  • mine has delay can you help :)

  • Like ur shirt!

  • do u have to install it into a mac?

  • Hahaha u dont need a pop filter, it comes in the snowball!

  • @TheCoDFXCoach - It comes with a protective screen to prevent particles from getting stuck on the microphone diaphragm. The meshing on the mic does not stop plosives.

  • @TheBusyBrain ok sorry man didnt know that thanks. r we good?

  • Yall idiots it his video recorder mic with all noise not the blue snowball

  • GO BUCS!!!!!!

  • What is the sample rate and latency?

  • ive lost my blue snowball microphone usb cable.... i cant find it anywhere on the web can sum1 please for the luv of all tht is holy please tell me what the cable name is or where i can buy one from

  • @TehCasualGuy I can't recall of the top of my head but you can buy it on RadioShack. You can also buy it in 2.0

  • @TehCasualGuy dude its a generic USB cable Type A Male to Type B Male. You can get it anywhere for real cheap.. just search google shopping for USB MALE A B

  • See to me the quality sounds a little tin'y sonding, but mabey thats your render settings?

  • when im recording my voice in audacity with blue snowball, my voice is so low that i can barely hear it. but when im on skype, it is good... why cant i record good sound with fraps, audacity and many other recording programs??? please help me!

  • @ProductBoards Record with Sony Vegas Pro 10.0 It picks up voice well and you can heighten or lower the decibels to hear easily.

  • hey! i just got this, and when i am trying to record my sound in audacity or anything exept skype my voice is lower than my inbuilt mic to my computer. what is wrong??? it is so low that it is hard to hear what im saying...

  • I got an echo any help?

  • I rap! Would This Mic be good for me!?!

    THUMPS UP????

    Someone reply back

  • @DouiBoii yeah just dont be in a room with other noises closet or sound proof room will be good, cuz the mic picks up secondary noises

  • @DouiBoii Yes it would work for what you're doing. It does save you some money on having to get a AD/DA convertor [ audio interface ]. For what most people do now a days this will work perfectly. I would look into the Yetti if you can afford it.

  • heyyy!!

what do you think about the snowball microphone to sing ???

i love to sing but i need a professional microphone to post videos on youtube and record a CD of me singing on my MACBOOK.

do you recommend a good microphone for me ? is the snowball one of the best options to sing ?

i will be very thankfull with your smart help.

    =)

  • u said that u can download firmware updatees or something for bands? where can i find the update?

  • me and my band have faced alot of difficulty with garage band and have been forced to use only a camera placed outside of a closed door in order to record our music which includes bass, drums, and guitar, with the singer standing outside the door with the camera, my question is, given this scenario, is this mic a good choice for us? and can we record our instruments first and our vocals after? i know nothing of this and help would be greatly appreciated

  • could you help me plz ive just got it and it echos like hell what should i do

  • i am a rapper will this be good? lol

  • I am a rapper also would this mic be good for me?

  • I recorded my six-song EP entirely with a Blue Snowball USB microphone (all vocals, guitars and bass). If you want to listen, just follow the links to my website.

  • how much is the pop shield?

  • would you recommend buying the pop wind shield, i want to use it for recording my vocals?

  • would you recommend buying the pop wind shield, i want to use it for recording my vocals...also does it come with any software?

  • does anyone else have the buzzing in the background for the snowball mic?

i have the snowball mic and during the cardioid settings including -10 db it has the buzzing heard in this video if u listen closely

is this normal or what? a response from anyone is nice

  • @rayright15 i got something like that but i found i had the wrong setting on. it was on 1 and i needed it to b on 3 cause it picks up all the background stuff otherwise. i've also tried to record in a very quiet room which helps. but the setting is prolly most important, it will pick up a lot i find. i heard a friend who was whispering on his phone from the other side of teh basement while recording when u turned the volume all the way up. his mom was yelling at him for stealing cake lol

  • i have a pro with my mic ... when i sing into the mic .. i sound good .. but when i play my recording .. it makes my vocals off beat ..so can anybody tell me or help me ....asap plz

p.s. the programs i use to record audacity and adution

  • i have a prob with my microphone .... when i sing into the mic .. ..i sound good .. but when i play my recording .. it makes my vocals of beat ... plz reply and tell me what wrong with the Mic ...asap.....

p.s. the programs i use to record audacity and audition

  • @thekingproductions1 to avoid the latency issues of usb microphones, unfortunately, you can only do so by buying a digital audio interface and a professional microphone. expect to pay more than 300 all together if you want decent quality recording.

  • is the pop filter absolutely necessary? will it still work well without one? and also, do you konw if this mic is good for singing and instruments?

  • the mic is stupid ;P looks like a testical ()

  • @LiLMoNeYvevo testicle

  • Quick Question..... in your opinion, which of the three recording choices is best for recording acoustic guitar and where is the best place to aim the mic? Close to the guitar at the soundhole, far away from the guitar, etc.... Thanks so much :)

  • @bad0526 yo i jus say a video on youtube "twilight galaxy acoustic - metric " and they used 3 of these snowballs, two for vocals and one for guitar check it out !

  • Where did you get the pop filter? I assumed I'd have to make one because this mic is just dimensionally unique, and I wasn't sure a regular arm for a regular pop filter wouldn't work well without some modification. Thanks!

  • Where can I buy the pop filter thats made for this mic? Thanks! : )

  • Where did you get the black thing ???

  • @markelliott12345 description

  • I've just recently purchased this microphone and think its absolutely class!

Check out my new video that I've recorded with it :)

    Thanks!

    Aimee :) x

  • Sorry but I find the snowball to be a horrible mic and not worth spending the money on. This mic goes for $80. If you want a USB mic save your money and get Blue Microphone's Yeti at $150.

If you want to get quality recordings of vocals or instruments the entry point in the Blue product line is really the Blue Spark ($199) and my personal favorite Blue low-end product is the Blueblrd ($299). Low-end is a relative term because $199-299 isn't cheap, but Blue is known for the $6,000 Bottle mic.

  • what program you use it on> pro tools cubebase?

  • can i use it to singing?

  • @onlyavril123

    yes u can.

  • is there an adapter that can be used to hook up this USB mic as a studio-style mic? for example, can you hook this USB mic to an amp or any audio device using an adapter? (if it exists lol)

  • can you use this on a mac?

  • @kelseyandmichele yes. it was designed for mac and pc.

  • thanks for the good review :)

  • Hi, thanks for the awesome review. i just got a bluemic snowball, but i tried it, and it doesnt sound like me at all when i try to do covers, i dont hav a ringer or a pop filter, so does it change anything if i get those?

  • Is this good for recording music (voice), or should i get a mic that requires a preamp or something like that

  • :D i got the yeti now

  • were can i buy the pop screen? beucase i might buy the blue mic or the yeti mic ,

  • Hi there, great review!! planning to get one myself

I viewed some shops on the internet and I see this thing called a ringer? I know it doesnt come with the package, but do you know what it does?

  • How does this meet up compared to an XLR soundcard? Im trying to get simple homestudio going on a very low student budget but i dont want to settle for cheap low quality stuff.

  • i can hear static is that my rubbish headphones or the vid?

  • i just oredered one of these where can i get a pop shield for one ???/

  • Would you recommend the Yeti over the Snowball?

  • another thing. how come when i try to record sounds on my comp with the snowball it;ll only give me 60 seconds to record something???

  • It's a USB 2.0 Microphone.

  • Comment removed

  • Garageband is the best program to use it with.

  • So I have the same microphone (which I love!) but I want to do what you're doing and record with a camera and the microphone at the same time with the quality how do i go about doing that? This would be so helpful since I record songs and whatnot on my channel. =] ♡Daniela♪♫

  • @xobellalova4yaxo thank you! i have the same exact question!! how do you do it at the same time? i'm really not tech savvy....=)

  • @yellowgirl05 haha still trying to get an answer on this haha. i just recently asked another friend of mine who is good with the tech stuff so if i find out..i will pass it on to you! haha

  • @xobellalova4yaxo thank you so uch :)

  • @xobellalova4yaxo

You can use a program like Audacity.

Some computers, I believe older ones or computers that run on XP have sound recorders that record for 60 seconds, but with Audacity you can record as long as you want.

  • what program to do you suggest i use for the snowball? is windows movie maker good?

  • do you know if the usb snowball is compatible with simple laptops? i purchased mine in 2006 and i usually use my videos on movie maker. please help! lol

  • I read all these great reviews of the Snowball online, but then when I hear a sample recording it just sounds really crappy to me. What are these people smoking?

  • It has a built in pop shield, why are you using an external one? is the built in pop screen not that good?

    -Steve

  • There isn't a pop shield built in. That screen (which is on virtually all microphones) is strictly there to prevent objects and other particulates from getting to the sensitive components of the mic capsules / diaphragm.

A pop screen should be a few inches away from the mic to disperse the air puffs which prevent the plosives (pops) from reaching the mic surface causing distortion.

  • Oh, I see!

Ok, thanks a lot, you helped :D

It's more convenient for me to do desktop recording so this mic appeals to me. It really seems like quite the Jesus Mic.

There aren't any bad reviews at all, other than the people who are holding it very close to their mouths which is just silly. I saw someone use it for a guitar amp and it sounded like a direct input! xD I'm babbling now, thank you for the help. Check out my videos. :D

  • I want to hear someone scream their lungs out at the mic, and see how it holds up >:(

    No one does it though

  • You don't need to test it out, if it sounds good with speech it'll sound good with screaming. With any mic you're gonna have to stand back a bit, hah. So i'm sure it'll sound great with screaming. I mean there are so many amazing reviews, i think it's worth the minimal risk! Buy it! xD

  • I record music should i get this mic???

and check out my songz haha

  • @YaBoyKhalilTv yes i just got it and it is great

  • I wanna hear the blue Yeti T.T...*Cries*

  • hey sweet review. just wondering if u have had the chance to use the new blue yeti usb mic. im trying to record vocals over instrumentals but im on a low budget.

  • Check my videos! I just added an unboxing video of the Blue Yeti - A review is coming soon!

  • what is the black thing called??

  • A Pop Screen - You can find a link in the description to view more info on it.

  • @twixyboy The black thing is in the discription

  • stupid question but what kind of pop filter will fit on the snowball???? I like the one thats in the video.

  • The Pop Screen is by Nady. I added a link in the Description!

  • hey does this mic. record alot of background noises

  • It depends on which setting you use. Setting 1 and 3 (the Omni settings) it can pick up background noises. In the cardioid setting it is very good at limiting anything outside of the line of sight of the front input with a moderately compressed feeling.

    FYI

Setting 1 = For single user voice/instrument recording

Setting 2 = For extra loud voices/instruments that may cause distortion and for noiseless vocal recording (podcasts etc.)

Setting 3 = For group of voices or instruments

  • can i use it with windows vista? and can it be used for recording songs, mixtapes?

  • Works with Vista, Windows 7, XP, as well as Mac

    Install is crazy simple.

  • Do you think the quality on the microphone would be good enough for a mixtape? Like a music album

  • no... unless you truely have to be on a budget.. i wouldnt recommend it.

  • I have several microphones, some that are 4 or 5 times the price of this one, yet I often record with the Blue Snowball for jobs and various projects.

It's all about learning HOW to use it properly, and creating the correct environment for your needed recording style / type.

I have been a recording artist for 13 years, worked in high budget studios, and released multiple sold out albums and signed with multiple record companies. I can honestly say this mic is among my favorites.

  • What do you suggest as far as atmosphere for the SNoBallMic?

  • my blue has a static sound when I sing.. do you know how to fix that? Thanks!

  • maybe ur too close 2 much air get 2 it or u accidently spit in it. Try & get a pop screen like this guy has

  • good mic, i was thinking of getting it on amazon so i can make better prank calls

  • I got the same mic n pop screen as u ...but i think its a good mic just for what your doing music wise i think it sux lol

  • may i ask you a question? how many inches is your pop filter? i wanna get one but im not sure if i should get the 4" or the 6" thanks

  • I'm hearing a lot of static/hissing noise with your voice.

  • Only thing I hear is the fan hum of 4 computers / servers running in the background. The mic is actually seems very good at getting out most of that.

As far as static/hissing, maybe you should consider checking your system, output levels, speakers, or whatever you are using. I don't hear it!

  • On further digging, I must admit, I do hear a kind of clicking sound occasionally. I went back and listened to the original video, and it does not have that audio anomaly. My guess is that something in the compression to YouTube seems to have added that sound.

  • Yo where/which pop filter is that?(link)

  • @SolidStateSnow theres a link in the description...
