I would like to ask if there is any problem with this phone such as "inactive sim" which the phone will automatically turn off by itself and then turn back on. I am currently using a w910i which is happening to have this "inactive sim" problem which is frustrating because its always turning on and off by itself so im thinking about getting the w995. Please tell me if you are having the same problem or not. Thank you.

mate , to access bbc i[player and other apps , do you need to pay (have credit , or be on contract)

@DerienDore if you have a wireless broadband connection you could use that within your home (without paying). But if you were to use those applications outside of your home it would most likely be best to have a contract with inclusive internet access.

@DerienDore yeah as long as you have changed the settings on the phone so you connect using wireless not 3G (which is easy).

I think in most McDonalds you have to setup an account the first time you use it but thats not too much effort (also free).

@DerienDore it will be a very decent phone for quite a long time. The only reason not to would be if you were getting an expensive contract that gave you the very latest phone. But it sounds like youre going pay as you go so this would be a nice price in September. Go for it ;)

W995a is for America (US), two pin charger mostly in Asia, three pin charger is like for UK.

i know the camera stills are good, I am going to put a video up of some example video and pictures from this phone quite soon (but there are already quite a lot of videos like that, just search for them ;) ). The video is pretty standard phone quality (which isnt that great....compared to video cameras!) but it is still a bit better than a most phones.

@romen1028. The phone CAN use Skype and MSN amongst other applications but they are not always pre loaded into the phone.

Can you use the headphones that come with the W995 with a ex ipod ? or it just works with sony ericsson?

they are like most other Ericson headphones in that the wire splits into two parts, the first part has an Ericson connection (like the mains charger does) and the other end finishes where the microphone is (this wire is the longest of the two parts). This is where the second part plugs into (the headphones, which are really short). So this means that you could plug any headphones into the microphone and use it as a hands free kit.

But to answer your question......yes and no! The reason being that the Ericson headphone part of the two wires is too short compensating for the long length of the other wire (they had to design it like this the get the proportions right). So if you were going to use these headphones on your iPod the wire is so short that the iPod would be dangling under your chin! But you could buy a headphone extension cable to solve that problem.

Ive looked into this and to be honest i cannot find the definite answer but i can tell you that it sounds great. I used my same headphones on my iPod Touch and on the W995 and i COULD tell the difference! the W995 definitely sounded better and i think most people would agree.

But i havent used the C903 before so i cant give you your answer but i'd predict that it would be hard to tell the difference in the sound between the 2 phones.

Yet again i can say that the sound is great on the W995

glad you think its a good camera but it's nowhere near HD. the camera is a Sony HC53e HandyCam which records onto Mini DV Tapes.......so good guess  ;)

it would depend what you are comparing it to. For example if you are an iPhone person who likes all the Apps and support that Apple can offer, you may prefer that, but if you want a phone that seems a bit more normal with all physical buttons but still want a lot of power and gadgetry (such as the built in Wi-Fi support etc) yeah this phone would be great......

overall this really is a brilliant phone..........what phone do you have now to compare to, are you thinking about any other phones?
