Still remember the last episode of season 5, Came home after a long day at work and caught it on TIVO. I bet I'm not the only one who yelled at the screen that night, "Shane, what did you do?!!"
Easily, the best season finale ever on TV. Walton Goggins should have a shelf full of Emmys. But, hey, at least he's got an Oscar.
Shane was the best acted character in the shield, disturbingly convincing and heartbreaking performance depicting a man falling apart( i still believe that the blame for all that happens to the strike team was on vic more than anyone else) and i really miss this show
A great show. Lem was a cool guy running with the shotgun and saddle of shells. I knew Shane was going down after what he did, just didn't know how or when.
Wish there was a way they could've all gotten off of any wrong doing..but I guess we all have a debt to pay. But the Strike Team was my favorite television group ever assembled.
The Shield was so infused with unpasteurized emotion, it leaves a burn on your soul. Lem's death, Vic's betrayal of Ronnie, the whole ordeal... seeing these men who love each other just... disintegrate, was nothing short of tragic. This is the best show ever made. Centuries from now people will dig us up and wonder why this was not given more credit and praise.
When Lem died you knew the show was coming towards an end and that it wouldn't be a good ending for anybody in the Strike Team. The Shield was the greatest show ever. The last two episodes had me in tears constantly.
Shane killing himself had nothing to do with vic and his kids you retard. He killed himself because he saw no other way out and gave up. He chose to take his family with him because he didn't want them in foster homes. He wanted his family to stay togeather even after death.
definitely. this was actually in the show...it played during the season 6 opener when vic shane and ronny were going to lem's grave. then at the end of the same episode during the montage.
i like when they play disarm at the end of the of mice and lem episode i really thought lem was going to mexico and then the next episode he dies that sucked but made the show even more insane
This show was the best ever police drama, with the exception of the wire, but that's HBO and of a different genre even. The last five episodes were pure gold!
@charles21180 The thing that sucked about Shane's death was that he didn't kill himself over guilt for Lem, he did it cause he didn't want Vic to be near his kids. So in a way Lem never really got avenged, which upset me.
some times i forget it is just a tv series

Ronnie got screwed. Didn't kill Terry or Lem, but payed for both crimes anyway.

Not sure this is the best song. The regret fits. But in Cash's case, it was an accident. In Shane's case, he did it with forethought.
