labour is not giving away it is the end of the robbing of the poor the poor just need a way of keeping their fair share of earnings and end their beinng exploited If the wealth is stolen is it realy their's in the first place?

  • Actually, minimum wage hurts the poor, and particularly the unskilled. If your services aren't worth $5 an hour (or soon to be $10), then the employer simply won't hire you. You can't legislate an employee's value; if an unskilled worker that dropped out of high school is only worth $3 an hour to you, then you won't hire him. So is it better to have a low-paying job, or no job at all?

  • If you want to help the poor, unskilled, and uneducated, donate money and time to private charities or social organizations devoted to educating and providing marketable job skills to the needy. But passing laws that are economically unsound and which only hurt the supposed beneficiaries is counteractive. There is no reason social progress need be done through the government.

  • Furthermore, hefty taxes that are required to fund "Universal Health Care," social security, unemployment, wellfare, and any other government program that purports to "help" the needy DO require redistribution of the wealth. And as I said, people don't give away their hard-earned money for free. So you have to use force or the threat of force to collect the taxes, and you have to form Big Brother-like organizatios to monitor who is or isn't paying enough (IRS). Hence, "Big Government."

  • I rather they got to keep what they earn rather than replace what the "bizinessmen" have stolen in the first place

  • I agree, they should keep what they earn, which is why I oppose higher taxes. As soon as you find a way to pay for government social "fairness" programs WITHOUT taking what people have earned, come and tell me about it.

  • And explain to me how "bizinessmen" have stolen from employees? I work for my boss, she gives me a paycheck for a pre-agreed wage. At what point was I robbed? Those evil "bizinessmen!"

  • it must be nice to live in a world bosses pay what an employee is worth rather than what they can get away with paying depending on employee's gulliablity to except what ever line for the justifacation for the wage. A higher minimum wage strenghens the whole local economy

  • Its quite nice, actually.

  • hank a strong government dosn't mean big government I too believe in a smaller government just one centered on the rights and wellbeing of its people it is the complication of processes that inflate government like the adding of new agencies instead off fixing exsisting systems like creating homeland security when there is already the military the FBI and CIA

  • I disagree completely. A strong government is a big government. A government's strength comes only from its ability to enforce its laws and programs. Therefore, the more legislation and social programs it enacts, the more policing it must do to monitor its population and guarantee they are following laws, and to punish those that don't.

  • A government's strength comes from its suport not its size for the most part bigger the government is the less effective they usaully are fairness dosn't need a whole miriade of laws to work but lawyers do

  • Again, I agree, fairness DOESN'T need a miriad of laws. Which is why its so suspiscious that there are so many laws passed in the name of "fairness" -- minimum wage, affirmitave action quotas, disabilities act, etc.etc.etc.

  • I like it Brandon. I think you'll like where I'm going with YouTube... We must find and shout the voice of We The People... What is happening today is NOT consistent with the words of the Founding Fathers!

  • Real freedom will come when the workers of the world have free access to the wealth they create.Abolish the wages system.

  • great simple ad.

  • Freedom is the ability to raise your hands and praise God.

Not just your god, ANY god. Any religion. Any Faith.

Freedom is living your life how YOU see fit. As long as you arent harming others, you're all right by me. This video came across with a little bit too much 'bible bashing' atmosphere... but i like it

  • "This video came across with a little bit too much 'bible bashing' atmosphere"

    Are you being serious?

  • As a potsmoker, the state wants me dead. Government sure is great!!!

  • Source: Wikipedia.

"At present, YouTube is one of the fastest-growing websites on the World Wide Web [7], and is ranked as the 11th most popular website on Alexa, far outpacing even MySpace's growth. The site has almost 20 million visitors each month, according to Nielsen/NetRatings."

If I wanted a place that offered the opinions of millions using free speech at the fullest, this would be a good place to start.

  • Just reading many of the replies on Youtube is proof enough for me that complete Libertarianism is not an achievable goal in the near future.

  • yeah, cause youtube is a great research tool

  • Most people don't like themselves enough to function in a libertarian society.

  • Most of the people aren't responsible person and consider the government as their babysitter, that's why libertarians are a minority.

  • The government only applies restrictions on certain freedoms so that other people won't kill you, maim you, rob you, rape you, etc.

No matter who's in power and no matter what party they came from, you should thank the government.

  • Right, because the govt never declares unjust wars, or imprisons people for invented 'crimes' like drug use, they're just here to serve us. But if I don't pay my taxes, my ass gets thrown in jail...

  • And that should be the only purpose of the government, to protect people and property from physical harm of preemptive violence, they themselves do not have a right to preemptive violence such as arresting someone for a victimless crime (like drugs)

  • Wow... no... drug use is a crime with a victim and that victim is you. In this country it is illegal to hurt or kill yourself on purpose. Drugs hurt you and so they are illegal. If you don't understand that then you may want to pull your face away from your bong and look at the world around you. Drug users who aren't caught by the police end up on the streets anyway. Nothing good comes of it.

  • I know how much drugs can hurt you, and that's why I don't do them. But if other people want to kill themselves, then let them, I don't want my tax dollars used to protect stupid people from their inability to deal with reality. And don't be so closed minded as to assume just because someone is in support of legalizing drugs that they do drugs.

  • corruption is not the answer, it does matter whos in power, look at bush!!!

  • I'm not supporting Bush. He is a corrupt politician. That doesn't mean the entire government is bad.

  • If it was brought up earlier in the thread, then reply to that thread, not to the video. I'm not saying I have to talk to a pastor to talk to God. I am saying that when my pastor prays to God, he is praying to the same God that I pray to. His God is my God and your God, the same, never changing.

  • "No words could ever be as powerful." I'm sorry, but you are wrong. Preaching by example is powerful, but scripture says it is not ultimately what will lead anyone to faith. "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ" Romans 10:17

"All the ministers in the world don't speak to your God. You do and that is real Christianity." My pastor speaks to my God, and so do countless others. My God is no different than your God, he is Christ.

  • I still don't understand why you even brought up public prayer. Are you referring to the girl in the video? If so, are you implying that she does not have the right to act in such a way? Worship is a private and public act. Once again, let scripture speak for itself:

"Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!" Psalm 149:1

"I will thank you in the great congregation; in the mighty throng I will praise you." Psalm 35:18

  • "often it is done in a private ceremony for babies"

yes, its called paedobaptism, and I do not believe its scriptural

"but born agains like to use it..."

anyone who calls himself a Christian is "born again." John 3:3 says "unless one is born again he

cannot see the kingdom of God."

  • unless one is on acid or insane they cannot watch the ceiling drip as demons dance on TV and god tells them to kill...

religion is ridiculous it needlessly hinders self determination with it archaic cultural constraint on free and critical thought and self awareness. we are supposed to be guilty or cower and beg the invisible man?

    who does that help

    free minds beget free bodies

  • what does religion have to do with this video? that part about that girl talking about praising god? that's her decision and if YOU try to oppose that decision YOU are being just as restrictive as the religions you oppose.

BTW, can you name the religions that speak about anti abortion, pro war, and anti sex causes in their bibles? or can you just name supposed representatives in those religions?

  • jack00008,

Well said my friend. You stay on point like you're doing and we're going to be fine. I will go and do likewise.

  • @jack00008 "T"hat's her decision, "clauses" The rest of it's good. I just don't want you to sound like a dumb baboon who can't understand the language it's communicating in.

  • >>>religion is ridiculous it needlessly hinders self determination

That may be true but as Thomas Jefferson observed, "Whether my neighbor worships one god, many gods, or no gods, matters not to me. His belief does not harm my body, my property, or my rights."

Freedom means freedom for all, even religious folks.

  • I'd like to add that there is a fine line between religion (man-made rules, regulations, laws, etc.) and a spiritual relationship with the Creator.

As a Christian anarchist, I want nothing to do with the former and everything to do with the latter. Religion as it is today is just another form of control. Rather than exploiting man's desire to have order (government), it is an attempt to exploit man's relationship with the Creator.

Religion =/= Christianity as in the Bible.

    Take care.

  • Ummm, why are you getting so bent out of shape over an invisible man?

AND, if it is invisible, how can you tell if it is a man?

Not knocking your atheism or anything, just knocking your logic over getting so bent out of shape over something you think isn't real, and to go further put a gender on something that you believe is not real.

Whats next after you fry the god myth?? Will there be a crusade on Santa??

  • You cited scripture before, so I will hold you to scripture. If you do not believe in

scripture, then remove your first post.

Scripture says: "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the

forgiveness of your sins, and you will recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38

"so its not really much" is not how scripture views baptism.

  • I know this is off topic, but it must be addressed.

"Baptism actually has its origins with the Jewish ritual..."

Yes, Christianity has its roots in Judaism. Christ was a Jew. But it is more than a "symbolic

    ritual."

  • What is a baptism? Its a public declaration of faith. There are public aspects of your faith and there are private aspects of your faith. You can't simply choose one over the other, together they make the whole of your life. Once again, NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IMPOSING ANYTHING ON ANYONE.

How are the disciples supposed to spread the word of God to other nations if they're not allowed to talk about it?

  • religion has always been a base for power. it's the basis for most of our restrictive laws, and well behaved oppressed people who have know interest in the system but gods watching so they won't cast off the yoke

they get heaven and earth if they're meek

drug laws anti-abortion censorship violent penalties homophobia religious wars ati-sex..

    all thanks to religion

  • If religion is so restrictive, how come the government is going after those who are religious? It's open season on Christians, in case you haven't noticed. Totalitarian types have always despised religion - they want no other gods before them. I'm tired of wanna-be intellectuals spouting off, pretending aetheism is it. It's usually just a cover for someone who doesn't want to be deemed guilty of anything.

  • Yah yah, who cares about all that shit? Who is that really hot black chick? The blonde had a helluva body too.

  • people like you need to GROW UP AND BE REAL

  • Psst: people like you need to get a sense of ironic humor. Smile a bit. :)

  • The idea that "faith is a private matter" is the very thing the entire bible speaks against. Faith in Jesus Christ creates a new person. This change should reflect every single aspect of your life.

  • Matthew 6:5-6 warns believers that honest prayer with the Lord is personal and should not be used to boast.

Have you read Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. or Mark 16:15, or Luke 24:47

  • I am continually astounded by people's ignorance. Superorchestra, I have no idea where your post came from or who it was in reply to. No one is talking about forcing religion on anyone. The video does not imply it, it speaks against using force.

Your understanding of faith in Jesus Christ is very poor. The first rule of hermenuetics is to never read a single verse and apply your own meaning to it.

  • Kewl vid.

  • Enron = free market

  • Actually Enron was conducting illegal operations and falsifying their bookkeeping. Breaking the law has nothing to do with free markets.

  • Oh and Enron didn't benefit from government regulations? We have no free market in America...

  • Libertarians do believe in freedom. Like the freedom to allow the homeless to starve on the street. Or the freedom to allow children with no healthcare to die of cancer. Freedom, my freinds, is not necessarily a positive word, in fact unregulated freedom is exactly what the founding fathers wished to avoid.

  • "unregulated freedom is exactly what the founding fathers wished to avoid."

I'm sorry, but I have to step in at this point. Where did you come up with this understanding of the founders? Do you have any references to support your statement?

  • The question you ask is complex because of what we consider freedom today. However il cite one example and let you do the research from there. Libertarians oppose the bible being in public schools, no? Well Thomas Jefferson (and many others) didnt '' the bible is the cornerstone of liberty, the students study of the sacred volume will make him a better citizen, a better father, a better husband'' -Thomas Jefferson

  • And this came from a man who wasnt even a Christian, but a deist. That is only one minor example but to suggest that the founding fathers were completely libertarian is simply not true. Mind you I shouldnt have even invoked their names into this conversaton because there are vast differences in todays world than there were in the 18th century that only government can take care of.

  • I'm sorry, but you have a lot to study. The question is not complex. What we consider freedom today is different from what the founder's considered freedom. It's less. You obviously have not studied libertarianism. Libertarians are not opposed to the bible being taught in school, they are opposed to public schools.

  • There are varying schools of thought in libertarianism. The idea that there should be no public funding for education is on the very heavily libertarian which is very rare indeed. Mainly because it is the only school of thought that not only thinks allowing your fellow man to suffer is acceptable, it literally endorses it. Libertarianism is awesome, in other words, if your in the top 10% of the population.

  • @brandonadams07 Actually, ryanbloody is correct. The Constitution, while still extraordinarily radical for its time, was, indeed, a move toward greater government control compared to the borderline anarchic Articles of Confederation. Indeed the slide toward anarchy was the major justification for replacing the latter with the former.

  • the word freedom means an individuals right to choose. homeless people choose that life. i didnt make them. cancer comes from a deficiency disease. libertarians want all americans to have health care cheap.

  • Unfortunatly reality is against you.

  • oh yeah I forgot to tell you... as I a libertarian I love watching those videos of pooor people starving and those kids with no arms or no legs or both that can get the healthcare they want. MMMM feel so good, it's almost enven better than sex.

  • Yes, we libertarians want the homeless to die off. We also think no one should have healthcare. We all know how well forced redistribution of wealth works. Which is why we oppose it. Get a fucking clue. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO ANOTHER'S PROPERTY.

  • I love the video, Americans need to stand up and fight for their freedoms. Free State Project!

  • New Hampshire, what a beautifull land, coming soon...

  • I want to answer to the people who posted some comments. G Bush does not support freedom, he is spending way too much and he has too much power. Support freedom by voting libertarian.

  • Libertarians simply prefer people to be dominated by economic power rather than governmental power. The tyranny of the bureaucracy and the tyranny of the corporation are twin evils. Replacing one with the other is no step forward.

  • I think your confusing government regulated business from freemarket business. Two completely different animals.

  • Not true at all. In a libertarian society there would be no such thing as a corporation as these are entities of the state. Libertarians simply believe in no preemptive force. Each person is free to do what they want, and if that means making money so be it.

  • Corporations can't exist without the government. Try again

  • Lets Liberate Are Minds!

  • Going to war in Iraq to stuff Bushs pockets with cash and secure oil fields is not what makes us free. misterv56.

  • Freedom costs $1.05.

  • America... FUCK YEAH!

  • freedom comes with a price

  • What price is that? The price of allowing your freedoms to be taken away is much greater than any associated with freedom.

  • the price of freedom is evident in the blood shed by thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen so that you can have the right to live within the laws of the USA and enjoy the rights you have

  • I dont think you're confusing Freedom with Tyranny.

  • Ooops. I meant

"I think you're cofusing Freedom with Tyranny"

  • American citizens have no idea what it is like to live under tyrannical rule. You cannot really talk about tyranny when you have never experienced it

  • Well I don't think people who lives under tyrannical rules would say "come in our country and live like us!"
