China has bred dogs to be food. Just like we have bred cattle to be food. It's a matter of social taboo and what we, as a Western society, "accept" as the social norm.

I've already told you that morality is subjective. For the longest time we did not have ANY companion animals until recently. All you see is, oh there liked by people, so they shouldn't be killed. Once again with the cows, and chickens being companion animals but eaten. I will say again that they should be eaten without suffering, however it's our job along with other groups to point out the blatant animal cruelty and change it.

@lesterclaypool1 Golden eagles are far tougher than they look. They're not fragile little garden birds. Traditionally, all eagles are released into the wild after around 6 or 7 years of hunting with a human. I doubt there is a law in that country that forbids this sort of hunting, it's a sport after all. Golden eagles are classed as "Least Concern", as well as your precious grey wolves (which these wolves are not, yet it is likely that this subspecies is threatened. Do some research on them)

The only good things are that the eagles get exercise, learn how to hunt (since they are taken from the nest at an early age, and therefore cannot learn from their parents), and the humans are able to feed themselves and obtain clothing. Life out there is hard for these people. They can't just go to the shop and buy their necessities. It's an ancient way of life that offends soft Westerners such as ourselves.

So this type of practice makes complete sense.

I've already told you that morality is subjective. For the longest time we did not have ANY companion animals until recently. All you see is, oh there liked by people, so they shouldn't be killed. Once again with the cows, and chickens being companion animals but eaten. Morality is subjective, and just because it's a companion animal doesn't mean it does not have meat that can be eaten. As I've said, some people consider cows and chickens as companion animals, but we still have farms. I agree to them eating it, but not to them making them suffer.

Yes, some people still do need to hunt today, as I've said. Some people live on harsh terrains with little to no plants, and very little stores around. They could move, but that cost too much money, not even my family has the ability to afford moving and having to buy a home, and we aren't poor.

Our ancestors hunted wolves and ate them, they didn't consider whether or not they were companion animals until the last few thousand years. If something has meat, you can eat it. However, the wolf backed into a corner, where the man had an easy advantage over it, and therefore, it got caught again - the wolf's own fault why it never got away. The success of the wolf's escape depends solely on the wolf's abilities, because either way, there are determined hunters in the area who want to watch their eagle kill something, and will happily ride up a mountain after it it in order to re-claim it.

@lesterclaypool1 Golden eagles are far tougher than they look. They're not fragile little garden birds. Traditionally, all eagles are released into the wild after around 6 or 7 years of hunting with a human. I doubt there is a law in that country that forbids this sort of hunting, it's a sport after all. Golden eagles are classed as "Least Concern", as well as your precious grey wolves (which these wolves are not, yet it is likely that this subspecies is threatened. Do some research on them)

The only good things are that the eagles get exercise, learn how to hunt (since they are taken from the nest at an early age, and therefore cannot learn from their parents), and the humans are able to feed themselves and obtain clothing. Life out there is hard for these people. They can't just go to the shop and buy their necessities. It's an ancient way of life that offends soft Westerners such as ourselves.

No, I was not aware golden eagles were all-round residents. So sorry to offend you. And no, based on a documentary I watched, they kept their birds for a few years before releasing them, and stole the chicks directly from their nests as fledglings by climbing cliffs. they use eagles to hunt for food...this is a type of training and festival to show the best eagle hunters. I think its amazing to train a eagle for hunting. Just like training a dog for hunting but you have to keep in mind these ppl arent as privileged as anyone else in a city they live in mountains thousands of feet above sea level. were food isnt as easy to get and has to be hunted in long distances. So this type of practice makes complete sense.
