I knew Brian and all I can say is He was a great man who loved his job and his family. He may not be here in the flesh but he is here in spirit. I have most of the videos of all of our commrades on my old computer and his memorial is one that I used to frequent. I miss him as well. He will never be forgotten. From one of his 1/9 Inf. commrades I say hang in there you will see your son again.

This outstanding young man was under my command. His and his families sacrifice goes beyond words. June 21st is always a hard day... The marks on my heart are dark and deep. Rest in peace...
The man was a true hero, its people like him that inspired and instilled in me a deep love for america and a desire to move there as soon as possible. Losing a child is never easy, but i am sorry for your loss, the world will never know what you have lost
God bless your family for their sacrifice. You raised a true hero and my family appreciates your son. We appreciate him with every breath of freedom we inhale and pray for your strength.
your son is a hero, i miss my best friend dan, god bless the ones that made the ultimate sacrafice. 4-1 fa, 04-05, bless the iraqi army soldiers also that fell under me.....
I shared the tour with Spc Vaughn. Although I did not know him personally, I was in support of the 1/9 on Camp Hovey, South Korea when we deployed and was also serving at Ar Ramadi on the day he fell. I lost many friends and countless brothers in the sands of Iraq. Please give them the respect that they deserve. This is a tribute, not an arguement over a war.
We miss you still every minute of every day Alex. I would give anything to have you back again. i love you . mom

This is SPC Brian P Shaver's mom, as my screen name indicates. I STILL wait for justice for my son.
Your Brian was a beautiful guy. My thoughts are with you always.

I don't know what SPC Vaughn believed, I don't know how he saw the war, and I don't know what he wanted. I simply hope he found it.
I hope that someday I can make soldiers like him and the others proud, no matter where they are.

Nice video. I was in his sister unit, the 1-503rd in Ramadi for that tour and I am in A 1-9 now, just returning from Ramadi again.
